Components that promote cooperation between the two sectors, as observed from local and international practices, will be presented. Findings on the merits and further needs of selected cases from the Philippines in Aurora, Bohol, Cavite, Davao, Ilocos region, and Leyte, are highlighted. Future prospects are projected from the success of model farms, and community enterprises with improved infrastructure, security, marketing, and support. Different perspectives on agritourism will be presented, based on the author’s various experiences and research. These will include views on the relationship of agritourism to biodiversity, heritage and environmental conservation, utilization of Philippine flora and establishment of more public parks, community farms, festivals, heirloom foods and healthy cuisine, and advances in information technology.
