Vertical Rotisserie Grill
1912 Midland Metal Spinners was founded by
George Cadman, who was then 65 years old, as
a metal holloware manufacturing company, in St.
Mark’s Street, Wolverhampton. They later moved
into the Tower and Fort Works in Pelham Street,
which ultimately gave rise to the famous Tower
brand name.
1961 Tower became one of the largest
manufacturers of aluminium holloware, electric
kettles, tea pots and other household articles with
over 1,000 employees.
1974 Russell Hobbs took ownership of the
expanding Tower brand.
1937 Tower exhibited some of their latest holloware
designs at the British Industries Fair. As you can
see from the original poster, their stand No. A410
must have been a great sight as it promoted their
“Beautiful, inexpensive, untarnishable Plate, at
prices all can afford to pay”.
Healthier, Easier & Cheaper
The Tower Vertical Rotisserie Grill is great for those
looking to put an alternative twist on the traditional
Sunday roast, ideal for chicken and also perfect
for kebabs. Versatile and fuss free, the rotating
vertical rotisserie grill has even heat distribution
to ensure your culinary creations are cooked to
perfection. The direct heat from the rotisserie grill
stops your food from drying out. With the vertical
rotisserie, when you’re cooking meat it’s basted in
its own delicious juices. There’s no thermostatic
control for you to worry about, simply set the timer
and the grill will optimise the temperature to cook
your food to perfection.

3 USING YOUR APPLIANCE
Before first use:
1.
Read all instructions in this manual carefully.
The information included in this Manual will
guide you through the versatility of your grill.
2.
Place your grill on a level surface such as
a counter top or table. Be sure the sides,
back and top of the grill are at least four
inches away from any walls, cabinets or
objects on the counter or table.
3.
Remove all stickers from the grill. Remove
drip pan, rotisserie spit, forks and kebabs
and wash them in warm, soapy water or
in the dishwasher. Dry thoroughly before
placing in the oven.
4.
The door handle is removable, in order to let
you take it out and clean the inside of unit.
Before you use the oven, please assemble
the handle yourself by clipping onto the
fixing plates on the glass door.
5.
Dispose of packaging in a responsible
manner.
6.
It’s a good idea to keep the outer box for
storage purposes.
Functionality:
1.
When you are ready to use the grill, be
sure that the TIMER Control is in the “Off”
position and unplugged.
2.
We recommend a trial run to familiarise
yourself with your grill and to eliminate any
problem substance or oil that may have
been used for packaging and shipping.
3.
Plug the cord Into a 220-240 volt AC outlet.
4.
Set the TIMER control to 20 minutes.
A small amount of smoke and odour may
be detected. This is normal.
8
5.
To avoid scratching, marring, discolouration
or fire hazard, do not store anything on top
of the oven, especially during operation.
Rotisserie Set:
Cooking with the Rotisserie set accessories.
Accessories: Drip tray, spit and 2 x end forks.
1.
Put the drip tray into the base, slide spit
through the meat/poultry. If you are cooking
a whole chicken, insert with the nose facing
up and centralise the weight.
2.
Secure tightly with the two forks, using the
screws.
3.
Insert the spit into the drip tray, align and lift
into the top notch. Ensure you tighten the
screws so that the bird is secured top and
bottom.
4.
Close the door.
5.
Select the timer to cook for one hour. If you
require more cooking time after an hour,
reset the timer.
6.
Remove using oven glove.

Kebab Skewers:
Cooking guidelines:
Cooking with the Kebab Skewer accessories.
Accessories: Drip tray, top plate, low plate, 7 x
skewers and spit.
•
Ensure all meat, fish and poultry is
thoroughly defrosted before cooking.
•
Have all foods at room temperature before
adding to the rotisserie.
1.
Put the drip tray into the base.
2.
Slide the lower plate onto the spit, with
approx. 70mm from the plate to end of the
spit.
•
Cooking times vary according to size,
shape and thickness of the food. Checking
the food during cooking is recommended.
3.
Slide the top plate onto spit approx. 50mm
down from the top at the notch.
•
Using a meat thermometer helps to ensure
your food is cooked thoroughly.
4.
Slide the assembly spit into the drip tray
and locate the top notch.
•
Choose roasts with an even shape for best
results in the rotisserie.
5.
Load the kebab skewers.
•
6.
Insert the pointed end of skewer into the
lower plate hole.
7.
Insert the hook of the skewer into the top
slot and twist skewer anti-clockwise to
locate correctly.
For any meat that is cut into pieces – diced
chicken, sausages, pork chops – it is
recommended to cook using the kebab
skewers.
•
If you want to marinate your meat, do so
before adding your meat to the rotisserie.
8.
Close the door and start timer to rotate spit.
9.
Continue until all kebabs required are
loaded.
10. Close the door and start.
11. Allow to cook for 20-30 minutes
approximately depending on food and
recipe. If you require more cooking time
once the timer is done, simply reset the
timer.
12. Remove using insulated oven mitts as
skewers will be hot.
Tips:
To add flavour and help keep your meat moist
try pouring ½ to 1 inch of wine or beer into the
drip pan before cooking. An inch of water in the
drip pan with some added herbs, citrus, or even
juice (such as pineapple for ham) can add great
flavours to your cooking.
Mix your favourite herbs with olive oil or melted
butter for basting fish, meat or poultry. Apply
during the last 10 – 20 minutes of cooking time.
Allow your meat to cool for 10 – 20 minutes after
removing it from the grill. This allows all the juice
to redistribute and soak into the meat. This gives
you tender, flavourful meat.

Recipes for your Vertical
Rotisserie Grill
With the Tower Vertical Rotisserie Grill, you can
make a juicy roast chicken or other meat, with
little effort.
The vertical rotisserie is designed to roast meat
so it bastes in its own juices that is to say,
vertically! The fat drains down into a removable
drip tray for healthier-than-oven roasting.
Because you’re roasting the meats yourself,
you can buy a tastier chicken, control the amount
of salt and use the exact herbs and seasoning
you’re in the mood for.
The Tower Vertical Rotisserie can be used with
beef, lamb or pork, but we tested the appliance
using poultry with the aim of lower-fat cooking.
If you have the counter space to spare,
it is worth it.
Here are a couple of recipes for you to get
started, so don’t be afraid and dive on in and
experiment!
IMPORTANT: Never use a fork or sharp-edged
utensil to remove food, because that may
damage the heating element or cause injury.
All recipes are for guideline purposes only
and the photography shown is for illustration
purposes only.

5 TROUBLE SHOOTING & FAQ’S
Questions
Answers
Why is my meat
cooking unevenly?
Make sure that you thread your roast onto the spit evenly. The weight needs to
be centralised, with the nose facing upwards.
The spit is failing to
rotate.
Reassemble the spit and desired attachment into the rotisserie grill, making sure
it is correctly fitted into the top plate and housing.
How can I cook ribs in
the Vertical Rotisserie
Grill?
To cook ribs, weave the spit through the rib bones and cook following your
recipe.
What if I want to cook
something for more
than an hour?
If you need to cook something for more than an hour, all you need to do is set
the timer to an hour. Then, once the first hour of cooking is done, check your
food, and set the timer for the rest of the required cooking time.
What is the capacity?
The Tower Vertical Rotisserie Grill can accommodate up to 2.5Kg.
Can I cook vegetables
in the rotisserie?
Yes. You can cook vegetables on the kebab skewers. For best results, chop the
vegetables so they are similar sizes and shapes to help them cook evenly.
My roast chicken will
