ABOUT US.
01 DRINK COFFEE. DO GOOD.
ENGAGE REDEMPTION WITH LAND OF A THOUSAND HILLS
Mother Theresa said, “We can do no great things, only small things with great love.” At LOTH we believe
that even an act as small as drinking coffee can be filled with love and work towards the good of others.
By drinking Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee, you are forging a relationship with a farmer and entering into
the story of others. All around the world people are waking up to the reality that we are in this together
and even the coffee we buy can impact the lives of someone on the other side of the world.
It’s a pretty cool thing to think that every morning we can drink coffee and think of a farmer in Rwanda
and Haiti. We can know that through something we enjoy, we are making a difference. If you are looking
for ways for your business to catalyze change in this world we invite you to become a part of our Drink
Coffee. Do Good.™ story.

02 DRINK COFFEE.
At Land of a Thousand Hills we treat our coffee with excellence from bean to cup. By drinking our coffee you
honor the hard work done by our friends in Rwanda and Haiti. Our coffee is 100% Arabica, fairly traded and
ranked among some of the finest in the world.
As a part of our story, you will not only drink quality coffee that engages change, but have the opportunity to
foster community around your brand. When your customers know that you are engaged in the story of change
they want to be a part of your story. And whether you have complimentary LOTH coffee in your business, sell
it retail, or sell it by the cup we believe that LOTH can help you engage your customers on a new level.
03 COMMUNITY TRADE.
COMMUNITY TRADE: direct relationships, fair wages, and community investment.
Through Community Trade, Land of a Thousand Hills works closely with coffee farming villages, building relationships and helping them to have a better life. We really get to know our farmers. We visit their farms, meet
their families, and learn how we can help them. We pay farmers a living wage that is often twice the fair trade
price. In partnership with the local leaders/faith communities, we identify needs of orphans, widows, and the
disabled in these communities. We want Community Trade to be a sustainable solution for poverty that instills
hope and connects you with the people who grow the coffee in your morning cup.
Community Trade is thriving in Rwanda and Haiti. Each have their own story, but they all have incredible
testimonies of overcoming tragedies. Across the world coffee is bringing people together, instilling hope, and
transforming entire communities.
MEET SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO GROW OUR COFFEE.
04 JEAN AND CLEMENTINE.
At the start of the 100 days of genocide in Rwanda, Clementine’s parents and five siblings awoke to find their
cow dismembered with a note attached that read: “You’re Next.” Her father, fearful for his family, contacted
neighbors willing to hide the children. Within the 100 days, her father and five siblings were murdered by a
neighbor, a man they knew as Jean.
After the genocide, Clementine heard that churches and the government were working to reconcile victims
and perpetrators. Clementine searched her heart for the strength to forgive the man who killed her siblings
and father. When Jean approached Clementine to seek her forgiveness, he recounted details of the crime so
that hearing the full truth might enable her to free him of the guilt that weighed on his conscience. Through
the honesty of his confession, she granted him forgiveness.
The government then gave each of them adjacent land and coffee trees to farm. The two combined the land
so they could share the burden and reap the benefits together. Now, working as neighbors reconciled by the
power of God, Jean and Clementine work together each day, tending their coffee cherries, discussing the harvest, and making plans for the future. This is the Drink Coffee. Do Good.™ story.
