Rancho Manzanillo Master Plan
Rancho Manzanillo is a 650-hectare valley located east
of the Punta Papagayo area of Guanacaste, on the Bahia
de Culebra. Formerly a coastal ranch, the master plan
proposes a resort that includes a five-star Mandarin
Oriental Resort Hotel, 95 hotel-branded residential
accommodations, single family resort homes and an
18-hole golf course. SWA’s approach to the master plan
emphasizes protection of the natural vegetation, the
rare dry tropical forest, and the sensitive placement
of homesites to minimize grading and disruption of
the natural drainage patterns. The plan also preserves
public access to beach areas, while providing the secure
circulation to the hotel and homesites required for an
exclusive tropical resort.
