On behalf of the Highlands High School Musical
Theater, it is our honor to be the first school in the region
to present Disney's High School Musical: On Stage!
This classic story has something for students
and parents alike to enjoy, with characters we can relate
to. We sought a musical that would become a full school
production. We found a musical that showcased that all
members of society: whether a jock, brainiac, outcast or
thespian, everyone can come together for a common
good. These familiar themes are brought to life within
this musical. The production creates a theatrical presentation for all ages that is both familiar and innovative.
On a personal note, I am humbled by the opportunity to be part of this production, my second as director, since I graduated from Highlands in 2003. I vividly
recall the excitement as a student performing in productions with excellent teachers and mentors. Together with
all the staff and volunteers, our goal has been to provide
the opportunity for our students to have a similar experience that they will always remember as they continue to
grow and learn throughout their lives.
Our incredibly talented and dedicated cast, production staff, crew, and designers have worked tremendously hard and spent countless hours to present this
show. Our amazing technical team embraced the challenge of this type of production for our audience's enjoyment. We are extremely proud that our entire cast, production staff, creative team and crew are students, staff,
and community members of our school district. In addition, we have creatively brought on board this year the
Highlands Football Coach, Basketball Players,
Cheerleaders, and Marching Band to play cameo roles in
the musical. As a result, it’s like life imitating art! We are
actually living the life, and putting together a High School
Musical within a High School Musical.
It is quite rare in educational theater to assemble
an entire production staff “in house” as we do at
Highlands. The result of all of the hard work and talent
will do more than entertain you for an evening. Watch
closely, and be mesmerized by the depth of the characters and the talent you watch on stage.
As the world famous imagineer, Walt Disney,
once said, “You can dream, create, design and build, but
it requires people to make the dream a reality.”
- Michael Zeiler
A Note from
the
producers
It has been our honor and our pleasure to
help bring the magic of musical theater to the
Highlands High School auditorium. We are blessed
to have had a talented and gifted group of young
people and adults who work countless hours to
share with you the story line, the orchestration, the
vocals, the set, the technical aspects, and the
scene changes of over 20 years!
All of the hundreds of students and staff
involved put forth a tremendous effort! We thank all
of them for that! As we present another wonderful
musical performance, Disney’s High School
Musical: On Stage!, we know you will enjoy and
be thrilled with the efforts of all involved.
Thank you all for being a part of the memories, thank you all for continuing to support these
great performances, and thank you to all of those
students, staff, and adults who have helped make
all of the magic possible. Sit back, relax, and enjoy
the show!

Kristine Hrivnak
