‘The world of music would not be complete without ghazals. The world of ghazals
would not be complete without Jagjit singh. It is sheer good fortune for music
lovers of this age that such a maestro came along and not only transformed
the ghazal but the entire genre of non film music. He successfully changed the
vista of the ghazal to a whole new generation of music lovers thus changing the
common man’s home into a mehfil of ghazals’

Protégé of Jagjit Singh and your artiste for the evening
Tauseef received his initial education in classical Indian singing
from the renowned Late Pt. Govind Prasad ‘Jaipurwale’. It was only
after the demise of the latter that the teenager Tauseef came under
the able guidance and tutelage of the king of ghazals Jagjit Singh.
Through him, Tauseef received invaluable training in not only
ghazal recital but also vocal classical rendition.
With his typically natural and effortless style of singing and a
gifted ‘soz’ in his mellifluous voice Tauseef ’s listeners cannot help
but be impressed and carried away by his music and instantly
connect with his warm and straight-from-the-heart rendition!

one of my more promising disciples. He thinks properly before
composing and comprehends properly before rendering the shaayari
(poetry). Just as Music has become well-ensconced in his nature, so
has shaayari become an inseparable part of his mood.

“…I must’ve been a gawky teenager, all of 15 years… my voice was
changing from that of an adolescent to settle into adulthood. Jagjit Ji,
then at the peak of his singing career, would keep busy - mostly preoccupied with concerts and recordings of his various now legendary
albums. Sensing that my training is perhaps not up to his desired
level, Jagjit Ji lovingly ordered me to come daily during his recording
sessions at Western Outdoor Studio - the haven where his hugely
popular albums used to be recorded. This, I was later to realize,
would prove a turning point during my tutelage – the greatest boon
for my career and training, for which I am to sit today and thank my
fate eternally…”

CHAIRMAN, MADHU’s
‘Madhu’s have a long and established relationship with Jagjit Singh.
Our grandfather, the Late Mr Bishandas Anand, back in the late 1960’s
heard of an unknown artist that had come over form India to perform
in Nairobi. After meeting the young Jagjit Singh, our grandfather
arranged a Mehfil at the Brilliant Hotel. It was the beginning of an
enduring relationship and Jagjit Singh kept an association with our
family ever since.
I have been a fan of the man and his music throughout my life and I
often remember after his concerts my friends, family and clients would
always complain either about timings – ‘it’s either too early to eat before
the concert and gets too late after’ … or ‘aren’t ghazal evenings supposed
to be a late night affair?’ or the setting itself .. most of them wanting a
more intimate experience..perhaps with a glass of scotch in hand!
‘The Unforgettable’ concert will ensure that hospitality and
entertainment are provided for you hand in hand. Great food, drinks
served at your table throughout the performance, opulent surroundings
and a world class artiste are the true recipe of a superb night out.
Paying tribute to a legend is daunting but perhaps the job is made

The Heathrow Express runs from London Paddington and
is a 20 minute journey to Heathrow Terminal 5. The extensive London
Underground network makes reaching Paddington easy for travelers, at
whichever station their train terminates within our capital city. From South: Follow signs to Heathrow Airport on the M25 Motorway and
leave at Jct 14. At the roundabout take the exit onto Horton Road sign
posted Poyle, Datchet. At the second roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto
Poyle Road. Hilton Terminal 5 is situated 400 meters on your left hand
side. By Car:
The hotel is just a 5 minute drive from Junction 14 of the M25,
which in turn is one junction from the M4 and two from the M40. All
other major motorways can also be reached via the M25, which circles
London providing access to the national road network.
