Dear Talent Seekers, Potential Employers and Recruiters,
It is my privilege to introduce to you, Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, an institute of excellence in
management education, quality research, executive development, and value added consultancy. MDI is at the forefront of PostGraduate Management education in India, and holds the distinction of being the first internationally accredited Indian B-School
with accreditation by Association of MBAs, London (AMBA) and South Asian Quality Standards (SAQS).
In a bid to cultivate international exposure, MDI has collaborations with 55 institutions across the world. This promotes
productive sharing of intellectual capital through student and faculty exchange programs and co-designing the future of
business education, making MDI the most internationalized business school in the country.

The National Management Programme is a 15 month post graduate programme that was launched in 1987 as a path breaking
endeavor to enable practicing managers to acquire skills from a wide range of traditionally segregated domains. It focuses on
developing leaders who will excel in the rapidly changing business environment, become agents of change and be charged with
a customer centric orientation. The curriculum is grounded in our conviction that great leadership is what you do “with”
people and not what you do “to” people. Such an atmosphere develops in our students a thirst for innovation and a desire
to excel.

Since inception, the Executive Post Graduate Program in Management (EPGPM) at MDI has been the platform where thousands

The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (Executive PGPM) at MDI is a confluence of talent, experience and
passion. It is the first PG Programme launched by MDI which has been attracting executives with diverse experiences and
has been providing them a holistic business perspective along with international exposure. The learning through the years
have added to the richness of the programme. Participants of the Executive PGPM have highly benefited out of it and heading
various national and global organisations across sectors.
The programme fosters an environment for collaborative learning where you have an opportunity to engage, discuss and learn

Management Development Institute (MDI) was formed as an autonomous body in 1973, in collaboration
with several reputed institutions like UNDP, UNIDO, World Bank and ILO. Since its inception, MDI has

MDI Gurgaon boasts of one of the most distinguished
student exchange programmes in the country. It has forged
strategic partnerships with more than 80 international
institutes and it is this extensive network which provides
the students from the institute an excellent opportunity
to complement their understanding of the Indian business
scenario with cross-cultural management skills. Depending
upon the association with the partner institute, a student
may spend a term abroad or may also pursue a dual degree
from the partner institute and MDI. Equipped with these
experiences, the students of MDI are well positioned to

Accreditation
MDI was the first Indian Business School and the second
in Asia to be accredited by an International Institution
– Association of MBA’s (AMBA), London. In 2011, MDI
became the only Indian B-School to have all its courses
accredited by AMBA. In addition to this, MDI has also been
granted the coveted South Asian Quality Assurance System
(SAQS) accredation and National Board of Accreditation,
India.

Academic Partnerships
MDI offers a host of programmes launched in association
with its esteemed partner institutes. At the executive
management level, MDI’s partnership with the OneMBA
consortium has contributed to the establishment of
programmes in association with universities like ESCP –
Europe. At the post graduate level, MDI has launched the
International Management programme wherein students
spend their first year at MDI and second year in Europe. As
a part of the second leg, the students pursue six month
fulltime internships with leading European companies.

National Management Program
The MDI’s Executive PGPM, also known as National Management Programme (NMP), is a 12+3 months post graduate full time
residential programme running with the key objectives of providing:
• A holistic perspective of current business realities
• An ability to recognize and seize opportunity in competitive environment
• An ardent commitment towards betterment of the society
• A mind set towards global sensitivity
The programme is recognized by AICTE and is accredited by AMBA, the Association of MBAs (UK). It focuses on developing
leaders who will excel in the rapidly changing business environment, become agents of change and be charged with a customer
centric orientation. The programme offers blend of General Management courses with options of specialization in Finance,
Marketing, Strategy, Operation, Information Technology, Human Resources and Economics.
The entry into the programme is based on the performance in GMAT/CAT followed by Personal Interview. On successful
completion of the programme requirements, the participants are awarded Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM).
Following medals are awarded to the participants of Executive PGPM:

• Finance Minister’s Gold Medal: Awarded for best performance in Finance elective courses

Energy Management Program
Energy Management is a unique offering from MDI. It is an exclusive industry-focused programme which addresses the dare
need of highly skilled business professionals to sail through the management challenges in the Energy Sector. In 2011 it became
possibly the only programme with AMBA accreditation targeted at Energy Sector.
Energy is possibly the most critical input to rapid economic growth and development of an economy. The accelerated growth
unlashed since the 1990s & early 2000s have led to major initiatives which are structurally changing the policy environment.
Energy sector in India is passing through critical times. India’s growth aspiration would be severely affected due to constraints
in energy supply. Keeping in mind the bourgeoning demand-supply gap in an energy starved nation like India, which is further
distorted by wasteful management practices, there is an immense investment scope in energy infrastructure and energy
management in an environmental friendly manner. MDI became the pioneer by launching programme to train professionals
in the areas of energy management. This program was launched in 2005 to address these issues with the help of USAID and
Ministry of Power. Over the last year its domain has been broadened from power to other spheres of energy namely oil &
gas, coal, carbon market, energy efficiency etc. Through this programme we also aspire to meet our social responsibilities.
Following medals are awarded to the participants of Executive PGPM - Energy Management:

• The School of Energy Management Gold Medal for Outstanding Performance: Awarded for initiative in extracurricular
