Directors Corner, Directory, Volunteer Corner
Remarks from Renee
Our grounds look better than ever
thanks to the Parks staff and volunteers with the United Way Day of
Caring. Summer has finally arrived and
with it many great opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Enjoy the great
outdoors and get some exercise with
the Senior Center with our vibrant hiking group, cycling group, fishing groups
and corn hole. Check out our new Ballroom Dance on Sunday afternoons. We
have had many staff retire and resign
the past 6 months. We are so grateful to these staff for their many great
contributions. Please take a moment to
welcome the wonderful new staff who
have taken their place.
Dave
Discusses
One of my favorite events
is the International Potluck Picnic
scheduled on
August 16 at
11:30 a.m.
The lunch is
held at the
banquet hall at Mentor Beach Park.
The event features great food, good
conversation, a beautiful lake setting,
and outstanding music provided by the
Mentor Music Makers. Plan on joining
us and bring your favorite homemade
dish to share. We are offering a Grandparent and Me Pottery Class in July.
You get to work alongside your grandchild and make your very own clay coil
pot. We have 2 beautiful display cases
in the lobby that are available to groups
and members who would like to highlight their interests at the center.
Please follow the parking lot
speed limit of 10 miles per
hour.

NEW CLASS**Story from a Picture Plus ‘Story Cubes’
Our group creates a story from one picture. It’s a fun way to
be creative, use your imagination, recall and share pleasant
memories, and keep sharp your communication skills - both
talking and listening. We sometimes use Story Cubes also.
Story Cubes are oversized dice with pictures on every side.
Roll the dice and create a story using the pictures you roll!

Now that you have learned the basics about researching your family history on the computer, it’s
time to move on to more complex searches. We
