YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING?”
La canción “DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING? Pertenece al
musical Los miserables. Visto por más de 70 millones de
espectadores en todo el mundo, traducido en 22 idiomas y
representado en más de 42 países, LOS MISERABLES es una
historia atemporal, una historia cuyos valores perduran en el tiempo.
Un siglo después, los temas tratados en la novela de Victor Hugo
publicada en 1862, considerada como una de las obras más
conocidas del siglo XIX, aún siguen vigentes y en muchas
ocasiones muy cercanos para el público actual: la lucha por la
libertad, el coraje o la revolución del pueblo, un razonamiento sobre
el bien y el mal, sobre la ley, la política, la ética, la justicia y la
religión, son algunos de los temas centrales de la obra.
Los personajes viven la Rebelión de junio (1832) y los posteriores
cambios políticos. Además, el autor analiza los estereotipos de
aquel momento y muestra su oposición a la pena de muerte. la
novela sirve como una defensa de los oprimidos sea cual sea el
lugar o situación sociohistórica que vivan.

Cabaret es una película estadounidense de 1972 del género musical, dirigida
por Bob Fosse y con Liza Minnelli, Michael York y Joel Grey representando los
personajes principales.
Está basada en la novela de Christopher Isherwood Adiós a Berlín (Goodbye
to Berlin, 1939), y fue ganadora de numerosos premios cinematográficos y
conservada en el archivo de la Biblioteca del Congreso de los Estados Unidos.
Argumento: En el Berlín de inicios de los años 30 tiene lugar una historia de
amor entre la bailarina de un local nocturno de moda llamada Sally Bowles
(Liza Minnelli) y un estudiante de Cambridge llamado Bryan Roberts (Michael
York), con los nazis en pleno auge político con la ascensión del NSDAP al
gobierno alemán.

Argumento: La pequeña Annie es una huérfana que vive en el orfanato
regentado por, una mujer malvada que odia a la niña. Por azar, la confiada y
decidida Annie entra en la vida del millonario Oliver Warbucks. Este, en un
primer momento, se muestra contrariado por la intrusión, aunque empieza a
coger afecto a la pequeña y decide adoptarla. Sin embargo, Annie sigue
decidida a conocer a sus verdaderos padres, ignorando que fallecieron en un
incendio años atrás.
Una pareja de bribones se hacen pasar por los padres, en la confianza de
acceder a la pequeña fortuna de la niña.
"Tomorrow" is a song from the musical Annie, with music by Charles
Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin, published in 1977. The number was
originally written as "The Way We Live Now" for the 1970 short film Replay,
with both music and lyrics by Strouse..

Plummer. Basada en el musical de Broadway del mismo nombre, la película es una
adaptación de la novela La historia de los cantantes de la familia Trapp.
La película ganó un Óscar a la Mejor Película y es también uno de los filmes
musicales más exitosos de la historia.
Argumento:
Pocos
meses
antes
de
que Austria fuera anexionada a
la Alemania de Hitler, en la ciudad de Salzburgo una novicia llamada María (Julie
Andrews) es enviada a casa de un viudo capitán de la antigua Marina Imperial
austriaca llamado Georg von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) para que trabaje como
institutriz de sus siete hijos. Allí, la joven entablará amistad con los niños y se
enamorará del capitán, que está a punto de casarse con la baronesa Schroeder
(Eleanor Parker).
La familia von Trapp existió en la vida real y la película está basada en sus
aventuras, Maria se casó con el capitán en 1927 y vivió hasta 1938 con su marido y
los niños en Salzburgo.. Los hijos del Capitán von Trapp eran realmente siete . No
huyeron a través de las montañas hacia Suiza (lo cual desde Salzburgo es imposible
y sólo los hubiera acercado a Hitler ) sino que fueron en tren a Italia. De Italia
siguieron a Londres y de ahí finalmente lograron emigrar a los Estados Unidos.
