We provide an array of services within our centers and the homes of our clients both in Hawaii and in Asia. We have an experienced team that has been providing intensive educational and therapeutic support services over many years in the autism community both in Hawaii and in other areas throughout the US. We work primarily with parents privately who seek a high quality alternative to placement and programs they are offered within their home schools. Pacific Autism Center currently has a contract with the Department of Health and can offer services to children up to 3 years of age through this contract. Pacific Autism Center is an assembly of quality providers who share the same vision of creating a center that specializes in autism. We believe in providing a facility that offers the ability to implement high quality ABA services with superior supervision. 10 HAPA has relocated to a new area at Kailua Beach Park due to extensive sand erosion and for the safety and convenience of our participants. The Hawai‘i Adaptive Paddling Association is a non-profit organization that involves physically, mentally and emotionally challenged individuals in the sport of Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling. The primary work of the Hawai‘i Adaptive Paddling Association supports a monthly recreational program, which allows participants the opportunity to experience a day at the beach in a safe, controlled and fun environment. Our trained volunteers provide a nurturing experience so that our participants can reap the benefits of the canoe and ocean. With an emphasis on safety, volunteers guide our participants through basic paddling skills so they can feel a part of the overall experience. Many of our paddlers volunteered and trained for years with the Project Pure Light program, and have been instrumental in developing and training new programs that have benefited neighbor island participants and visitors from the mainland. Hawai‘i Adaptive Paddling Association also supports a successful competitive racing team comprised of world class athletes. The team has participated in international competitions, and their efforts shine a spotlight on adaptive paddling and what can be achieved. 11 Assistive Technology/Device Resources Assistive Technology Resource Centers of Hawaii About: ATRC is a nonprofit whose mission is to link people with technology and empower individuals through its use.
