2016 MEDIA KIT
Wilmington Fashion Week was created as a platform for upand-coming fashion design and fashion industry talent in
Wilmington, North Carolina.
We are lucky enough to live among notable creatives
working in the fields of garment design, fashion journalism,
event design, editorial and runway photography, modeling,
independent fashion retail, and hair and makeup artistry.
WFW gives these gifted community members a unique and
memorable opportunity to showcase their work to their peers,
customers, press, and the greater Wilmington community.
Since its inception, WFW has also served as a learning
vessel for local professionals, amateurs, and students who
rarely get the chance to work with a full fashion production
team.
The creation of opportunity has always been and always will
remain at the core of WFW’s mission. To ensure Wilmington
is flush with art and design oriented minds in the future,
WFW partners with DREAMS of Wilmington, a nonprofit
organization that provides free after school art and design
education to local children.

Fall 2013
Planning for the inaugural Wilmington Fashion Weekend
begins led by local stylist TJ Dunn
April 2-6, 2014
The first fashion week takes place in Wilmington, NC. Local
designer Casey Crespo wins designer of the year.
Fall 2014
Planning begins for WFW's second year and a full show
schedule is introduced
April 1-4. 2015
Wilmington Fashion Week is held for the second year at the
Wilmington Convention Center. Ximena Garcia is named
designer of the year.

Fashion Week
Fall 2015
WFW Founder TJ Dunn relocates to the United Kingdom,
WFW planning duties are passed to Alexis Babaian and JJ
Knight of Prologue PR and Jon MdFadden of Pretty Fly
Society.
March 29-April 2, 2016
Wilmington Fashion Week will take place for it's third season
and will be held at locations throughout the city.

- Debut of a dedicated menswear showcase at the Spring 2016
runway show

reach a wider audience and showcase different communities
