Arcade The arcade is located between the Little Neck Cafe and the laundry facility. Mini-Golf Cherrystone Family Camping Resort has its own 18 hole miniature golf course. Waterfront Activities Cherrystone leases about 600 acres of the Chesapeake Bay for the use of our campers. Cherrystone is bound on three sides by King’s Creek, Cherrystone Creek, and the Chesapeake Bay. These waters are rich in marine life including clams, crabs, and fish such as flounder, blues, trout, croaker, and spot. Our four fishing piers are well-situated for both crabbing and fishing. From June through September, an abundance of succulent crabs can be caught from our piers. Oysters and clams may be gathered using your hands or rakes. Fishing Contests Each year Cherrystone Family Camping Resort holds two fishing contests. For the serious fisherman, a Drum Fishing Tournament is held from April 1- July 1. A cash prize of $300.00 is awarded for the largest drum caught between the contest dates. We offer a $5,000 grand prize to any registered camper who breaks the world record for Black Drum. The current record is 113 lbs., and was made within sight of our piers! Our fall fishing contest is held from Labor Day to Columbus Day. A $100.00 cash prize will be awarded for the biggest flounder, trout, spot, blue, and kingfish caught between the contest dates. To be eligible for any of these tournaments, you must be a registered camper at Cherrystone Family Camping Resort and have your fish weighed at the Bait and Tackle Shop’s official weigh station during business hours. Only one winner per site, and winners cannot claim multiple categories. Charter Fishing Welcome aboard Cherrystone Family Camping Resort’s own charter fishing boat, the Miss Jennifer. The 50-foot boat is owned and operated by Captain Ray Cardone. Miss Jennifer departs from the Cherrystone dock for daily fishing trips from Memorial Day through the fall season.
