ITI N ER ARY Day 1 – Wed 27th Jul: You’ll arrive at London Heathrow for your morning flight to Singapore via Abu Dhabi with Ethiad Airways. Day 2 – Thurs 28th Jul: Arriving in Singapore in the morning, you’ll be able to check into your hotel and enjoy some relaxing free time. Day 3 – Fri 29th Jul: Today your adventure really begins! You’ll visit Raffles Institution, the oldest and one of the most prestigious schools in Singapore, with a possible talk from Associate Professor Tracey Skelton about children’s geography. After lunch in a local restaurant, it’s a trip to the Housing and Development Board (HDB) to learn about Singapore’s homes, vibrant towns and communities. Day 4 – Sat 30th Jul: Your morning will begin with a tour of the city, followed by a ride on the iconic Singapore flyer to take in the breath-taking panoramic views of the city. In the afternoon you’re off to the Marina Barrage to get stuck into its multi-purpose water management scheme, as well as learn about its role in flood prevention, water supply and leisure activity. You can then stroll through the Sustainable Singapore Gallery, while even more stunning views await you at Marina Bay Sands SkyPark at its observation deck. Day 5 – Sun 31st Jul: As your last day in Singapore you’ll visit the Urban Redevelopment Authority where you’ll be able to marvel at the 1:1000 scale model of the city, simulating future plans and buildings in the city area. The rest of the day is then spent entirely at your leisure. Day 6 – Mon 1st Aug: You’ll welcome the start of August in the historic state of Johor on the way to Melaka, travelling to Iskandar Malaysia, the new southern development corridor, where you can learn about its Special Economic Zone projects. Afterwards you can immerse yourself in the ICT Incubator Project, topped off by a meeting and dinner with the Chief Minister. Day 7 – Tues 2nd Aug: Your time in Melaka wouldn’t be complete without a city tour, leaving you with time to explore this culturally-rich state. You’ll be able to immerse yourself into the tropical life of this thriving national park. Get up close to Malaysian elephants at the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, hitch a ride on the water taxi from Kuala Tahan Jetty to Taman Negara and feel at one with nature on a jungle night walk. Day 9 – Thurs 4th Aug: Throw on your hiking boots for a jungle trek and canopy walk, finishing with a motorised boat ride to the cataracts of Lata Berkoh. Reserve Your Place Day 10 – Fri 5th Aug: Today you’ll travel to the Cameron Highlands, spending the day at the Tekam Plantation with an educational tour of crops like rubber, cocoa, palm oil, coffee and Malaysian fruits. After a stop in the cosy town of Kuala Lipis, it’s a trip to the Sultan Abu Baker Dam and Cameron Highlands Hydroelectric Scheme. Day 11 – Sat 6th Aug: As your last day in the Cameron Highlands, you’ll enjoy a tour by 4WD to a tea plantation and factory, strawberry farm, flower farm as well as a mossy forest trek. Day 12 – Sun 7th Aug: Travelling to the city of Ipoh, you’ll explore the Lata Kinjang Waterfalls (reputed as one of the tallest waterfalls in Peninsular Malaysia) and the chambers of the Gua Tempurung caves to see some spectacular speleological wonders. More wildlife awaits you at Orang Utan Island where you will learn all about the conservation and rehabilitation of these incredible creatures, visiting the research and education centre.
