Introduction
It is always challenging to know which ink company can provide you with the best quality product. Today there are scores of options.
There is a balance between price and quality as should be no surprise.
This is why FLAAR is constantly evaluating printers and gradually getting to know the various manufacturers and distributors of inks all
around the globe. We have studied inks in Taiwan, in Korea, in China, in Switzerland, Germany, and in USA. To do this we go to their R&D
labs, demo rooms, and get to know the companies. These efforts are to help print shop owners and managers recognize which ink is an
acceptable choice for their printer.
We go to these efforts because distributors around the world ask FLAAR which ink brands we recommend that they consider distributing
in their country. And print shop owners ask us for suggestions of what brands of after-market inks to consider. And of course we also
recommend the original OEM inks in many circumstances.
In this report, FLAAR presents the information collected during APPPEXPO 2012, including a wide variety of inkjet ink companies, both
producers and distributors of ink for inkjet printing that were present at last year’s trade show and that are expected to be exhibited at
APPPEXPO 2013 as well.
FLAAR is issuing this series of reports to help you prepare for APPPEXPO 2013. These reports are a preview of the companies that are
expected to exhibit at the 2013 show. The inclusion of a company or brand on this list does not guarantee that they will be present at the
show. But during the expo this July you may also find additional brands and companies present.
Manufacturers
The purpose of this report is for you to have a general idea of what products and brands will be exhibiting at the largest wide-format
printer exhibition in China.
It is important to mention that the inclusion in this list is not any kind of certification from FLAAR Reports whatsoever. The only inks we
can certify are those whose factories we have visited and when we have undertaken site visit case studies. We are familiar with inks from
Hongsam since we have visited their factory and also several end-users who are successfully using inks from Hongsam. We also know and
respect the owner, top managers, and sales reps.
We are also familiar with InkWin, since we have been to their factory twice and also to their offices in Shanghai. Plus we have visited
a company successfully using inks from InkWin. Plus we know the owner, the head chemist (with a degree in ink chemistry from a
university in Japan), and the staff.
Every year we enjoy visiting new companies so we can expand our list of certification. There are many companies at APPPEXPO whose ink
we look forward to learning more about.
And when you come to this mid-July expo in Shanghai, you can learn about these and many other brands which provide diverse options
for inks. We encourage you to also visit your own local printer expos: the ones we know best are Sign Middle East (SGI, Dubai), Sign Africa,
ISA, SGIA, GOA in America, FESPA Mexico and FESPA Digital (this year in London). But also venture to the literally largest signage expo in
the world: APPPEXPO 2013, where you will have the opportunity to experience more inkjet printer brands than Drupa (and many more
brands of inks than Drupa).
So we hope to see you in Shanghai at APPPEXPO 2013.

FLAAR has been visiting APPPEXPO for over 5 years, since the expo has
been growing, each year more members of the staff attend the show.
FLAAR staff really enjoys going to Shanghai, and many of the team
members have attended this expo several times.
Prepare in advance to get your visa for China
First step is to register with APPPEXPO and get your Visitor Pass. Then
get a hotel reservation and airplane ticket. With these three documents
you can apply for a visa. Be sure to do all this now so there is time to get
your visa.

Every year the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center is the location for the APPPEXPO show. This
Convention Center has 17 exhibition halls, conference rooms, and business center. Here you can see a
general view of the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center, and a map of the hall distribution.
Printers, inks, media, substrates are in the west halls. Cutters last year were in the north halls. LED digital
signage and traditional signage are in the east halls.
