Joe’s children in the residential treatment program are ages 6-14 and need normal, family-style activities like all kids do. Our super staff and Activities coordinators keep the kids very active and enjoy lots of fun outings! It is crucial that the children learn how to be successful in a family so they can transition into foster care or return to their own family. The best way to teach them is to show them! We are so grateful to all of our community partners who donate experiences to the kids throughout the year. Thank you! Joe’s has been creating families since 1849. Over 150 years later, we continue to do important work in the community—as well as any other private childcare agency in Kentucky. In 2015 we celebrated 14 adoptions. St. Joe’s continually ranks among the leaders in the state for number of adoptions. In 2016 we have a goal of 18 adoptions! The therapeutic foster care and adoption program provides consistent support and therapy (both individual and family) even post-adoption. The St. Joes’ foster care staff are dedicated to recruiting the right families and ensuring that they make the best match for the children. The program finds families not only for children living at St. Joe’s but also for families all over Kentucky. Currently the program is working with 55 children from all over Kentucky to find a family. The bond that the foster and adoptive families form with St. Joe’s staff is truly remarkable. The bond, much like that of the alumni, is a bond not easily broken. To many of our families, St. Joe’s staff IS FAMILY. People often talk about the ‘magic’ they feel when they walk in the door at St. Joe’s. It is undeniable to those who are familiar. The Buccolas Would you like to be part of that magic?
