Why should you support Winnipeg Harvest?
The statistics are grim and growing:
• Each month Winnipeg Harvest provides emergency food assistance to more than 63,000 hungry people. This is a 3.4% increase from last year!
• Manitoba has the 2nd highest rate of children using food banks in Canada. Nearly 42% of Winnipeg Harvest’s food bank users are children.
• Since 2008 there has been a 57.6% increase in food bank use. That is the highest rate of increase among the provinces.
• Winnipeg Harvest relies exclusively on donations and does not receive operational funds from any level of government or the United Way.
These facts are both frightening and true.
Your support helps Winnipeg Harvest continue to feed our most vulnerable and make a huge
difference in the quality of life and health of so many people.
In an ideal world there would be no need for a food bank. But in our world, thank goodness there is a
Winnipeg Harvest.
