HISTORY
In 1983, Mitchell Katz began distributing high quality leather hides to trim and conversion
shops throughout the United States. Using uncompromising standards, it wasn’t long before Mitch gained a reputation as a source for superior leather. He soon discovered that
the demand for leather automotive interiors was suppressed by the expense of having seat
and door panel covers customized. Thus was born Katzkin.
With the same commitment to quality, Katzkin designed seat and door panel covers that became direct replacements for factory cloth and
vinyl. This allowed auto dealers to offer top quality leather at an affordable price, which meant that everyone could enjoy the luxury of leather,
not just the owners of high-priced luxury automobiles.
Now, 23 years later, Katzkin is the industry’s leading aftermarket leather interior manufacturer, with over 2500 authorized installers nationwide, offering more than 2000 interior patterns. All those patterns can be ordered in a variety of two-tone combinations in more than 95 colors
and materials with available options such as piping, contrast stitching, perforation, and custom embroidery.
At Katzkin, there’s no end to the possibilities.

together to offer Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep dealerships
a revolutionary interior program. Now, for the first time
ever dealerships can order Katzkin leather interiors with
nearly unlimited custom options for no extra charge.
The options are almost endless:
• Over 70 two-tone colors
• Custom stitching, Perforation and Piping
• Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep embroideries
• Many other custom packages and options
DaimlerChrysler dealerships can now order complete
interior packages and installation directly through
the Mopar parts order system (DealerConnect).
This ensures ease of ordering and greater accountability.
From start to finish, custom interiors are now easier
than ever because of the new partnership between
Katzkin Leather, Inc. and Mopar Performance.

OCS COMPLIANCE
SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY!
In the early 1990’s, Katzkin took the lead in our industry by being proactively involved with safety issues.
We began by ensuring that the construction of our seat covers provided for the proper deployment of
side impact airbags. As part of this process, we initiated both in-house and independent testing of our
covers. These tests demonstrated that our covers, when properly installed, did not interfere with the
operation of the side impact airbags.
Katzkin then set an industry precedent by backing our product with a $51 million product liability insurance policy, issued by the world’s highest rated insurance company.
In 2002, we began researching and testing our interiors for the impending new federal regulation requiring the introduction of Occupant Classification Systems (OCS). Again, testing showed that our interiors,
when properly installed, did not interfere with the operation of the Occupant Classification System.
Before the year was over, we created our Katzkin OCS Manual, a guide to understanding these new
safety systems.
As of today, we are the ONLY aftermarket leather interior company approved by a major OE manufacturer
(DaimlerChrysler) for installation of our covers on their vehicles equipped with OCS. And we continue
to test our product using the top independent research laboratory in the country – the same lab that the
OE’s and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration use.

Chip Foose, world renowned automotive designer and host of
the hit television series Overhaulin’, has turned his talents to
the new Dodge Charger. Each seat in the Chip Foose-designed
Katzkin leather interior package from MOPAR is made of Katzkin’s premium Tuscany leather with perforated inserts and an
embroidered Foose Edition logo, and is available in multiple
color combinations.
Other options on the Foose Edition Charger, available through
MOPAR, include the MOPAR Chrome Wire Mesh Grille Inserts and
the MOPAR Cat-Back, Free-Flow, Dual-Outlet Exhaust System.
