30th September - 3rd October 2010 Lardner Park, Warragul Victoria
MJOC ran the National Jeep
Jamboree Victoria 2004,
with over 600 people and
nearly 300 Jeep vehicles in
attendance across four days.
In 2010, we hope to create
an event that will exceed our
previous efforts and attract
over 1000 visitors.
Lardner Park is the base
venue for what is expected to
be the largest Jeep owner’s
event ever held in Australia.
The key goal for the National Jeep Jamboree
Victoria 2010 is to cater for all levels and interests
for the Jeep enthusiast.
In a safe and fun environment you will be able to
enjoy the varying capabilities of your Jeep with trips
ranging from scenic drives visiting local attractions,
to day and night drives graded Easy to Extreme and
everything in between.
With access to local public and private competition
tracks, along with 100’s of km’s of tracks in the
nearby State and National Parks you will have ruts,
rocks, hill climbs and bog holes to challenge you
and your Jeep.
In addition, there will be plenty of entertainment
onsite as well, with fun to be had both in and out of
your Jeep. Jeep 101 training, onsite test tracks and
trade alley where you can support the Sponsors and
pick up a bargain (or few) for you and your Jeep.
There will be plenty of activities to play on, under,
with, and around to keep them entertained...
through their paces on a mini-circuit.
Our wonderful Sponsors have ensured that our
prize cupboard is chockablock with awesome
Jeep and lifestyle prizes. The Show’n’Shine and
Ramp competition will provide just two of the
opportunities to claim yours.

Jeep Jamboree is a family-oriented four-wheeldrive event that’s probably unlike anything
you’ve ever experienced.
Jeep Jamborees are designed for all levels of
expertise - from raw beginners to seasoned
veterans - so they’re fun for everyone.
Jeep Jamborees are designed for all Jeeps from the
stock vehicle just driven off the show room floor, to
the modified tourers, the hard core machines, and
everything in between.
Jeep Jamboree activities can include various Jeep
trips into nearby four wheel drive trails, Jeep trials,
suspension articulation ramp competition, Jeep
show ‘n’ shine, vehicle displays, sponsor displays,
and many social activities.
It’s all about the Jeep Lifestyle.
C
hoosing a venue close to decent 4WD tracks
was paramount, but our experience from the
2004 Jambo showed us that one of the major things
that we needed to look for in a venue was existing
facilities and infrastructure. Lardner Park has a
multitude of features and facilities that make it
the perfect venue for the National Jeep Jamboree
Victoria 2010, including:
• Dedicated 4WD area inside the park
• Toilet/shower facilities
• Terraced camping areas with powerhats
throughout the park
• Very large undercover areas
• PA system thoughout the park
• Existing picnic tabled area under shade
• Large dam
• Picturesque property surrounded by rolling hills
• Small travelling distance for most Victorians
T
he history of the Jeep Jamboree goes back more
than 57 years, when a group of enthusiastic
owners of ex-World War II military Jeep vehicles
decided to drive an old Indian track across the Sierra
Nevada Mountains in Northern California. That track
was the Rubicon Trail, one of the toughest 4WD
routes anywhere in the world. The famous Rubicon
Jeep Jamboree has been held every year since and
has spawned other similar Jeep Jamboree events
across America and around the world.
In 1953 Mark A. Smith and a small group of
Rotarians and friends figured out a way to boost
the economy of Georgetown, California: stage an
annual Jeep vehicle trek across the Sierra Nevada
Mountains by way of the old Rubicon Trail. The first
Jeep Jamboree saw 155 people take on the Rubicon
Trail. And in 1954, Willys Motors - then manufacturer of
Jeep vehicles - became involved with the adventure.
There are over 30 Jeep Jamborees each year in the
USA and they are also held in other countries all
over the world. Jeep Jamborees are held every 2
years in Australia and this is the second time that
the Melbourne Jeep Owners Club have run one
in Victoria, the first being in the Narbethong and
Marysville area in 2004.
