We had our great time from 11 April to 14 April. Reflection: Day 1 Spots description After taking a long period of flight, we went to SeoRakSan by coach with 4 hours. Hence, it was dark as we arrived. Sorak Kumho resort, which is the resort we stayed tonight, is full of Korean home stay style. Inside the room resort, it possessed a kitchenette and kitchenware, convenient one's want cooking. Also, we need to spread our blankets to sleep on the floor. Although it seems to be too cold to sleep on the floor, the resort using central heating system to make the floorboards become very warm. It is not able to go through this experience in Hong Kong. Reflection On the first day, we were tired that as we rode for a long time. The scenery of Korea is beautiful beyond description. Everything is different from Hong Kong. There are no any tall buildings, no any crowded streets. On the way, Jacky, our tour guide told us a few basic facts about Korean people. Korean people are very nice and helpful. They can be extremely nice as long as you treat them with respect. Respect, is a traditional culture in Korea. Everyone in Korea must respect each other, especially for the elders. Everywhere older people are respected, but in Korea they are highly respected. That is the thing we should learn! 3 After riding for a long time, we arrived to the hotel in rural area of Korea. The hotel room is really different from Hong Kong. The hotel will not provide any personal products to their customer, like toothpaste, as they are full of sense of environmentally protection. We are honor that the school provides us an opportunity to have a grand tour. We are broadening our horizons and we are looking forward to the spots in day two so much! Photos 4 Reflection: Day 2 Spots description We had visited 4 tourist spots on day 2. Seoraksan National Park (NaeSeorak) was the first spot we had visited. It is full of beautiful scenery with fresh air. The Teddy Bear Museum was the second spot we had visited. There are many bears with different sizes and all of them are cute. It is a good place for photographing. Waterpia was the third place we had visited. It is a water park. We can enjoy various spas in there and there are many fantastic facilities despite we cannot enjoy them. Last but not the least, we had visited a famous spot in Seoul, Dongdaemun Market. It's like Tsim Sha Tsui or Causeway Bay in Hong Kong. It was quite difficult to buy what we were interested in since the prices of goods aren't affordable at all. Reflection On the second day, the first tourist spots we have visited is Seoraksan National Park. In the entrance of park, we saw a lot of beautiful trees with pink petals, it was what we seldom see in Hong Kong. When we entered the park, there was a Buddha and many people were praying. There was also a stall selling flagstone for people writing down their wishes. It was very popular. We knew that Korean people are fond of making their wishes. Some of the classmate tried to write on the flagstone and we all found it meaningful. We can see ever more traditional old architecture of Korea. They had a long history and very magnificent. They taught us the old traditional architecture. The second place we arrived was Teddy Bear Museum. There were lots of bears but not all the same. They had different colour, style and size. Also, many decorates were provided for photographing. All decorates were lovely. It made Teddy Bear Museum not only become the future world of child, but also our group. The next place we arrived is Waterpia. In Waterpia, people were very discipline. They wear swimming cap for hygiene. Also, Korean people using the facilities in a polite way. They won't strive to be the first and fear to lag behind or ruffle in Waterpia. Playing in Waterpia taught us playing with discipline. The last place we went on the second day of grand tour is Dongdaemun Market. Sellers in Dongdaemun Market were enthusiastic. They explained clearly and communicated with us so we were all having a cheerful shopping time. On the second day, we knew much about Korea but we hoped we can know ever more in the remaining days. 5 Photos 6 Reflection: Day 3 Spots description On day3, we had visited 3 tourist spots. Lotte World was the first spot we had visited. Lotte World was the largest indoor theme park in the world. There are many exciting games facilities for us. Myeongdong was the second spot we had visited. It is a famous shopping area in Seoul. It just like Mong Kok in Hong Kong. N Seoul Tower was the last spot we had visited. It is a communication and observation tower. Also, it marks the highest point in Seoul. The attraction point of N Seoul Tower is the beautiful night view. Reflection The first destination on the third day of our grand tour is Lotte World, which is a big indoor theme park. Some of classmates would not want to play exciting amusement ride so we thought it might be boring. However, there are many motionless game for different people so that all of us had a good time in Lotte World. Also, while we were playing in Lotte World, we saw Koreans are very self-regulation which can be our model. After playing for few hours in Lotte World, our next destination is Myeongdong. Myeongdong is a famous shopping point in Korea. Majority of product sold such in Myeongdong clothes, makeup product and street snacks. It showed us that Koreans perceive the image important. There was also suitable for buying souvenirs. Shop assistants in Myeongdong are very agentive so that we can buy trophies for ourselves and family. After we finished our abundant dinner, we arrived N Seoul Tower. It is a high tower near the city. When we were near the tower, we found that we can clearly look at the whole Seoul, it was so beautiful and ostentatiously prosperous. Furthermore, almost every couple in Korea like to go there to buy a lock, it symbolized their love will last forever, We think that this action is very meaningful if they can go back after a long time All of us took photos to commemorate the moment as the ending today's journey. Although we would go back to Hong Kong very soon, we wanted to see and know more about Korea. It is an enjoyable grand tour for us! 7 Photos 8 Reflection: Day 4 Spots description We visited KONGRUNG MIDDLE SCHOOL after enjoying breakfast in hotel on day 4. At 9 am we arrived KONGRUNG MIDDLE SCHOOL, the principal met us in a classroom. He prepared a speech in Putonghua and some food for us. Then we went to the hall to enjoy the students' dancing performance. We communicated in English and took a lot of photos. When we left the school, many students were saying goodbye in their classroom. Although we wanted to stay more time at the school, we had to leave to catch the flight. We had a great time with the student in KONGRUNG MIDDLE SCHOOL. Reflection We gained lots of experience and broadened our horizons. Although we have difficulties on communication due to different language, we could still learn the core value of Korean culture. Actually, when we arrived the school, we were a bit nervous because we did not know how to talk to them. After a brief introduction on their school and our school, we started to visit their school building. In the beginning, we were shocked because the area of their school is bigger than our school twice and there are only near 1200 students studying. It provided a chance for us to communicate with people who have a different cultures with us to know about Korea. Then, we admired the traditional dance in hall. Their dance is quite similar to our Chinese traditional dance. The main difference is that their dance is extolled bear and China is dragon. In our view, it had different fascination from modern Korea dancing style. When the dancing was finished, there was a sharing session. Every one could try the traditional musical instrument. It is really interesting because their musical instrument is different with general. Their musical instruments are the one seldom see in general music show. The instruments they are used like people using to celebrate old traditional festival. Also, we had chatted with them and knew that most of them are hate Japanese. The reason is Japan had occupied Korea near 70 years and they had done numerous sours. It lets us discovered that they have different systems of values and historic background. To summarize this visiting, it is really cheerful and educational. Not only is make new friends in other country, but also learn more about Korea culture. We are honor to have this chance opportunity to visit this school. Conclusion: To sum up, we had enjoyed 4 great days with our classmates. Not to mention our own group mates. Not only did we shorten our distances through this trip, but we also had known more about Korea. Besides we are going to plan our next trip after DSE. 9 Photos 10 Group Member List 5A 5A 5A 5A 5A 5A 5A CHAN TSZ YU , PURPLE (1) CHOW UENYI (7) LAM TSZ CHING (11) TSANG HIU MEI (17) LAM MAN TIK (24) LAW CHUN KIT (25) TONG TSZ HEI (30) 11
