National Amusements, Inc. is a world leader in the motion picture exhibition industry. Beginning as a chain of local drive-in movie theatres over 70 years ago, National Amusements has expanded to own and operate 1,528 screens at 120 locations in the United States, United Kingdom, Latin America and Russia. Based in Dedham, Massachusetts, National Amusements is a closely held company that is the parent company of both Viacom and CBS Corporation, and an equal partner in the online ticketing service, MovieTickets.com. Operating under the Cinema de Lux, Showcase Cinemas, Multiplex Cinemas, Bridge, KinoStar, and UCI brands, National Amusements distinguishes itself with its world-class movie theatres and has established a reputation for providing a moviegoing experience for its patrons that is unrivaled. As president of National Amusements, Shari E. Redstone is the third generation of her family to lead the company, which was founded by her grandfather Michael, in 1936. National has grown to be the fifth largest exhibitor in the US with a presence in 12 states, and a strong regional dominance in the areas where it operates. While owning the majority of their locations, National Amusements strategically expands in free-standing locations, lifestyle centers and regional malls. New cinemas typically contain 12 to 16 screens occupying 55,000 to 75,000 square feet. Under the leadership of Ms. Redstone, National Amusements has launched the Cinema de Lux and KinoStar brand of theatres, as well as unique and innovative programming focused on transforming the movie theatre into a community entertainment destination. The company has also significantly expanded its international presence in the United Kingdom, Latin America and Russia with theatres and unique business development opportunities. The Cinema de Lux and KinoStar concepts take movie going to a whole new level and are the high-end entertainment concepts that National has successfully rolled out in select markets across the United States and Russia. The theatres offer the latest in comfort, sound and viewing and offer the highest quality amenities including reserved seating in the specially designed Director’s Halls and concierge services. Cinema de Lux theatres, customized for each location and market, feature luxurious lobbies with baby grand pianos; and lounge areas with comfortable home-style furniture, wifi access and complimentary newspapers and magazines. 111907 The company has also taken concessions to a new level with in-theatre food ordering, and the addition of their new restaurant concept Chatters, a full service restaurant and bar with signature specialty cocktails. National Amusements is also transforming the movie-going experience by developing and introducing exciting alternative entertainment experiences. The first theatre circuit to feature live, high-definition sports broadcasting, they recently launched CyGamZ™, the ultimate interactive gaming arena, another first for the industry. This cutting-edge entertainment concept features state-of-theart equipment and games. National Amusements will be expanding its programming with live comedy, music and other forms of unique entertainment concepts. National Amusements has a strong commitment to the community and supports a number of charitable organizations such as the American Cancer Research Foundation, Massachusetts General Hospital, New England England Medical Center and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. In addition, National hosts a number of community based initiatives in its theatres such as: Bookworm Wednesdays (a summer reading program for children), Kidtoon Films ( G-rated movies every Saturday and Sunday morning), Silver Screen Classics (a classic movie program geared toward senior citizens) and Holiday Classics (providing canned goods for local food pantries.) In April 2007, National Amusements announced a partnership with the USO of Metropolitan New York to help that organization in its efforts to support our nation’s military family. National Amusements saluted all Active Service Personnel and their dependents by offering free admission, soda and popcorn at all their theatres for two weeks, then instituted an ongoing special military pricing program. 111907 Viacom Inc. - Engaging our audiences through television, motion pictures and digital platforms, Viacom is a leading global entertainment content company with prominent and respected brands that include: MEDIA NETWORKS MTV Networks (MTV: Music Television, VH1, CMT: Country Music Television, Logo, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike TV, TV Land, and more than 130 networks around the world, as well as digital assets such as MTV.com, comedycentral.com, VSPOT, TurboNick, Neopets, Xfire and iFilm, nBET Networks) FILMED ENTERTAINMENT Paramount Pictures • DreamWorks • Famous Music CBS Corporation is a mass media company with operations in virtually every field of media and entertainment, with prominent brands including: BROADCAST AND CABLE TELEVISION The CBS Television Network, CBS Television Stations, CSTV Networks, The CW, Showtime RADIO AND OUTDOOR CBS Radio, CBS Outdoor PRODUCTION AND SYNDICATION CBS Television Distribution, CBS Paramount Network Television, The CBS Interactive Audience Network PUBLISHING Simon & Schuster 111907 THE MANAGEMENT OF NATIONAL AMUSEMENTS The success and reputation of National Amusements is due to its experienced and devoted management team.
