I felt a call to ministry through my involvement in several campus ministries at LSU and attended seminary at SMU. Also while living in Baton Rouge I first met Christene, who grew up there, and is now my lovely wife. I served as pastor to the Wesley United Campus Ministry at ULL for 4 years, and have spent the last 5 years serving the 4-point charge in LaSalle Parish. Christene and I have one dog, named Dax. I enjoy reading, hiking, and travelling the world with my wife. We are excited about this new season in our ministry, as we work together with the people called Methodist in St. Francisville. -Rev. Please join us from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Youth Room on the second floor of the Robb House for this 8-week program. Dear Church Family, Lots of prayer, preparation, and people are what come to mind when I think about the 2016 VBS. With an average of 120 kids in attendance, over 30 adult volunteers and over 40 youth volunteers, I’d say Deep Sea Discovery was a HIT! The kids were thrilled about their mission project-Living Water International, Inc. They gave a total of $411 towards the building of a water well for those in need of fresh water. I prayed A LOT that it would all come together. I prayed that God would direct me and help me to guide others to the best of my ability, and I prayed that t-shirts would not be the death of me! Tons of prep was done by many who were either behind the scenes or front and center. The people who stepped up to serve the church and make this years VBS a success… I can’t thank you enough. To be able to witness the smiles on the kids faces and the energetic atmosphere was a true gift. The friendships that were made and time spent with others all to glorify God was a true blessing to me. Danielle Ritchie SFUMC Children’s Ministry Director This year will be discussing an 8-week series “The Anatomy of a Disciple” by Dr. Rick Taylor. The series was designed to inspire and equip believers to become authentic disciples of Jesus Christ. Believers are called by Christ to be and make disciples (Matthew 28:18 -20), but what does a disciple look like? The series offers a common language that we can use to discusses such a complex idea. Dear United Methodist Church, On behalf of the West Feliciana Animal Humane Society, we would like to thank you for your generous benefit donation. Sincerely, LaDonna Landry, Volunteer The Anatomy of a Disciple provides awareness of what God intended for authentic spiritual growth by using 8 video sessions and a book to guides us through the series. If you plan to attend the devotional it is recommended that you purchase the following book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0991306112/ ref=cm_sw_su_dp The church will provide the additional support materials that you will need.
