Celebrating

" T nlike years past, the Class of
2000 celebrated the countdown
to graduation on two different
occasions. The first celebration took place
on Friday, November 5,1999 when the
seniors traveled to Foxwoods Casino
where they celebrated 200 days 'til graduation.
When they arrived at Foxwoods,
most of the class split into groups and went
their separate ways. After the long bus
trip, many students were hungry and went
to dinner first, others first priority was
gambling.
After gambling for a couple of
^ hours, most of the senior class retreated
^ to the bar to relax and visit with each
^ other. Conversations soon turned to disc cussions regarding the fun they were all
having there. Soon many of the seniors
u headed to the Synodrome for some danced ing. This was the first time the senior class

had a chance to hang out together and
enjoy themselves.
Everyone had fun gambling and
dancing with their friends and classmates.
It was just a glimpse of what the future
would bring to the senior events.
O n Monday, February 28, 2000,
the senior class held its second celebration, "2000 hours 'til graduation!'
Although the event landed in the middle of
mid-terms, it didn't effect the large turn
out of seniors.
T h e seniors boarded buses and
anxiously awaited the unknown destination. As the buses drove north on Route
95, the question was whether the class was
headed towards Hartford or New Haven.
The excitement grew and soon everyone
realized they were going to Hartford. As
the buses drove down the street, they approached welcoming signs at the Brickyard Cafe. It was here that the theme for
senior week was revealed, "The Wiza
of Ol. T h e bar was closed to the genei
public, so the class had the bar to the
selves for the night.

tables, while downstairs was the dan
floor. Most of the class began the nig
upstairs eating, socializing, and playi
pool with friends. As the night went
many of the seniors made their way do^^
stairs to dance the night away. The ch

West Hall and all the memories they h
made the past four years at S H U .
As the night ended, it becar
clear how close the class of 2000 had
come and how hard it would be to s
good-bye. As the seniors boarded t
buses to head back to Sacred Heart, th
were handed 2000 Hours t-shirts as a
minder of the memories of this evenin
