Miscellaneous Notes 2 March 12, 2014 Workstation Requirements Disk Space 10 GB of available disk space on the system drive recommended Hardware 2.0 GHz (or higher) processor recommended 2 GB of RAM (or higher) recommended (1 GB minimum) Operating System Windows XP Service Pack 3, Vista (32 bit or 64 bit), and Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit) Note – Macs are not compatible with SCO Merchant Capture Software Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0, 8.0, and the 32-bit version of IE9.0 Appropriate Ranger Device Driver – varies depending on the scanner in use and will be obtained from the UFS SCO Drivers Link Note: * The workstation (and server if applicable) on which Branch Source Capture is installed must be defined as a trusted site: https://sco-web.ufsdata.com * User must be a Local Administrator on the PC when installing SCO Merchant Capture * Internet connection/Wired Ethernet Network Interface Card connection/DSL, ASDL, Cable, T-1 (with Internet access of 1.5 megabits per second (MBPS) connection or higher) Internet access * If client PC must connect to the Internet through a corporate firewall, the firewall must be configured to allow HTTPS requests (port 443) to the Merchant Capture web server and receive corresponding HTTPS responses. This is a secure Internet connection over port 443 using 128 bit encryption. * If a proxy server is being used, it may need to be configured to allow access for the Merchant Capture application. *Uninstall third party toolbars such as Yahoo, Google, Bing, etc. they have caused issues in installing the merchant capture software *If problems arise during installation, it may be necessary to disable spyware or antivirus temporarily 3 March 12, 2014 Qualified Scanners Listed below are all scanners qualified for SCO Merchant Source Capture. Open Internet Explorer and select “INTERNET OPTIONS” from the Tools Menu. 2. The INTERNET OPTIONS box is displayed. Select the Security tab, highlight TRUSTED SITES and click the Sites button. 3. The TRUSTED SITES box is displayed. Enter the following website: https://sco-web.ufsdata.com and click the Add button. Click Close. 5 March 12, 2014 4. The INTERNET OPTIONS box is again displayed. Click the Custom Level button. The SECURITY SETTINGS – TRUSTED SITES ZONE box is displayed. Establish the following: Automatic Prompting for ActiveX controls -- Select the Enable option. Download signed ActiveX controls -- Select the Prompt option. 5. The Warning box is displayed. Click “YES”. 6 March 12, 2014 6. The INTERNET OPTIONS box is again displayed. Select the PRIVACY tab. Verify that the Pop-up Blocker is not turned on. If this box is checked, uncheck the box. If your customer would prefer to keep the Pop Up Blocker turned on for all sites except SCO Merchant Capture, proceed to Step 8. 7. Click “OK”. 8. If your customer would prefer to keep the Pop-up Blocker turned on for all sites excluding SCO Merchant Capture, click on the Settings button under Pop-up Blocker. 7 March 12, 2014 9. When the POP-UP BLOCKER SETTINGS box appears, add the following site: https://sco-web.ufsdata.com to the Address of website to allow and click Add. Then select Close. This means that pop-ups will only be allowed for the sites that are listed. For all other sites, they will be blocked. 10. The Internet Options box will be displayed. Click on Apply. Then select OK. 11. Close the Internet Explorer window. 8 March 12, 2014 Installing the Scanner using the SCO Drivers Link User MUST have Administrative Rights on the workstation that is being used. THE SCANNER MUST BE UNPLUGGED DURRING INSTALLATION! 1. Open Internet Explorer and access the following page: https://sco-web.ufsdata.com/drivers/ 2. Add this to the customer’s Favorites. 3. Select the appropriate driver by clicking on the description or picture of the scanner your customer is using. 4. When asked Do you want to open or save this file? Choose Save. 5. Choose a location on the PC to save the driver where it will be easily accessible. 6. Click Save and close the web page. 9 March 12, 2014 7. Access the location on your PC that you saved the driver. Open the folder containing the zipped driver. a. Note: The location listed below is for example purposes only. You may not have saved in a similar location. 8. Right click on the zip file and choose WinZip > Extract to here. a. NOTE: If the PC does not have Winzip, then you should see an option to “Extract All.” 9. After the zip file has extracted the contents to the path you indicated, you should now see the folder which will contain the executable file (.exe) that you will use to launch the installation of the driver. 10 March 12, 2014 10. Choose the Executable file (.exe) for the scanner being installed. 11. Follow the prompts to complete the installation. 11 March 12, 2014 12. When installation is complete, select Finish. Plug in the scanner and proceed to the Launch Web Capture documentation. 12 March 12, 2014 COMMON ERRORS AND RESOLUTIONS 1. When logging into Merchant Capture, you may see this message each time upon login: 2. To prevent this message from appearing upon login, access the SCO Drivers Link at https://sco-web.ufsdata.com/drivers/. 3. Select the following: 4. The Install Documentation will provide the instructions for running the SCO151 Install Package: SCO1251 Install Instructions: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Click on the SCO1251 Install Package and save off to the PC. Unzip the SCO1251S.zip file that was saved off the Drivers Link. When unzipped, the file name should be SCO1251S.exe. Verify you are logged into the pc as a local administrator. Make sure merchant capture is closed. Double click on SCO1251S.exe and select 'Next'. Enter https://sco-web.ufsdata.com for the 'Target Server'. Select 'Merchant Capture' for Merchant capture users and click 'Next'. 9. Click 'Next' and 'Install'. 10. Allow sco1251 to install and click 'Finish' when complete. 11. Log in to Merchant Capture again and you should NOT be prompted. Please note: if you continue to be prompted, verify the Step 1 Workstation Configuration doc has been set up properly. 13 March 12, 2014 5. If you see the following screen after installing the driver and logging in as the employee, that means you attempted to install the driver without extracting it from the zip file first. -Uninstall the driver. -Extract the contents of the zip file and make sure that the executable file and the .dat file are present in the same folder: -Re-install the driver. 6. If a user is attempting to view reports in Merchant Capture and the following message displays: Have your customer try the following for the “Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage” message when attempting to get the deposit report. 14 March 12, 2014 1. Access Tools – Internet Options 2. Go to the Advanced Tab 3. Under the “Security” section, access the message “Do not save encrypted pages to disk.” If the option is checked, uncheck it. If the option is unchecked, check it. Basically do the opposite of what it is. 4. If a customer reports the following error when attempting to scan a Merchant Deposit, 'Exception: XPathResult is undefined', have the customer perform the following: 1) add the merchant capture website to the compatibility view settings make certain they are using the 32 bit version of the browser 2) clear the cache and make certain that the Preserve Favorites Website Box is UNCHECKED 3) make certain they are using the 32 bit version of the browser 1. Run the following websites within Compatibility View A. Business Online Banking: securecorp.ufsdata.com B. SCO Merchant Capture: sco-web.ufsdata.com 15 March 12, 2014 Enable compatibility mode in the browser: Add the site: 16 March 12, 2014 2. Confirm “Preserve Favorites Website Data” is unchecked Tools – Internet Options 17 March 12, 2014 Confirm you are running the 32 bit version of IE 11 To get the 32 bit version of IE - Save shortcut to the desktop for the customer. 3. 18 March 12, 2014 Calibrating and Cleaning the Scanner 1) To calibrate or clean the scanner, go to Start Menu > Devices and Printers and right click on the scanner that you use for SCO Merchant Capture and select Scan Properties. It is recommended that the scanner be calibrated each time it is installed. 2) Go to the Advanced tab and select Calibrate or Clean. Calibration will require you to feed the calibration sheet that came with the scanner. It has a black bar across it and arrows pointing so you know which way to feed it. The scanners also came with a cleaning sheet that can be used to clean the scanning eye. If the scanned images ever look dirty, distorted, or crooked, please perform these steps. 19 March 12, 2014 Launching SCO Merchant Capture Before completing these steps: Check that the scanner is plugged in and the drivers are installed; Verify that the Pop-up Blocker is turned off when running Merchant Capture. 1. On the merchant capture workstation, open Internet Explorer and open the following link: https://scoweb.ufsdata.com/WebCaptureWeb/MerchantCapture.do?appId=EBI1450&FID=07591779 1 2. Add this to the computers favorites or add an icon to the desktop so it is easily accessible. 3. The Merchant Capture Login box is displayed. Enter your Premier Ecorp Access ID and Token Number with PIN and click LOGIN. 4. The scanner will turn itself on and the Silver Bullet window is displayed. 5. After login, the screen below will appear. Click OK. 20 March 12, 2014 If any other activeX warnings show up in a yellow bar on the top of the screen, please right click on the bar and allow the add-ons to run. If this pops up every time you launch SCO, follow instruction on page 29. 6. There are two View Settings in SCO( Classic and Contemporary). It is recommended to use the Contemporary view to take advantage of all the new features of the software. To change your view, just click the Switch to option at the top right of the page. 7. The Home screen is displayed. Select the “Create Deposit” tab. 21 March 12, 2014 8. The Create New Deposit box is displayed. Enter the deposit amount (if required) and select the appropriate deposit account. Click the Continue button. 9. The Merchant Capture Scan screen is displayed. Click the Scan button to begin scanning items. After the items have been scanned, correct the amounts to balance. When finished, click the Capture Complete button. Foreign items cannot be scanned into a deposit using Merchant Capture. The client would need to physically bring those to the bank for deposit. If you are using a Micro Scanner, the check can be fed into the scanner any way. (Face up, face down, etc) The software automatically adjusts the image. 10. After the items have been scanned, they will be listed on the screen as shown here. After each item is scanned, you should check the amount, check number, and routing number to verify that they are correct. 22 March 12, 2014 a. If you need to change amounts or correct exceptions, you can click on the (+) next to each item to expand the area and show the image. SCO users are only able to adjust the deposit amount. b. If the program does not fill in the check number or routing number, click on the image to bring up the deposit to verify that the image is clear and complete. If the image is distorted or missing a section, press the red X next to the check to delete it and rescan it. If the image is clear and complete, the check number and routing number will be added during processing, so you can submit the deposit with these being blank. c. If the software ever reads a check number or routing number incorrectly, press the red X to delete the check and rescan it. If it reads it incorrectly twice in a row, please email [email protected] and include the following information: i. Deposit ID, amount, check number, and account number for the check that needs to be corrected. This can only be done on checks that are still in a Submitted state. d. The software checks the last 45 days for possible duplicate deposits. If you get a warning that a possible duplicate has been found. Please verify that this check was not deposited before. If it is a duplicate, press the red X to delete it. If it was not a duplicate, then press the appropriate option in the pop up to allow the check to be processed. 23 March 12, 2014 11. If all items have scanned properly and the deposit is in balance, click Submit Deposit. Verify the Deposit Status displays Submitted. When finished, click the Logout button. 12. The Thank you for using Web Capture page is displayed. Click the Close button. 24 March 12, 2014 Printing a Deposit Summary Sheet 1. On the View Deposit tab, click on the View Deposit icon to the right of the deposit you want to print a summary page for. 2. Once the deposits are listed on the screen, click on the Export As drop down and select PDF with Images. This will pop up a PDF document that summarizes the entire deposit and also included images of all the checks for your records. 25 March 12, 2014 Searching Past Deposits 1) To view past deposits in Merchant Capture, go to the View Deposits tab, Select the All Deposits radial, and click on the small gray arrow on the right to show the advances search options. Put in a date range or an amount of a deposit and press Search. All SCO deposits are available for 45 days. 26 March 12, 2014 SCO Security Standards and Guidelines 1. Company is aware of and acknowledges that security measures will be taken to ensure original checks can only be accessed by authorized personnel will not be duplicated will be scanned only one time will be stored in a secure location will not be otherwise deposited or negotiated in any form with another bank, credit union or other entity if it has been scanned and accepted for processing are secured so that the information contained on the original check is not improperly disclosed. 2. Checks are required to be securely stored for a period of at least 30 calendar days after posting to the Settlement Account. The merchant assumes responsibility for the proper destruction, i.e. shredding, of original checks. Under no circumstances will company destroy the Items prior to verification of acceptance of File by Bank. 4. Companies are required to have current antivirus software and Microsoft updates on the PC running merchant capture at all times. It is not recommended to use auto updates. 5. Employees should not share their token or pin with anyone. If the company needs more tokens, they need to contact the bank. The company will also notify the bank immediately if their token or pin has been compromised or if an employee that had access to SCO has been terminated. 6. Company should have an up to date firewall in place to protect the computer from external access. (Windows firewall must be turned on or they must have an external firewall configured.) 7. Company will not upgrade computer or software without contacting River Cities Bank first. 27 March 12, 2014 Recommended Microsoft Update Settings (Never Update Internet Browser without checking with the bank for compatibility. A noncompatible internet browser could result in the inability to access the program) Below are instructions for verifying that your computer does not automatically install available updates. Review the appropriate directions for the operating system that you are using. Windows XP Navigate to the Automatic Updates screen by choosing: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Automatic Updates This should be selected This setting will download the updates and allow the administrator on the computer to install them. After downloading is complete, the Windows Update icon appears in the notification area and an alert pops up, letting you know that the updates are ready to be installed. To review and install available updates, click the icon or the alert. You can install all or some of the available updates. 28 March 12, 2014 Click on Custom Install. This will show you the list of updates that have been downloaded. Review the list and check all the updates you would like to install. Since ECorp is launched through the internet, it is not recommended that you update Internet Explorer to any new versions unless you have received notice from River Cities Bank saying it is ok to install. 29 March 12, 2014 Windows 7 1. Click the Start button and then choose Control Panel. 2. Within the Control Panel window, click System and Security. 30 March 12, 2014 3. Click the System and Security link from the Control Panel window. 4. In the System and Security window, select Windows Update. 5. In the Windows Update section, you can manually look for any new updates by clicking the Check for updates button. In order to modify the Windows Update option, click Change Settings in the left pane. 31 March 12, 2014 5. Here you may change the way Windows 7 download and install updates. Configurable option include Important Updates, Recommended updates , Who can install updates and Featured update notifications . 32 March 12, 2014 1. 6. Under the Important updates section, choose Download updates but let me choose whether to install them from the dropdown menu. A configured Windows Update window will look like this: Click Install Updates and select Custom. Look through the list and check all the updates you would like to install. SCO Merchant Capture: sco-web.ufsdata.com 36 March 12, 2014 Enable compatibility mode in the browser: Type the site in the Add this website box and click Add. Then click Close. 37 March 12, 2014 2. Confirm “Preserve Favorites Website Data” is unchecked Tools – Internet Options 38 March 12, 2014 Click Delete. For Business Online Banking and SCO Merchant Capture: 1. Confirm you are running the 32 bit version of Internet Explorer 11 (IE) To get the 32 bit version of IE - Save shortcut to the desktop for the customer. 39 March 12, 2014 Go to the path listed above and right click on the iexplore.exe icon and select create shortcut. Then right click on the shortcut and copy and paste it to your desktop. 40 March 12, 2014 Miscellaneous Notes There is a handy tool on the SCO Drivers Link https://sco-web.ufsdata.com/drivers/ called SCO Evaluation: Once you run it on the PC at your client’s location, this tool will show you if the person logged into the PC is an Admin as well as how much memory and disk space is available, browser, and operating system: The following statuses mean that the deposit has reached UFS: o Submitted o Delivered UFS pulls in client deposits beginning at 9:00 a.m. daily and every 2 hours thereafter until 8:00 p.m. We memo post the deposit shortly after we pull it in. We can delete a deposit if you don’t yet see the deposit in Presentments. History of deposits is retained for 45 days. 41 March 12, 2014 How to uninstall/reinstall a Ranger driver: o Open Add/Remove programs and remove the ranger driver, and any additional scanner entry ie;TellerScan, SmartSource, MyVisionX. o Browse to C:\Program Files\ and delete the Silver Bullet Technology folder and the Panini folder o C:\ProgramData\ and delete the Silver Bullet Technology folder. o Browse to C:\Documents & Settings\All Users\ApplicationData\ and delete the Silver Bullet Technology folder. o Reboot the computer o Log in as a local admin. o Disable the windows anti-virus. o Reinstall scanner driver. (Refer to instructions above) o Verify ActiveX controls are set. (Automatic Prompting for ActiveX Controls=Enable, and Download Signed ActiveX Controls=Enable) o Log into Web Capture and test scanner. 42 March 12, 2014
