EDITORIAL
Welcome to the CAMPINGS DE LLEIDA!
The Association is made up of 48 mountain campgrounds located
in the interior of the Lands of Lleida. The counties where the
campsites are located are Pallars Sobirà, Pallars Jussà, el
Aran, Alt Urgell, Alta Ribagorça, La Cerdanya, La Noguera and
El Solsonès. Each of these offer a wide range of possibilities in
the middle of nature with modern installations and all types of
services to satisfy the most demanding campers.
ESCAPING TO THE PYRENEES IS A PROCESS OF
DISCOVERY. For the campgrounds of Lleida it is essential that
we respond to each of the demands of the campers who plan to
enjoy their escape, the max, to the Pre-Pyrenees and the Leridian
Pyrenees. This doesn’t necessarily mean to have many
activities, but rather calmly enjoy each moment without
renouncing the best comforts in the lodging of your: bungalows,
cabins, tents, etc.
Each of the campsites maintains its own character, its
individuality and its diversity. All of them have excellence, the
familiarity of the business and the objective to make their clients
“feel at home” as common factors. Experience, prestige,
quality and family style in the Pre-Pyrenees and the Pyrenees of
Lleida. We’re waiting for you!
GASTRONOMY
Given the great diversity of
landscapes the Leridian
Pyrenees offers, the flavors of its
gastronomy could not be less
genuine and varied. Coinciding in
a similar artisanal and traditional
character, the variety of products
is also significant with different
characteristics and nuances
based on the cuisine from the
Pyrenees, the Pre-Pyrenees and
the flatlands of Lleida.
Among the products, it is worth
noting the protected veal of the
Pyrenees, all of the by-products
from the slaughtering of the pork;
the cheese from Cendrat del
Montsec, the cheese and the
butter from Cadí, the dried
sausages like the famous xolis
(cured salchichón) or the girella
(the only Catalan lamb based
dried sausage). We must not
forget the products from the
garden, the fruit and the forest,
with the Niscalo mushrooms and
escargot standing out. In
addition, we have the extra virgin
olive oil from the Garrigues and
the certificate of origin wine from
the Costers del Segre.
And when referring to the typical
dishes and distinct elaborations
of meals we think of the escargot
in a variety of versions: a la
llauna (on the pan) or a la
brutesca (with abundant salt),
and other meals such as the
flatbread with escalivada (grilled
peppers and aubergine), the
cassola de tros (regional dish)
and the famous Aranese soup,
among other specialties
presented in the traditional dishes
which live in perfect harmony with
ROMANESQUE ART OF
THE BOÍ VALLEY
Time goes by slowly in the
mountain valleys of the Lleida
province. Despite its reduced
population, it has maintained its
identity with the characteristics of
its Romanesque churches,
crystalline waters, delicious
gastronomy …
From our campsites, each
experience has its own name:
that of cultural patrimony which
contains truly magnificent
constructions immersed in a
superb landscape.
The Romanesque, in all its
splendor, finds its reference point
in the Boí Valley. One of the
most interesting in Europe,
declared a World Heritage Site by
the UNESCO, are the temples
built by Taüll and Erill la Vall.
The integration, in a beautiful
natural area, of these simple and
austere constructions
complements and highlights the
landscape. How did they arrive to
these distant villages nestled in
the mountains in the 12th
century?

AIGÜESTORTES, THE
LUNG OF THE
PYRENEES
The Aigüestortes and Saint
Maurici Lake National Park is one
of the lungs of the Pyrenees of
Lleida and the only National Park
in Catalonia. It is located in the
north of Lleida between the
counties of Pallars Sobirà and
the Alta Ribagorça.
It has an extension of 14.119
hectares and was declared a
National Park in 1995. Moreover,
it is part of the Special Protected
Zone for Birds (ZEPA) and also
the Important Wetlands
International. The Portarró de
Espot pass, at a height of 2.400
meters, joins these two sectors.
The lands of the National Park
were formed in the Paleozoic era
and established on a bed slate
and granite. It has landscapes of
great beauty such as the
Colomers Couloir, the Mata of
València dÀneu, the Cabdella
lakes and the Encantados
mountains.

THE MONT-REBEI
CANYON
In this corner of the
Pre-Pyrenees, in the counties of
Noguera and Pallars Jussà, lays
the most spectacular landscape
of Catalonia in and around the
Mont-rebei canyon. It is an
incredible wall of limestone rock
crossed through by the Noguera
Ribagorzan river and is the
natural border between Catalonia
and Aragón. Spectacular not
only for visual landscape, virgin
and abrupt, but also for the
singularity of its itineraries
excavated from the rock.
Moreover, it is the only great
canyon in all of Catalonia.
The pine forests remain
secondary before the rocky walls
and the narrow passageways the
river has carved out over millions
of years keeping open the
passage from the Montsec ridge
on its way down from the
Pyrenean peaks to the valley of
the Ebro River. The canyon, with
vertical walls reaching 500
meters in some parts impresses
even the most adventurous.
This is an incomparable scene for
ornithology enthusiasts as well as
action sports as this area is one
of the preferred destinations for
hiking, mountain biking, climbing
and paragliding.

MONTSEC, STARLIGHT
DESTINATION
A great way to come to know the
Pre-Pyrenees of Lleida in
Catalonia is to travel to the
northeast of the province, in
Montsec, Starlight Destination.
There you will find a wild and
exciting territory.
Why? Because in no other place
in Catalonia can you see the
stars with such clarity. From the
Astronomy Park of Montsec you
can observe the clean and
extensive universe. In this area
you will find minimal rainfall,
moderate humidity and numerous
serene nights.
Do you feel like dreaming,
travelling, disconnecting? You
know, now, where they are
waiting for you with open arms.
And to complete your escape,
nothing better than staying in a

CADÍ-MOIXERÓ
NATURAL PARK
This protected Catalan natural
park has the largest numbers of
flora and fauna of interest in
Europe.
It has a surface area of 41.342
hectares, one of the largest
nature parks of Catalonia in
conjunction with the new Nature
Park of the Alto Pirineo. It is
includes three counties: Alt
Urgell, Berguedà and Cerdanya.
The two grand ridges of the
Cadí-Moixeró, united by the
pass called Tancalporta, make up
an incredible mountain barrier
which runs from the west to the
east along 30 km in the water
divide of the Segre (CerdanyaAltUrgell) and the Llobregat
(Barcelona).
Of significant importance is the
Pedraforca mountain as it is one
of the most visited mountains and
is steeped in Catalan alpine
tradition as it offers climbers a
perfect combination of risk and
beauty. It is one of the symbols
for hiking in Catalonia.

ALT PIRINEU NATURE
PARK
The Nature Park of the Alto
Pirineo (high Pyrenees) is
another privileged area. Its
surface area totals more than
60.000 hectares, making it the
largest of all of Catalonia. It is
nestled between Pallars Sobirà
and Alt Urgell and offers a wide
diversity of landscapes and
ecosystems.
Going into the park we can see
bears, otters, vultures, white
grouse, the Pyrenees lizard and
the Pyrenean desman, a strange
animal from the mole family
which is indigenous to the region.
There are zones which stand out
for their geological interest. The
Certascan lake, the largest
glacial lake of Catalonia, the
Cigalera of the Obaga of Valeran
(or of Jean Paul Larrégola)
which holds one of the deepest
chasms of the Catalan territory
and is home to elements of
enormous natural value, such as
a subterranean lake and various
large galleries.

VAL D’ARAN
It is at its best all year round. You
can visit Vielha, its capital, and
after wondering through its old
quarter you can decide to go on a
relaxing pleasurable get away or
to take a more active touristic
route on your mountain bike. You
will feel really moved by Val
d’Aran.
If you love the snow, Baqueira
Beret awaits you with its
neverending kilometres of every
level of ski slope. If you are a fan
of gastronomy or cultural tourism,
you may wish to lose yourself in
its villages, museums and
churches. However, if you simply
love nature you will find the
views, the woods, and the
waterfalls unforgetttable…In
conclusion, if you enjoy the good
life keep the Val d’Aran in
mind…

The 15 BIKE & RUN campsites
offer more than 60 routes to
enjoy and discover, in a leisurely
or sportive manner. Hiking,
running or mountain biking
through these singular
landscapes, natural space,
historic routes or livestock trails is
guaranteed pleasure; you only
have to follow the green trails of
the CB&R – a pioneer and
unknown initiative as all the
routes have a start and a finish
from each of the participating
campsites. Moreover, the routes
are perfectly marked.

CLIMBING PARADISE
Sant Llorenc de Montgai and
Camarasa, in the region of La
Noguera (Pre-Pyrenees of
Lleida), are some of the oldest
climbing areas in Catalonia.
Along with Santa Lina, Cubells,
Tartareu, Vilanova de Meia
Tarradets offer a variety of paths
open.
Sant Llorenc de Montgai, most of
the walls are located in the
valleys facing south. Therefore,
the climbing routes are in good
conditions during the fall, winter
and spring. Orientated to
Camarasa, the tracks are
northwest and, therefore, are
perfect for summer mornings.
In the region of Alta Ribagorza,
near the Cavallers dam are
numerous ways with different
difficulties, ranging from 10 to
1,000m climbing on a magnificent
granite. We also find ways in the
area of the refuge Ventosa i
Calvell and Agulles
de Travessani i Mangades.

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED
RAFTING?
Do you need to burn adrenaline?
If the answer is yes, rafting is
perfect for you. Running down
rivers of varied difficulty in a
canoe or kayak.
Depending on the turbulence, the
speed of the current and the
presence or lack of whirlpools,
each section of the river will have
a different difficulty grade. Find
yourself and enjoy practicing this
sport in a group; always with the
necessary equipment and a
qualified guide or instructor.

SKI BOÍ TAÜLL
Boi Taull ski resort offers
everything the skier could wish
for in order to enjoy his or her
favourite sport.
At the highest point of the
Pyrenees 2.751m and 2.020m at
its lowest point, it is privileged
facing north and guarantees
excellent snow quality during the
whole season.

SKI ALT URGELL
Situated between Alt Urgell and
Pallars, in Alt Pirineu’s
natural park, we find Sant Joan
de l’Erm, which is a pioneer
in Nordic skiing in our country. It
boasts circuits for all levels of
skiing or racket skiing over
spectacular fir, birch and black
pine tree forests.
In this region you will also find the
Nordic ski spot Tuixent La Vansa.

SKI CERDANYA
LLES CERDANYA
Located in the western part of the
Sierra del Cadi, over an
exceptional view of the Pyrenees.
Besides skiing, you can make
nature walks with snowshoes in a
closed circuit of 10 Km. It is a
unique way to enjoy the woods
and nature.

SKI PORT DEL COMTE
Located in the country of
Solsonès, on the northern slope
of the Querol mountain range,
near the Tossal de Estivella.
This resort starts at 1.700m and
reaches 2.400m in altitude. There
are a total of 16 lifts with a
capacity of transporting 16.060
people per hour. The snow
production system is made up of
256 snow machines spread over
37 pistes.

SKI PALLARS
Port Aine has over 30 km of
slopes and 800 vertical meters
suitable for all levels and types of
skiers or snowboarders. All tracks
are in the Natural Park of the
High Pyrenees and stand out for
their integration into a mountain
landscape and its wonderful
views towards the Pyrenees.
Spot is the only station located
next to Aigüestortes and Sant
Maurici National Park. The resort
has over 20km of ski slopes and
1,000 vertical meters. The tracks
are well known for being in lush
pine forests.
Tavascan, in addition of being the
only station in Pallars Sobirà and
within the domain of SkiPallars
has a Nordic ski circuit, being a
family station, with a high
mountain environment for
enthusiasts of alpine skiing,
snowboarding or cross-country
skiing.

SKI VAL D’ARAN
BAQUEIRA BERET
The resort of the Val d’Aran
gets its name from the village of
Baqueira and the Beret flats,
which is on the way to Montgarri.
It has 35 lifts with a transport
capacity of 60.683 people per
hour.
For the more adventurous,
Bassibe, which was a peak
reserved exclusively for free
riders and backcountry skiers
decided to climb to its summit,
has bas been opened with an
easy access to its different runs
by the new Saumet lift.
In Baqueira Beret there are
options for everyone! You can
also enjoy snowshoe excursions,
backcountry skiing, heli-ski,
hiking, sledding etc.

PARAGLIDING IN
MONTSEC
Discover Montsec from the skies
is possible in Lleida. An
experience which will not leave
you indifferent.
Suspended, with a sail or hang
glider, you enter the world of free
flying and discover the beauty of
the landscape high over the fields
and cliffs after taking off from the
Montsec ridge located in the
Lleida province. A complete
valley at your fingertips from the
sky.
As a result of the uniqueness of
