THE SOLUTION Priefert Complex Designs· 2630 S Jefferson · Mt Pleasant, TX 75455 www.priefertcomplexdesigns.com · [email protected] · 800-527-8616 April 2013 In April, AIP Architecture of Norman, OK and Priefert Complex Designs will begin programming and initial design of major improvements at the Woodward County, OK Fairgrounds. Current plans call for the demolition of existing buildings, the addition of a 56,000 square foot exhibition arena and 14,000 square feet of office and training space for the Oklahoma State Extension Service. Two existing buildings will be upgraded and repurposed to accommodate the growing activities at the Fairgrounds. Shortly after a late February trip to Alberta to review the grounds and confirm measurements, Priefert was awarded the contract to provide a whole new look for the Calgary Stampede. Thanks in part to the great job Priefert’s Bryan Northcutt did to make everything fit, twenty‐nine bucking chutes along with new arena panels and all accessories are currently in production at Priefert and scheduled for delivery by May 15th to this world famous venue. We are very proud of the fact that a primary issue in the decision making process for the officials at Calgary was “safety”. With every feature and detail considered in what is best for both man and animal, Priefert Rodeo Equipment stood out as the clear leader. Bill and Shayne Priefert along with David and Jody Fillebrown have accepted invitations from Stampede officials to see the new chutes in performance at this year’s event. If you are lucky enough to be in Calgary in July, look for the new chutes; otherwise TV coverage is sure to offer good close‐ ups! Page 2 The Solution Priefert Complex Designs has been awarded a contract for providing schematic design and budgeting for a new multi‐ purpose venue in Childress, TX. The project will support numerous activities in Childress County and the neighboring areas. Among the planned activities are 4‐H events, high school events, livestock shows, rodeos, trade shows, support of emergency personnel and civic and community functions. The schematic design will be presented to public officials to determine the feasibility of what could be a difference making venture for the Childress area. With construction in full swing on the Equine Initiative at College Station, TX the equestrian team for Texas A&M is getting excited. Diamond Series Priefert Stalls, two Panel Walkers, round pens, Ponderosa Fence warm‐up arenas, and more will be installed during the month of July. The state‐of‐ the‐art stall barn, training center and competition venue will undoubtedly be the talk of the collegiate equestrian world as teams from across the country will be invited to visit and compete at the newest facility in the land. From PCD’s roll as primary consultant to Kirksey Architecture for everything related to horses to the delivery and installation of Priefert equipment, this project will serve as a hallmark for our company’s presence in the equine world for generations to come. In all, we have provided almost 1700 new Expo Stalls to aid in expanding and upgrading the facilities around the Will Rogers Coliseum. The City has committed to an aggressive campaign in the competition to attract bigger and better horse shows. Of course, these improvements have a huge impact on the Fort Worth Stock Show as well. Priefert is proud to be part of that movement and looks forward to continued growth at this historical facility. Our team at PCD is working closely with key church members to bring a dream to reality for approximately 1200 active members of an East Texas community. The steel has been ordered and dirt is expected to turn this month at the Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum, TX. Complete with Priefert Arena, bucking chutes and roping chute, Bar None’s arena will be a model other cowboy churches would love to emulate. Priefert Complex Designs ∙ P.O. Box 1540 ∙ Mt. After being bought and donated back two times, the final bidder brought the total dollars raised to $20,500. Jerry & Donna Sue Henry of the Frio River Cattle Company outside Karnes City, TX were very happy to take home this one‐of‐a‐ kind Priefert chute personally autographed by George. Priefert and the GSTRC were proud to divide the proceeds equally between the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund and Western Wishes. Several projects are in the works as word spreads about PCD and our ability to help owners and architects with livestock related facilities. Our business continues to grow stronger every day as demand for good design, good advice and good equipment always seems appreciated. Priefert Complex Designs ∙ P.O. Box 1540 ∙ Mt.
