East Anglian Railway Museum
The most comprehensive collection of railway architecture, locomotives, coaches, wagons and ephemera in the region set on the operational rail line from Mark’s Tey to Sudbury. Set on the edge of Constable Country adjacent to the second largest rail viaduct in Eastern England the Complex of Victorian
buildings has a unique story to tell of railways in East Anglia from the 1840’s through to the 21st Century. A registered Museum and part of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
Open every day from 10:00 until 16:30 the Museum also operates a range of special event days from
Days Out With Thomas to Spanning the Century. With classic steam locomotives and vintage diesels
in a period setting what a better way to enjoy
the sights, sounds and smells of yesteryear.

activity we run pre-booked Railway Experience
Days where you can drive a steam locomotive or diesel multiple unit, be a signalman, guard or crossing keeper. Finally to end the year why not combine a Day Out With Thomas the Tank Engine and
Friends and a visit to Santa during December.
If you have a few days a year, or one day a week come and join our team and become a member. No

Rainbow Donkeys
Rainbow Donkeys are based on the Essex/Suffolk border, midway between Colchester and
Sudbury. We aim to work within a 20 mile radius but are happy to discuss terms for events
slightly further afield.
As well as children's donkey rides, donkeys are also available for special events, school visits,
festivals and promotional work.
Want something a bit different at your child's birthday party? I can bring along one or two
donkeys for the kids to ride and get to know. Or need a very popular addition to your fete or
fair? Kids love donkeys and donkeys love kids!
The donkeys are led at all times and safety is paramount, as is the welfare of the donkeys.
The rides are aimed at smaller children and are totally at the discretion of the owner. Our six
donkeys are fully licensed by the Council and have been passed by a vet as fit to work. We are

Firstly for your patience when our computer systems went down before Christmas, just
at our busiest time! The dispensers at Capel St Mary managed manfully by hand writing
the prescriptions and the staff on both sites did their best to cope with the situation, but
obviously there were serious delays in getting repeat prescriptions out to patients and we
are grateful for your understanding.
Indirectly as a result of this, we are upgrading our computer system in January and by
the time you read this, all the work should be complete. We are grateful once again for
your understanding while this work was carried out.
And finally, a big thank you to everyone who so kindly brought presents of chocolates,
biscuits and alcohol to the surgery before Christmas. The staff are extremely appreciative
of your kind thoughts and best wishes.

River Stour Boating
COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY
THE RIVER STOUR AND DEDHAM VALE AREA
OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY
The River Stour, made famous by the many paintings of John Constable, has now become accessible
to those wishing to experience some of England’s most beautiful countryside.
A group of retired River Stour enthusiasts have formed a not for profit Community Interest
Company that is operated entirely with volunteers.
They are providing guided parties, consisting of two person Canadian
canoes along the navigable length of the river from Sudbury in
Suffolk to the Cattawade estuary on the Essex coast
Passing through the beautiful villages of Bures, Nayland, Stratford St. Mary, Dedham and Flatford.
The journey takes two days with a stop over camp on the river’s edge at Rushbanks Farm, Wissington.
River Stour Boating Community Interest Company, the organisation running the operation will supply
canoes, life jackets and all other safety equipment, as well as tents and camping equipment. Food and
beverages from the start of the journey is also provided.
Finally, at Cattawade, journey’s end the RSB minibus is waiting to take you back to Sudbury to collect
your own transport

Dear Howard
Well, as with all situations in life a positive mental
attitude is essential as is a capacity to count your
blessings.
I've had two bypass operations, a hip
replacement and two new knees, I've only got
one eye and my hearing is defective. My memory is not what it used to be. Also my
memory is not what it used to be.But I am thankful that I still have my drivers licence. It
is such a joy to hear the friendly beeps and see the cheery waves of fellow travellers.
Recently I got my GP's permission to join a seniors aerobics class. I bent and twisted,
gyrated, jumped up and down, but by the time I got my leotard on the class was over!
Just remember You don't stop laughing because you get old, you grow old because you
stop laughing.
