The tile specified for the lobby and lobby bathrooms is 24x24 Marble Cappuccino and Black Galaxy, but this material
only comes in a 12x12 and 18x18.
The tile specified for the Restroom floors and walls is Tilecrest Kyle series, but that series has been discontinued.
Please advise.

I was unable to find anything that pertains to this particular project, regarding the
construction schedule. Bid Dohs from the 2008 City Clerk project were included and that
schedule was 150 calendar days. Are we to figured 150 calendar days for this project
too? Based on my calculations, this project would be completed before December 31,
2011; please verify this is correct.

outlined in the RFP, the proposals will be scored partly on
proposed schedules from Design-Build entities. In any
event, it is expected by the Owner that the building will be
designed and built as soon as possible, but schedule will
ultimately be negotiated with Design-Build team.

Upon review of the 08700 (Finish Hardware) specifications for RFP/DB: 2011 City
Hall Tenant Improvements (DESIGN/BUILD), scheduled for bid on 5/11/2011 we
note the following proprietary listings:
LCN - Closers; Sargent - Locksets;
Von Duprin - Exit Devices
These specifications do not apprear to be in compliance with the intent of
the California Contract Code 3400.
Aside from keying to match an existing system (cylinders), the
products listed above are not unique in application, performance,
or use, where industry known equivalents are available.
The statute contains a provision 3400(b) subsection (1) which allows for a
field test or experiment to be made to determine the suitability for future
use.
To clarify use of this particular

and schedules the Owner/Designer

like to competitively bid RFP/DB: 2011 City Hall Tenant Improvements

unsubstantiated rejection, and undo hardship, generated by single source

origination, and current formal adoption do not address this speoific
