February 20-22, Tet Festival
Helping preserve Vietnamese culture, the Tet Festival attracts
and audience of over 100,000 and hundreds of booths in a
span of a three day weekend event. Visitors are immersed
with a vibrant array of traditional foods, live entertainment,
festive games and customs celebrating the Vietnamese Lunar
New Year, the year of the Goat.

February 21, The Kid’s Pet Parade
Part of the annual Fiesta de las Golondrinas celebration. Kids
between the ages of 5 and 12 can show off their favorite
animals in a contest for The Cutest, Most Unusual, Best
Team Costume (owner and pet), Funniest and Most
Obedient (the pet, not the child). A special Judges Choice
prize will be awarded and this winner will be given the
opportunity to be in the Swallows’ Day Parade.

February 21-22, Irvine Park Railroad
Anniversary Celebration
To celebrate their 19th year of business and to show
appreciation to all their loyal customers, Irvine Park is rolling
back to their original 1996 prices during their anniversary
weekend, including $2.00 train rides! The anniversary
celebration will also feature other $2.00 activities and
concessions such as carnival games, hot dogs, sodas, ice
creams, popcorn, bounce house and cotton candy. Face
painting and panning for gold require two $2.00 tickets. Free
giveaways include Irvine Park Railroad balloons.

February 28, Los Alamitos ‘Race on the Base’
The yearly event has continued to provide not only a forum for
local avid runners and walkers, but has also instilled a sense of
pride and teamwork between the Los Alamitos City Council,
the citizens of Los Alamitos, the Rossmoor Community Services
District, and the local business community. The race is held on
the runways at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos
and features helicopters, planes and military vehicles with
music throughout the course. Events and activities for the
entire family!

February 1, Wonder of Dinosaurs
A blast from the past! Museum-quality robotic and static
dinosaurs are beautifully displayed with detailed scientific
informational signs and some dinosaur facts for learning,
too! The display has dinosaur-themed fun for everyone:
Bouncers, zoomers, Dino Ride, gemstone and fossil panning,
coloring station, miniature golf, a walk through maze and
more. Event and displays begins February 1, and goes
through September 2015.

February 1, China’s Lost Civilization: The Mystery
of Sanxingdui
During the summer of 1986, construction workers
accidentally uncovered an astounding cache of more than
200 ancient jade objects, weapons, burned animal bones,
over 60 elephant tusks, monumental bronzes, and a lifesized statue of a nobleman at Sanxingdui, about 24 miles
outside of the Sichuan Province capitol of Chengdu. The
Mystery of Sanxingdui museum displays include objects from
the discovery termed “the ninth wonder of the world” and
acknowledged by many scholars as one of the greatest
archaeological finds ever to be unearthed. Now through
March 15, 2015.

February 1, Surf City USA Marathon & Half Marathon
This exclusive oceanfront course is a California dream! Run on
Pacific Coast Highway past the famous Huntington Beach pier
and wind through the legendary surfing beaches of Southern
California. Retro surf bands entertain with music along the way
and the finish line festivities will include a beach side beer
garden in the California sun. Finishers receive bodacious
surfboard medals!

February 3, Surf City Nights
Surf City Nights is Huntington Beach’s answer to the
nighttime shopping-and-eating craze. Every Tuesday
night Main St. closes between Orange and PCH for
a food and live music festival. A certified farmers’
market, Surf City Nights offers a dazzling array of
the freshest fruits and vegetables (all locally sourced,
of course), as well as treasures from more than 90
unique vendors selling everything from flowers to
jewelry to handmade soap. There’s roasted corn,
funnel cake, kettle corn, and more. And, it’s totally free
(and easy) to get in.

February 7, Monster Jam Monster Trucks
Monster Jam is the world’s largest and most famous monster
truck tour featuring the biggest names in monster trucks

evening for the entire family!

February 12, Taste of San Juan
Help kick-off celebration of the Fiesta de las Golondrinas.

The Timberwolf 5K Run/Walk, and the 1K Fun

School and Families Forward, a local non-profit providing
supported housing programs, counseling, food, referrals,
