Helping to Create Closeness One Relationship at a Time
Everyone has relationships. Whether relationships are at
work, in a marriage, involving family dynamics, raising
your children or enjoying friends and loved ones, all of these
relationships can have very good and very bad times. We at
Relationship Solutions can help you create healthy attitudes
in all of your relationships.
1320 Tower Road, Suite 160

We treat the whole person through solution-focused
strategies that identify relationship issues and help you
solve them. The three main ways a relationship can be
helped is by addressing these four very different
points: • Depression
• Anxiety
• Self-Esteem
• Couples Issues
Our philosophy encourages solutionfocused strategies with the identification of
problematic or negative thoughts that contribute to negative self-esteem, feelings of
depression and/or anxiety. We help individuals identify thought patterns and
learn new skills that help them live in the
solution rather than the problem.

God's Pharmacy.....Amazing!
A sliced carrot looks like the human eye, the pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the
human eye ... and YES science now shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and
function of the eyes.
A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the
research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell
and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing
food.
A walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower
cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now
know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly
like the human kidneys.
Celery, bok choy, rhubarb and more look just like bones. "These foods specifically target
bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have
enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These
foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Eggplant, avocado's and pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats l avocado
a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers.
And how profound is this? .... It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom
to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each
one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the motility of male
sperm and increase the numbers of sperm cells to overcome male sterility.
Sweet potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of
diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.
Grapefruits, oranges, and other citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the
female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and
out of the breasts.
Onions look like body cells. Today's research shows that onions help clear waste
materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial
layers of the eyes.

A Woman You Should Know
Dr Amy Derick—Most Likely to Succeed!
“Motivation, sense of purpose, commitment to excellence!”
Her father woke her up with these words every morning before school. Dr.
Amy Derick was taught from a young age that school was her job. “My
focus on studies and participation in sports took up all my time,” she says.
When she wasn’t studying, she was participating in soccer, volleyball or
cheer leading. It paid off. She was named “most likely to succeed” when
she graduated from William Fremd High School in 1994.
Succeed she did. She was accepted to the University of Notre Dame as a
Notre Dame Scholar and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine
summa cum laude. She then attended the University of Chicago Pritzker
School of Medicine, where she decided she wanted to be a dermatologist,
and received her medical degree with honors. She was given the American
Medical Women’s Association Award for outstanding scholastic achievement
and the Catherine Dobson Prize for her clinical research.
Following an internal medicine internship at Northwestern Memorial
Hospital, she returned to the University of Chicago Medical Center for her
dermatology residency. She served as chief resident and received a Women’s
Dermatologic Society’s Mentorship Award to study cutaneous laser surgery.
Her father’s words played over and over in her head as she made it through
the equivalent of the 24th grade.
“My favorite part of my job is educating my patients about their skin,” Dr.
Derick says. “I enjoy helping them feel and look better.” She appreciates
the relationship she has with each patient, and she strives for the highest
quality care and customized treatment. Because Dr. Derick is a board

the best advice for their medical and aesthetic concerns. With an increase
in ads from spas in shopping malls and untrained physicians offering laser
treatments and injections, Dr. Derick’s goal is to provide safer options for
patients. Derick Dermatology is preferred by patients who demand the highest
quality treatments and procedures, performed by a physician who focused
three years of her medical residency solely on the skin (dermatology).
Due to their caring nature, women often think of others more than themselves.
“Taking care of your skin is an essential part of living a healthy life,” Dr.
Derick reminds us, “and women should feel good devoting time to their
own health and happiness.” Women devote a lot of energy attending to the
needs of their parents, their husbands and their children, but they need to
carve off a little time each day for themselves as well.
Dr. Derick understands the need for balance because she has a growing
family of her own. In 2005, she and Michael Derick (who is now her
husband) lived in the same building in Chicago’s West Loop but never

A Woman You Should Know Sue Lapetina
By Hope Morley and Rachel Runnals
In 1990, Sue Lapetina had just been promoted to a claims management position
at State Farm Insurance and was starting a new relationship. Then, at the age of
36, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
A biopsy revealed that Sue had invasive lobular carcinoma in her right breast.
This type of cancer grows in the lobules of the breast where milk is produced.
It was also discovered that she was lymph node and hormone positive, which
means that cancer cells had migrated to her lymph nodes and that the cancer
was exasperated by her body’s own estrogen.
Over the course of the next 18 months, Sue underwent a mastectomy,
chemotherapy and three plastic surgeries. Because her cancer was hormone
positive, she was also on hormone therapy medication to suppress the growth
of the cancer.
Sue says she had great support
throughout her treatment, both from
her family and boyfriend, Steve
Ault. She continued to work while
undergoing chemo and said her coworkers were amazed at her positive
attitude and desire to keep working.

“In the end, doing the presentations
became my catharsis. I learned to talk
about my diagnosis openly, which in
turn helped others,” she said. Sue still
tries to do three or four presentations
a year in her community.
Breast Cancer Network of Strength’s

touched by breast cancer, and include
a 24/7 Hotline, support groups, educational workshops and more.
“I admire the passion and dedication this organization has for the cause,” Sue said.
“I came out the other side with a clear understanding of what was important
and where I wanted to be, which was different from the path I was on at
the time,” Sue said. “I got off the fast track and began concentrating on
building relationships.”
One such relationship was Ault, who supported Sue through her treatment and
recovery. The two married in 2004 and now live in West Chicago with their two
cats, Noodles and Bentley.
Two years after her diagnosis, Sue’s oncologist Dr. Kathy Albain referred her
to Breast Cancer Network of Strength, then known as Y-ME National Breast
Cancer Organization. The Chicago-based organization was starting a program
called “Just for Teens” that was aimed at educating high school girls about
breast health.
“My primary reason for volunteering was that, as an adult, I was so uneducated
on the subject of breast cancer. I felt strongly that getting information into the
hands of young women about early detection was critical,” she said.
Eighteen years after her diagnosis, Sue has no regrets about her experience with
breast cancer. “Although I wouldn't wish this on anyone, I would not change
going through the experience. It changed me for the better.”

A Woman You Should Know
Luann Bauer – Breast Cancer Survivor
Owner of Lulu’s Wiggin’ Out
Everyday cancer changes some ones life in a way they never expected. For Luann Bauer
it is what led her to find her purpose in life. Five years ago this June, Luann was told she had
Breast Cancer and it was at that moment that her world stopped. “I felt scared and alone. You
can’t imagine the way a person feels when they are given that kind of news”. Along with the
prescription of chemotherapy and radiation, Luann was told she was going to lose her hair.
Thus began one of the most stressful and emotional journeys of her life.
Luann set out to find anything that would allow her to feel as much like herself as possible
once her hair was gone, but with each store she became more and more discouraged. With
time running short, she decided on a $2000 human hair wig. The women at the store assured
Luann that she needed to spend that kind of money in order to get a quality wig. “It was
the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned.” Luann says of the wig. After several attempts
to fix the wig, she set out to find a second option. Disheartened by the fact that something
so awful could cost so much, Luann wasn’t quite sure of what was out there. What she
found was a little wig shop by the name of Wiggin Out, where she purchased synthetic
wigs of great quality at costs that were far less; about $1800 less. She soon became their
best customer. To her surprise, she began to fall in love with the wigs, purchasing different
styles for different occasions. To her new found satisfaction she stated,

er. It just so happened that the owner of Wiggin Out was relocating

to California and Luann’s husband knew of a great place for a shop
custo
off Route 31 in Algonquin. Still,
she wasn’t quite sure.
Sometime later, Luann was
stopped at a red light in front of the
shop her husband had mentioned.
To her surprise, the license plates
on the car in front of her read
in abbreviation, “Wiggin Out”
followed by the n u m b e r ” 4 ” .
(Coincidentally, Luann now has four
wonderful employees, all a perfect
fit for the shop). Soon after, in early
2005, Luann bought out Wiggin Out
and changed the name to Lulu’s Wiggin Out, a nickname given to her by her then three year
old twin nieces.
Now, just three and a half years later, Lulu’s Wiggin Out provides wigs and chemo
accessories to women from all over. Her compassionate staff is careful to take time with
each customer, listening to their stories and finding exactly what each person needs. “Wigs
are the one thing you can have fun with when you are going through cancer” says Luann.
It is one of the goals of the shop to have women leaving happier than when they came in.
In early in 2008, Luann opened a second store inside The Complete Bridal Salon and
Plaza in Downtown West Dundee. Though the Algonquin shop focuses mainly on the wigs,
both store feature hairpieces, one of a kind jewelry, unique purses, hats, and clothing, as
well as fun luggage. It is Luann’s goal to let women know that wigs can be for everyone.
She says, “You don’t have to be sick to wear a wig”. In fact, Luann, almost five years in
remission, still wears wigs to this day. It is a rare thing to see her without one. One can
easily say that she knows her product well.

A Woman You Should Know
Hair is a Woman's Crown & Glory
Patricia Fragen —
Looking for More Davids
To me, hair is the most important thing
for a woman. It doesn’t matter what
you’re wearing, if your hair looks
good, you will feel great! There is
a difference in wig dressers just like
there is a difference in hair dressers.
Wigs are my passion; I feel in life
you should do what your best at.
Patricia Fragen’s daughter, Melissa
Anna Fragen, lay suffering from
osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. The
disease is slowly taking over her body
as Fragen and her daughter exchange
words about everybody they are
grateful for that have helped them get
through tough hospital stays and long
treatments. David comes quickly to
both their minds, and Melissa looks
at her mom and says, “Everybody
deserves a David.” Together, they
decided to make it happen.
Recognizing how traumatizing it
is for a woman to lose her hair,
Linda DiFronzo
DiFronzo takes the time to sit down
and have a consultation with her
clients. She looks at the client’s hair, or pictures, for texture and
style. She can add curl, take curl away, change the part, cut the
wig and style it. Her biggest compliment is when friends, family,
doctors or technicians asks one of her clients going through
chemotherapy “why haven’t you lost your hair yet.”

Normal Moments, together. Whether they were at the hospital for two
days or several weeks, Melissa’s music teacher, David, was caring for
their dogs, plants and house. “I can’t even imagine what it would
have been like without him,” Fragen says. “He allowed me to maintain
my business.” Fragen is the entrepreneur behind a small business

background to start Normal Moments. To keep her up-to-date, David
retrieved and read her mail to her regularly, allowing her to keep her
bills paid. He, or neighbors, cut her grass when necessary, shoveled the
snow off her driveway and did everything else they could. She modeled

With 29yrs of experience, Linda has one of a kind talent. Linda
makes sure every wig is fit properly so it can look as natural as
possible. She emphasizes the importance of going to a licensed
hairdresser who is experienced with wigs. Cutting hair is much
different than cutting and sizing wigs. “If you go to a proper
person, you should look the same way as before you lost your
hair”, she says. “There is no reason somebody has to walk out
looking like they have a wig.”
When Fragen needed somebody to talk to, her friend, Sheryl, was there
to reminisce about her similar experience. And when her daughter
stopped eating everything but sushi, friends and family created the
“Sushi Fund” at her favorite restaurant. Melissa, who dreamed of
being a pediatric oncologist since the age of eight and was a focused
student who planned to attend Northwestern University, passed away
on April 1, 2007.
When Linda designed Hair For You Salon, she wanted to make
sure that when people came in the door they instantly felt
comfortable. The environment is both relaxing and inviting,
and offers privacy rooms for hair loss consultations. Linda is
dedicated with helping clients get their confidence back and to
help regain their energy to overcome cancer. Clients have come
in ready to give up, traumatized by both the illness and the loss
of their hair. I want to give women the power to fight off this
disease. “If you can look in the mirror and be happy, it helps
with recovery,” she says. Clients call thanking her and telling
her they are in remission.
Fragen has since kept the foundation growing. She and a group of
volunteers, recognized as “Davids,” take care of in-home tasks, such
as house cleaning, lawn care, snow removal, pet care, plant care, mail,
garbage and recycling, and others, titled “I-beams,” take care of inhospital tasks, such as parental empowerment, critical care support
and in-hospital support for parents who have a child with a critical

share feelings with who’s been through a comparable situation.
The organization currently has 20 volunteers but is in need of many
more; they are currently serving 33 families. It is not a daily task.
“People aren’t usually in the hospital for a long stay,” Fragen says.
Volunteering is sporadic. “You have to be prepared for the call,
‘we just got admitted,’” she says. She feels many don’t know how
important having somebody’s help is.
DiFronzo also uses her experience and skills to volunteer outside
of work. She participates in the “Look Good, Feel Better”
program with the American Cancer Society to help women in
cancer treatment with their skin and makeup. She also hosts
benefits at the salon to raise money for cancer patients. For the
month of October, pink hair extensions can be purchased for $10

A Woman You Should Know
Who Says "Car Dealerships Are Run By Men?"
By Ashleigh Eisbrener
Woody Buick, Pontiac, GMC is owned by a man but run predominantly
by women. After having a woman manager at another dealership, he was
astounded by her attention to detail and listening skills. And unlike some
car dealerships, Owner Woody—a self-made man who worked his way
up from a salesperson—can be found in the show room.
The staff at Woody BPG believes in total disclosure and doesn’t push
or hassle you. Their best price is given upfront. Buyers are pleasantly
surprised at how different and fairly they are treated when they walk
through the door. Their honesty and reliability has earned them one
of the highest customer ratings in the area. “Constantly we hear from
customers that it was the best experience they have ever had,” General
Manager Carey Lynch says.
They allow customers to take home a car and test drive it for the day, and
they’re the only dealership in the area to offer valet service, meaning if
you purchase a car from Woody BPG and you have a car problem,
a worker from the service department will come pick up your car,
drop you off a loaner to drive, service you car and bring it back
washed and cleaned for no charge. “You’re not going to be without
wheels,” Carey says.
Meet the Women Behind Woody Buick, Pontiac, GMC:

woman, she can relate to people’s needs. When
customers, predominantly women, come in
with no credit, she understands. “Secondary
does not always mean bad credit,” Carey says.
For example women who get divorced or are
widowed may have owned a car for 15 years,
but everything was in their husband’s name. She is not the type that will

tells people upfront what they need before they come in. “She has all her
ducks in a row,” Carey says. “And she really tries to help them.”
Carey set out to look for a car on her own years
ago and was astounded by how rudely she was
treated. “I was looking on my own, and it was my

says, “and they kept saying ‘come back with your

it be to be honest and forthright.’ A worker at one
dealership overheard her complaining and said,
“If you think it’s easy, you try it.” She did. And she’s been in the business
now for 10 years. “I tried it, and I loved it,” Carey says.
She worked her way up from salesperson to general manager and is proud
to be one of the women behind the dealership. She enjoys interacting with
people daily and loves to dispel the “typical car dealer” myth. She is an
extremely hard worker—sometimes putting in 65 hours a week. She is also
a single mother of three girls, and during her visitation weekends with her
children, she is given Saturdays off. “Having Saturdays off is unheard of
in this industry,” she says. When she took the job, she told Woody she’d
always have the chance to be a Salesman of the Month but never have a
chance to be a mother. He made it so she could have both.
She has heard everything and is never judgmental. She is patient and
happy to speak with and educate each customer whether they have credit
issues or are confused with how the plan works. Claudia has a private
number that rings directly to her cell phone, so customers can work directly

Mary Froelich
— Leasing Manager
Mary, who’s from a large family with many brothers,
developed an interest in cars from a young age. “Her
product knowledge is unbelievable,” says Carey.
“She knows more about cars than most guys do.” In
the 20 years she has been in the car industry, she has
won every award given. People drive from Chicago
just to say hello to her.
Lauri Fortune — Comptroller
Lauri grew up in the Elgin area and has 20
years of experience in the car business. Carey
describes her as “the glue that keeps everything
together.” She handles the business’ financial
ends.
Lauri is level-headed, firm and
organized, making her a great money manager.
“She looks out for every penny that’s spent,”
Carey says. Outside of work, she is a fulltime mom for three children.
She is also trustworthy and reliable. When
customers call her needing something, she has everything worked
out and ready when they walk through the door. She recognizes how
valuable people’s time is.

A Woman You Should Know
Judith Wright
By Ashleigh Eisbrener, Staff Writer
How did a former fat girl from the factory town of Flint, Michigan
end up as a lifestyles expert being interviewed by Diane Sawyer on
Good Morning America? The path that led Judith Wright to this place
in her life isn’t what you might expect.
Judith is the founder of the Chicago-based Wright Leadership
Institute and the author of The One Decision and The Soft Addiction
Solution. A pioneer in human development, she is also the founder
of the Society of Femininity in Action, a cutting-edge woman’s
organization. She has become a media favorite, appearing on over
400 radio stations and 70 television shows, including 20/20, Oprah,
the Today show and Good Morning America and newspapers and
magazines across the country, including Marie Claire, Fitness
Magazine, The Chicago Tribune and The Detroit Free Press. The San
Francisco Chronicle called her “one of the most sought-after selfhelp gurus in the country.” Through her writing, teaching, coaching,
and public speeches, Wright clarifies what it takes to have it all.
Judith grew up in a factory town watching people trudge through
the daily grind of working on the assembly line, then escaping to the
corner bar or plopping in front of the TV to chase away the tedium.
“They got paid well. They had benefits,” she says, “but they were
also zoned out, numbed out and in a rut and routine. I thought, ‘is
this all there is?’”
She knew that she wanted something else out of life and tried to
get it. She excelled in school but academic excellence didn’t mean
much in a community that venerated football heroes, not brains. She
led activities from being yearbook editor to class officer, committee
volunteer to drum majorette. Yet something was still missing. Even
with all of this success, she was fat and unhappy—a chubby teenager
who tried to fill her emptiness by gobbling cookies in front of the TV
before heading off to do her homework.
Judith kept trying to get more out of life—graduating high school
as valedictorian and going on to graduate summa cum laude from
her college. She continued to excel—reaching national prominence
in two different careers before the age of 28. Still unhappy, she kept
looking for what would fulfill her. She finally lost the weight that
had plagued her childhood and adolescent years. Still pursuing the
American dream, she married her college sweetheart, a handsome
man with a genius IQ.
Finally—she had it all—she was thin, successful, and married to a
gorgeous, intelligent man. But inside she was miserable. Nothing
had really changed. Friends were constantly telling her she was so
lucky. She didn’t think so. “I thought, I can’t live like this,” she says.
“This is horribly wrong.” Instead of facing her problems, she went
shopping or gossiped with friends—activities she now calls “soft
addictions.”
Something was missing, but she wasn’t sure what. She knew one
thing—she didn’t want to live this way for the next 60 years. She was
doing cutting-edge work at the time, establishing model programs
for disabled college students to attend school. “There was something
the

about working with people
who were paraplegics,
quadriplegics,hadcerebral
palsy or mental illness,”
she says. “I started to
notice the differences
between the students I was
counseling. Some were
embracing their lives fully
with a sense of joy and
adventure,” Wright says,
“while others seemed
to define themselves as
victims.”
Then it hit her. “It was not
about having the perfect
body, or mind, or even
circumstances,” she says.
The students she counseled certainly did not have perfect bodies or
minds, and they often faced horrific circumstances. Yet despite their
situations, many of the students were living a happier, more fulfilling
life than she was, even with all of her external successes. According
to Judith, “They made a choice about how they were going to live,
what I ended up calling a One Decision.” At this moment, Wright
made her One Decision. She decided to stop “sleepwalking” through
her life and to wake up, feel, be present, and embrace life.
She added activities and people into her life to meet her deeper
soul hungers rather than her superficial needs. After trying to work
through the difficulties of her marriage, she finally let go of what
looked great on the outside, but was empty on the inside. She started
dating again, being more real and truthful. That’s when she met her
husband Bob. They had long conversations full of truth and feedback.
He was the type of person that she was striving to be. They later
married and went on to co-found the Wright Leadership Institute in
Chicago, sharing the secrets to a great life through their trainings and
proven curriculum.
And now people from all walks of life attend Wright Leadership
Institute programs and courses to learn the life skills that Judith
discovered the hard way. Their clients experience the sense of
satisfaction and fulfillment that comes from having success in every
area of their life from career, relationships and family life to health
and spirituality. “There is a lot more to life,” she says. “And most
people settle or give up.” Judith and Bob re-awaken the possibilities
within people and then give them the proven and practical tools they
need to succeed through a unique three-pronged approach—coaching,
group training, and learning laboratories.

A Woman You Should Know
Anita Padilla— From Humble Beginnings
By Ashleigh Eisbrener, Staff Writer
She overcame a challenged childhood, got through her parents divorce
and dealt with her mother’s death all before she graduated college. She
is now one of Chicago’s talented and successful broadcast journalists,
a loved wife and mother and she gives back to the community. To top
it off, she achieved everything herself.
Anita Padilla was born second of four children to two Mexican-American
parents and grew up as a self-described tomboy in nearby Waukegan.
She reminisces on the great relationship she had with her mother growing
up. Padilla didn’t know her dad well during her childhood. He worked
three jobs to put food on the table for the family of six. She describes

followed her throughout her life.
During her school years at Waukegan East High School, she had many

of different walks of life that she interviews. Her humbled beginnings
keep her grounded. “Just because you don’t have money doesn’t mean
you don’t have potential,” she says, which is why she feels everybody
deserves a chance.
At age 18, Padilla’s parents got divorced and she moved to Madison to
go to the Madison Area Technical College. She then transferred to the

Sheri Jonas — Kawasaki Disease
Sheri Jonas reminisces of the time, a little over half a year ago, when
her daughter came down with an extremely high fever, followed by a
rash, swelling of her hands and feet and abdominal pains. Not only
was Sheri unfamiliar with what was happening to her daughter, but
doctors didn’t recognize the child’s symptoms either. Sheri’s motherly
gut instinct kicked in and she was overcome with the determination to

Samantha Jonas was three and a half and doing what any child that age
would do. One day she was outside playing and having fun, and the
next day she couldn’t move. “It came on really fast and kind of out
of nowhere,” Sheri says. “I would have to carry her from one place to
another because she was so lethargic.” Within six hours of onset of her
symptoms and no sign of her daughter recovering, she called the doctor.
Misdiagnosed. Because of her rash, the doctor told her it was probably

Montarra Grill in Algonquin is known for their creative dishes, sophisticated
atmosphere and unique style, including blown glass chandeliers made by
artist Dale Chihuly’s students.
A bubbly, blue chandelier catches your eye as you enter the restaurant.
When you get to the bar area, a long, red fixture of the same design hangs,
creating a warm, inviting ambiance. The water wall, which separates the bar
and eating area, creates the sound of a waterfall throughout the restaurant as
patrons dine on their favorite dishes.
The diverse menu is contemporary American—a melting pot of inventive
dishes. Enjoy the Petite Filet Mignon “Crisps” with garlic crust, gorgonzola
and port wine bordelaise on a chilly fall night, or munch on the Baked Brie
and Green Apple Salad with field greens, berries, pralines, prosciutto, thyme
honey and champagne vinaigrette.
The main course menu offers a variety of Chef Signature Entrees from steak
and seafood to pasta. Each hand cut steak is certified U.S.D.A. prime and
can be customized with different dressings and sides. Don’t miss the tasty
Caramelized Maine Sea Scallops with fresh sweet corn chorizo hash, warm
lump crab and Thai basil butter. If you’ve left any room for your sweet tooth,
no meal at Montarra is complete without an order of fresh cheesecake, which
often changes daily.
Montarra also offers an extensive wine and martini menu, as well as premium
liquors, and is the location of a sophisticated, theme party every third Friday
of the month. Come and join the Montarra staff for an eclectic mix of drinks,
people and music.
For those of you that love food and wine, on the last Wednesday of every
month, join Chef Dave as Montarra hosts its monthly Wine Dinner together
with the Randall and Vine Wine Shoppe. Enjoy pairings of your favorite
wines with your favorite dishes, and learn more about which wines are best
suited with which dishes.
Montarra is a great place for weddings and rehearsal dinners, cocktail parties,
luncheons, showers and more. Chef Dave will customize a dining menu for
your banquet. For luncheons and showers, there is a choice of one-of-a-kind
salad plates, sandwiches and hot lunch entrees. Montarra can comfortably
accommodate up to 150 guests, with a private dining room seating up to 40
and alcoves for more intimate gatherings. They also offer a creative catering
and private party division that has elegant options for your special event.
They can accommodate any schedule—breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Individual and group reservations are accepted. Enjoy a downtown
dining experience without the drive. For reservations or questions, call
(847) 458-0505.

An easy drive from the North Shore suburbs. Bistro 22 suggests the
French penchant for getting outside Paris to see what good cooks
are doing in the country. Bistro 22 has a K/RATING of 19/20
— Sherman Kaplan, "North Shore Magazine"
What a find! From the minute you walk in the door, you are
treated like an honored guest. The wait staff was knowledgeable
and attentive, without being over bearing. The food was delicious
as it was picturesque. Although a challenge, try to save room for
the Molten Chocolate Cake!

Sedation Dentistry
“works like a dream”
Find out what your friends and neighbors
already know — sedation dentistry is
changing the way people go to the dentist.
Many people avoid going to the dentist. Some are uncomfortable, anxious,
or even afraid. Many don’t have time for multiple appointments.
If this sounds like you, you need to know that you are not alone.
There are millions of people, just like you, who are not getting the care
they really need. But there is an answer — sedation dentistry.
Sedation lets you stay relaxed and comfortable throughout your whole
appointment. And even though the procedure is actually a form of
conscious sedation, when the visit is over, many people feel like they
slept through the whole thing. Most patients have little or no
memory of their appointment. And best of all — with sedation
dentistry, you’ll probably need fewer appointments!
Who is sedation for?
Sedation is right for anyone who wants a comfortable and
relaxing dental experience. It is especially useful if you:
• have dental fears which make you delay or avoid dental treatment
• have had a bad experience at the dentist in the past

‡FDQ¶WVWDQGWKHVLJKWVVRXQGVRUVPHOOVRIDGHQWDORI¿FH
• can’t sit still during a dental appointment
• have problems getting numb, making treatment very painful
• need a lot of work done and don’t have time for several appointments
‡KDYHDEDGJDJUHÀH[
• have extremely sensitive teeth
• hate needles and shots

gum tissue to the overall aesthetics of the person’s smile. Many situations require altering the gum line prior to placing crowns,
veneers, or bonding to achieve optimal cosmetic results.
