This is a special opportunity for interested staff to
participate in the County’s Ginna response plan.
Monroe County is the lead in coordinating our local
response (partners include government, private-sector
and volunteers) to a Ginna emergency event. The federal
government has established planning criteria for
municipalities within certain distances of nuclear power
plants (10 miles). In Monroe County, this encompasses
portions of the Towns of Webster and Penfield.

residents during such an emergency. Mike Sayers from
the Department of Public Health will be presenting at
several upcoming Department of Human Services staff

training involved. If interested, you can contact Mike
