If latch does not extend or retract smoothly, adjust screws (Q). Remove key when finished and make sure the latch bolt is fully extended. M A Press and hold the Lock button while installing battery pack (L). N Make sure turnpiece is in the vertical position. N AA D Lay cable flat against the interior housing. K Perform door handing process P (2x) Did the latch bolt retract and extend on its own when the battery pack was installed? Hold button until the latch bolt starts moving on its own. x4 HOLD L Do not install battery pack yet! Ensure correct polarity. For best results, use new non-rechargeable Alkaline batteries only. No user code programmed Program at least one user code *If switch #3 is ON Programming Codes b Programming Information c Enabling and Adding a Mastercode (Optional for Enhanced Security) User codes can be programmed with or without a mastercode. Using a mastercode is an optional, added-security measure. It is not enabled by default. A mastercode is used to add and delete user codes, but it cannot unlock the door (unless the same code is programmed as a user code, though this is not recommended). The mastercode must be 4-8 digits. User Codes Requirements 1 Press and HOLD 2 Enter new mastercode. Program button until keypad flashes green (about 5 seconds). How the Keypad Works 3 Press Lock button once. 2 5 6 8 2 Enter new USER code. 4 Re-enter mastercode. 5 Press Lock button once. Successful Programming The keypad will flash green once, and you will hear one beep*. Make sure switch #3 is on, and then press the Program button once. If you hear three beeps and see the keypad flash green three times, the mastercode is enabled. 1 Press Program button once. Test the old user code to make sure it is inactive. The keypad will flash green and you will hear three beeps. If you cannot remember the user code position, you may wish to perform a factory reset to delete all codes associated with the lock. Make sure to enter a valid mastercode in step 2. TEST CODE red (x6) IF UNSUCCESSFUL Make sure the mastercode has been enabled before trying to disable it. Attempt this procedure again, making sure to enter the same mastercode in steps 3 and 5. If no button is pressed for five seconds, the system will time out, and you will need to restart the procedure. green (x1) 3 Enter mastercode. 4 Press the Program button Note: The lock will time out after five seconds. Unsuccessful Programming The keypad will flash red three times, and you will hear three beeps*. Deleting User Codes In order to delete a user code, you must override the code by adding a different user code in the same position. For example, if you want to delete the third code, add a different user code in position three. Mastercode enabled: TEST IF UNSUCCESSFUL Make sure the mastercode has not been programmed already. Attempt this procedure again, making sure to enter the same new mastercode in steps 2 and 4. Programming Behavior Successful Programming the number of times that corresponds to the user code position being programmed. Example: If programming the third code, press the button three times. Each button represents two numbers (i.e. 1 and 2 for the first button). You only need to push the button once to get either 1 or 2. For example: If your code is 1-2-5-6-8, 1 Mastercode NOT enabled: 1 Press the Program button Each user code must be a unique code between 4 and 8 digits. A total of 8 user codes may be programmed. d Adding User Codes TEST CODE While the door is open, test the user code to make sure it unlocks the door. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. 3 Press the Program button once more.
