Instead of soy sauce, choose Organic Gluten-Free Tamari as a staple
in your gluten-free pantry! Available in both Premium and Reduced
Sodium varieties, The natural fermentation process gives San-J Tamari
great flavor enhancing properties. This savory sauce used to contain
a very small amount of wheat, and has now been reformulated to be
completely gluten-free while maintaining the same rich, robust taste
people have enjoyed for years. Not just for topping off steamed rice,
you can add Tamari to soups, gravies, sauces and casseroles. It’s an

“There was a song called Neon at the last minute that was ready to be on the album, and I said, ‘Wow,
this song is incredible and so beautiful. Now, this album has to be called Neon,’” recalls Jay Sean, who is
back on track with his 4th album after 2011’s infamous Freeze Time legal issues.
“Freeze Time was an album that I was writing on at first, and then, unfortunately, I had a lawsuit with
people who had gotten involved in it. They stopped my album from coming out, and my music from
being played on the radio for a year and a half," he says, expressing the ramifications of the legal
process and its effect on the project. The two singles that capture the depth of Neon, per Jay Sean: Where You Are and Mars (feat. Rick
Ross). “To me, this record is a work of art," he concedes. "When I finally put it out to the world, I have to
be able to hold my head up high and be proud of it."
On another gratifying note, Sean recently signed The Janoskians - whom he refers to as “a comedy
crew from Australia” - to his company, Camouflage Entertainment. “They just sold out a world tour
within like half an hour, so they are gonna be huge,” he predicts confidently.
Regarding other passions outside of music - having supported the Aga Khan Foundation, Shriners
Hospital for Children, PETA, and the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign - Jay Sean's altruistic nature
endured long before fame. “I was gonna spend the rest of my life saving other people’s lives as a
doctor,” says Sean, who studied medicine in college. “I still try to do what I wanted to do - and that is to
help people.”

M.I.A. Makes
More Noise
This acclaimed artist always keeps us on our toes
with rhythmic beats and rambunctious visuals.
In 2000, the Sri Lankan born, London bred
Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam was
encouraged, by electro-clash icon Peaches, to
make music on a Roland MC-505 Groovebox.
Maya pulled lyrics from journals she had written
during a 4 month trip to the Caribbean island
of St Vincent. In 2005, she released Arular,
selling 130,000 copies in the U.S. and reaching
mainstream charts in Europe and the U.K. It was
considered as much a political statement as a
musical one.
In 2007, Kala was released. Once again, it
received unanimous international critical praise.
It topped multiple “Best of the Year” lists in
publications around the world, which cite its deft
mixture of politics, social consciousness, and
inimitable genre-blending.
In 2008, the single “Paper Planes” brought
Maya worldwide mainstream acclaim and was
nominated for a Grammy for Record of the
Year in 2009. The song was also featured in the
film Slumdog Millionaire, in addition to M.I.A.
contributing vocals to the Oscar nominated track
from the film, “O… Saya.”
2010 saw the release of, /\/\/\Y/\, which
received early praise from the media with
Rolling Stone commenting, “M.I.A’s latest is as
challenging and awesomely out-there as the title
of her album /\/\/\Y/\.” /\/\/\Y/\ went Top 10
on the Billboard 200 album chart and #1 on the
Dance/Electronic chart. On Dec. 31, 2010, she
put out the acclaimed mixtape VICKILEEKX.
In 2012 M.I.A. released the song “Bad Girls” which
is featured on the recently released soundtrack to
the movie “Bling Ring” and will also be included
on her fourth studio album Matangi due for
release in the fall 2013. The video for “Bad Girls”
was nominated for both a Grammy and MTV
Video Music Award.
Now, as M.I.A. readies Matangi for release, new
track “Bring The Noize” was released worldwide
on June 18th. “Bring The Noize” was produced
by Switch and Surkin. The “Bring The Noize” video
debuted on Noisey June 25th.
Named one of the ten defining artists of the 2000’s
decade by Rolling Stone and one of the world’s
100 most influential people by Time magazine,
M.I.A. has been nominated for an Academy
Award and two Grammys (“Paper Planes” and
“Swagga Like Us”). M.I.A. Online

According to Givebones founder, Tricia Andrews, “There are approximately five million to seven million
furry companions that enter animal shelters each year,” which is why Givebones gives back 10 percent
of sales to shelters and rescue groups across the country in hopes of lowering this astounding number.

Not Your
Average DJ:
Dainjazone
Like many little boys, Dainjazone had dreams of becoming a
Major League Baseball player. He pitched his way through the
ranks to his senior year at New Mexico State University. This is
where he discovered the art of DJing.
In 2006, he understood it was time to trade in the leather
mitt for turntables and continue his newfound passion. As a
DJ, Dainjazone has been presented with many challenges,
especially in a competitive environment like Los Angeles. And
thus, he quickly learned how to market himself and began
collaborating with other highly passionate artists to avoid being
stereotyped as just another “Hollywood DJ.”
Currently, Dainjazone is on a worldwide tour with LMFAO
and the Party Rock Crew, making a lasting impression
on dance music crowds across the globe. The tour’s
success has brought additional attention to his skills,
hosting after-parties in their nightly concert cities
and playing on festival stages.
Recently, he has played for television audiences
on Good Morning America, The Jimmy Fallon
Show and the Much Music Awards. He holds
residencies at The Palms Hotel (Las Vegas), The
Marquee at the Cosmopolitan Hotel (Las Vegas)
and The Cameo Nightclub (Dallas).
Dainjazone, on a weekly basis, uploads fresh
new music and remixes via podcasts on iTunes.

Marvelous Mvula!
Theodore Louis
As striking as she is bold, Laura Mvula is the UK’s latest songstress to join Great Britain’s cartel of infectious
crooners (Adele, Amy Winehouse, Duffy) with her critically praised debut release Sing To The Moon: a
twelve-track euphonic stimulus of orchestral-soul, brilliantly laced with smooth rubato vocals atop jazz, pop,
and classical music fusions. Showcasing a lyrical confection of lush psychedelic explorations and choirlike harmonious arrangements, Sing To The Moon boasts of symphonic swagger. As incomprehensible as
the aforementioned description may seem, consider the ensemble of forty live instrumentalists necessary
to execute the eclectic sound that has Mvula heralded by notable critics as the new Nina Simone, with
favorable references to George Gershwin, Björk and Billy Holiday amongst others.
In an industry inundated with formulated sound bites and auto-tune wizardry, Laura Mvula’s talent remains
original and pure. Along with collaborator Steve Brown (Rumer), Mvula wrote and composed all songs,
playing nine live instruments throughout the recording of the album. Armed with formal training from the
Birmingham Conservatoire (UK), the 26-year-old classically skilled singer-songwriter was nominated for the
2013 BRIT’s Critics’ Choice Award, and ranked fourth on the shortlist for the coveted BBC Sound of 2013.
Highly impressed with her artistic contribution, the New York Times featured Laura as one of their picks
from the year, describing her live set--harp, cello, and violin included--as “polished and unconventionally
structured.”
Undoubtedly, no amount of well-crafted words can capture the intricate splendor of Laura Mvula’s Sing
To The Moon. Retro-chic, relevant and distinct in its form, the production value of the album renders an
authentic avant-garde spontaneity unlike anything on the current music scene. This is originality. This is art.

Implementation
of
JOBS
Act
Rules to Innovate and
Spur Investment
Jay L. Taylor
Finally, a sea change in the ability of entrepreneurs to access vast amounts
of untapped investment capital. On July 10, 2013, the SEC published the
final rules for the Jumpstart Our Businesses Startups Act (the “JOBS Act”),
which was formally signed into law April of 2012. The new rules go into effect
September 23, 2013. The purpose for the JOBS Act was to spur job creation
by making it easier for start-up entities to access investment capital. The
legislation revamps the 1933 and 1934 Securities Act requirements which
placed restrictions on advertising newly issued and traded securities. The
new SEC rules remove the ban on the advertising of private offerings to the
general public. Entrepreneurs and start-up entities will now have access to
more modern means of soliciting investment opportunities and advertising
to a broader swath of potential investors.
The new rules allow for the raising of capital
through advertising to the general population.
Specifically, the new Rule 506(c) of Reg D provides
that the prohibition against general solicitations
and advertising shall not apply to offers and sales
of securities under Rule 506 so long as:
The terms of Rules 501 (Definitions), 502(a)
(Integration of Offering) and 502(d) (Limitations
on Resale) are satisfied;
All purchasers of the securities are accredited
investors; and
The issuer takes reasonable steps to verify that the
purchasers are accredited.
“Accredited Investor” is defined in Rule 501(in
addition to banks and financial and other
institutions) as an individual having earned
$200,000 in the two recent consecutive years
($300,000 for married couples) or having a net
worth of $1 million. One caveat under the JOBS
Act is that the entrepreneur must reasonably
attempt to verify that an investor is an Accredited
Investor. There are certain non-exclusive provisions
for determining whether a natural person is an
Accredited Investor.
48
360 MAGAZINE
The entrepreneur may:
Review copies of IRS forms reporting income for
the past two years along with obtaining a written
representation from the investor that he or she
has a reasonable expectation to reach the
Accredited Investor income level for the
current year;
Review recent financial documents showing that
the investor meets the Accredited Investor net
worth requirement, along with obtaining a written
representation from the investor that all
liabilities have been disclosed;
Obtain a written confirmation from a registered
broker-dealer or investment adviser, licensed
attorney or CPA that such person has
determined, using reasonable steps within the last
three months, that the investor is an accredited
investor; or
According to a recent article in Forbes magazine, there are over 8 million households in the United
States with a total net worth of $1 million. All of these households are now fair game for the advertising of
new offerings in existing or start-up enterprises.
The new rules would also require that the company issuing securities first provide a copy of all solicitation
materials to the SEC pursuant to Rule 506(c). The JOBS Act goal is to decrease the cost of capital
formation. This change opens the floodgates for investment capital into new and existing businesses,
with the hope of spurring job creation. It changes the existing model which has been in place for
approximately 80 years.
The relaxed rules are a double-edged sword. Along with such open advertising comes the potential for
fraud and misleading schemes for which existing securities laws will remain applicable and transgressions
prosecuted. However, the new SEC rules could spur a new American era of funded innovation, even
as large financial institutions continue to sit on capital due to the uncertain economic environment.
Stay tuned … as this is arguably one of the boldest and most innovative moves by U.S. regulators in
recent years.
For any investor who previously invested in
an offering as an Accredited Investor prior to
September 23, 2013, obtain a certification
by such person that he or she qualifies as an
Accredited Investor at the time of the new sale.

Making Your
Health and
Fitness a
Top Business
Priority
Tony Little
Most successful people have accomplished their goals through strong
discipline -- with hard work, focus and achievement becoming a way of life.
But a busy lifestyle usually has a price, giving these same individuals less
time to take care of their health and fitness…unless they make it a priority.
It’s ironic, but the busier and more stressed out you are, the more you need to make absolutely sure you
maintain a steady workout regimen, and watch what you eat and drink. The temptations to fall off the
fitness wagon are strong, but if you take the same approach to living a healthy lifestyle as you do with your
business or profession, you’ll be one step ahead.
My number one recommendation is to schedule
your workout in the morning. I realize it may not
be easy to wake up early, but if you do, there’s a
huge payoff. You’ll find that you have infinitely more
energy throughout the day and your creativity levels
will be higher if you exercise before you get into
work.
Once you get into the office, it’s extremely difficult
to leave, even if you’re the boss. Actually make
that especially if you’re the boss! Even if you try to
schedule your workout until after hours, you run the
risk of running into any of a million things that will
prevent you from leaving work. A project that forces
you to stay late, a marathon conference call or a
dinner meeting -- they can all delay you until it’s
too late.
Despite my reputation for healthful living and eating
properly, I appreciate going to a restaurant and
having a nice plate of pasta bolognese or a glass
of wine as much as the next guy. However, I know
I can’t afford to do this everyday or I’ll have hell to
pay. I am a big believer in what I call the “temple
theory.” For five days out of the week, my body is a
temple and I treat it accordingly, being very careful
with what I eat and drink. Then, for two days, my
body is an amusement center, and I’ll allow myself
to indulge in which I want. It’s a system that works
extremely well because it keeps your body
healthy, while still letting you enjoy life.
Even if you’re actually able to schedule your
workout in the evening, its quality will be inferior
because you’ll be tired. In addition, it may
negatively affect your sleep by forcing your energy
level up at the wrong time.
Keep in mind that there’s a big difference between
getting up early for your workout and sacrificing
sleep. While a lot of type “A” personalities seem to
get by with only a few hours of sleep a night, it’ll
eventually come back and bite you in the end.
Your body needs to recharge, especially after a
busy day. Getting lots of rest will keep you energized
during the day, while helping you to look and feel
younger.
Socializing is one of the major complicating
facts of life of the business world. Everybody
seems to want to get together for lunch or
dinner, or go out for drinks in the evening. Most
of us find it enjoyable, but it can wreck havoc
on your daily routine…and your body.
50
360 MAGAZINE
360 MAGAZINE 51
Good health and fitness can be a huge challenge to anybody,
but even more so for busy professionals. The best advice I can
offer is to approach your health with the same attitude as your
career, prioritizing the things that you know will lead to success.
You probably didn’t achieve business success overnight, so you
probably already know that meticulous planning and execution is
always a winning formula.
Still, I understand the pressures of having a martini glass thrust in
my hand, while some business associate is telling me to “Go on,
have a drink!” Or having the dessert tray, which has every one of
my favorites, waved in front of my face. I feel the same personal
temptations that you do, but what stops me from giving in is being
aware that I have to approach my diet with the same discipline as I
do my business.
When it comes to peer pressure, actually, that part is pretty easy.
I’ve found that most people really respect others who are in control
of their lives and their personal choices, while maintaining a positive
attitude. While that inebriated business associate may be teasing
you about your drinking nothing but mineral water, trust me, he’s
really envious that he isn’t in control of his life as you are.
There are a lot of distractions out there threatening to derail you
from your various goals in life. But if you make your own wellness a
priority, you’ll be able to enjoy your hard-earned business victories
that much more. And if the timing is right, you can celebrate and
indulge yourself with a glass of a premium wine, along with your
favorite meal and dessert!
tonylittle.com
Make wise choices in what you eat. Try to avoid refined carbs
and sugars, which are lacking in nutrients, and can disrupt your
metabolism, while leading to unwanted weight gain. I try to
maintain a balance of 40% protein, 40% complex carbohydrates
and 20% fat, so that means a lot of appetizing foods like chicken,
fish, bison meat with fresh fruits and vegetables, sweet potatoes
and baked potatoes. Honestly, healthful eating doesn’t mean it has
to be boring or tasteless!
Also, be sure to drink lots of water. And I mean LOTS, not just
during your meals. Coffee and tea are okay in the mornings, but
it becomes a problem later in the day, because it will affect your
sleep. Water is basically the fountain of youth, so I’m drinking
constantly throughout the day to keep well hydrated.

RJ Mitte
Despite His Disability, This Young Actor Continues to Thrive
in Tinseltown.
RJ Mitte co-stars on the Emmy-winning AMC drama, Breaking Bad, as the son of the
cancer-stricken high school science teacher turned drug manufacturer played by
Bryan Cranston. Just as his character on the show, Walter White Jr, has cerebral palsy
so does Mitte, although Mitte’s is a milder form of the disability. RJ starred as Tim in the
fantasy thriller feature film House of Last Things which screened at the Paris Film Festival.
RJ appears in the documentary film “CineAbility.” It is a detailed look at the evolution
of disability in entertainment and features a who’s who of Hollywood: RJ, Ben Affleck,
Jamie Foxx, Gary Sinise and David Milch, among others. He recently had a guest-starring
role on the CBS hit Vegas.
Mitte is involved with several organizations that raise awareness of equality and diversity.
He is the Youth Spokesperson for the National Disability Institute’s Real Economic Impact
Tour, which works to improve the financial situation of low-income persons
with disabilities. He is a spokesperson for “I AM PWD,” a tri-union
campaign (SAG, AFTRA & Actors’ Equity) which advocates for actors
with disabilities, and for “Beyond Diversity -- the future is now.” As
a guest speaker at high schools, colleges and universities around
the country, Mitte openly talks about the ways he has overcome
obstacles and how he has achieved his goals. In 2011, RJ became a
Celebrity Youth Ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy, an organization
which educates, advocates and provides support for people with a
spectrum of disabilities.
One hot-button issue that RJ has become vocal about is the

Carly Rae
Jepsen
Eiko Watanabe
Carly Rae Jepsen won big at the 2013 Juno Awards, scoring top
accolades for Single of the Year (Call Me Maybe), and both Album
and Pop Album of the Year (Kiss). Since its release, Kiss has reached
the Top Ten in the U.S. and Canada, as well as Australia, New
Zealand, Japan and the UK; however, a global groundbreaking
achievement as such does not come without a healthy degree of
sacrifice and anxiety. "I felt a lot of pressure last year," Jepsen shares,
detailing the experience of preparing Kiss for release. "I almost didn't
understand how I'd go with it because I had a very limited amount
of time to put together my first worldwide debut album. I was often
in the studio sometimes like, at two in the morning to make sure I got
it right."
In the latest single Tonight I'm Getting Over You (its remix version
features Nicki Minaj), Jepsen sings about post-breakup feelings on
a catchy electro-house dance beat. “I’ve definitely experienced
relationships where you feel like it’s a little one-sided or you are just
being treated poorly,” says Jepsen. “When I sing that song, it’s super
easy for me to remember the rage and the love and everything that
was complicated with the situation.”

Since the very day that Kiss was turned in, Jepsen has been working on the follow-up record. "I'm a
constant writer, but it doesn't mean that every song that I've written is gonna make the album," she says
of her songwriting process. "There were definitely the songs that I wrote and looked into later, and I was
like, 'Ah, not so much a keeper, something wasn't right.'"
Alongside slated appearances and
various media promotional engagements,
Jepsen is currently focused on her first U.S.
headlining tour - a venture that promises
to be as hot as the twelve-track album it's
devised to promote. Despite all the acclaim
and newfound success, Jepsen remains
grounded, remembering the earlier days on
the grind before the career breakthrough.
"I lived through each flavor of it," she shares,
distinctly reflecting on a time of travel in
Vancouver with her band inside a cold,
compact van in the middle of winter. When
asked of her artistic objective, Jepsen
says that she always tries to make a good
impression and inspire others musically,
because of its ability to arouse and promote
change about the world. "It has changed
my life for the better," she reveals, clearly
humbled by the direct impact of her
beloved craft, and the abundant reality
that she ultimately did get it right.

HARMAN Brings Superior
Sound, Comfort and
Audio Innovation to New
Line of Harman Kardon
Headphones
®
Harman Kardon, which introduced the world’s
first stereo receiver in 1958, is synonymous with
beautiful sound and attractive design. Pulling from
a heritage of acoustic innovation, the Harman
Kardon headphones incorporate optimized
drivers that produce accurate bass even at low
volumes, whereas many competing models today
artificially exaggerate bass or treble. The distinctive
rectangular shape of the in-ear, on-ear and overear headphones mirrors the back case of an iPhone,
highlighting a design meant to pair with an iPhone,
iPad or iPod.
“These headphones are enhanced by several
audio technologies developed by HARMAN yet
also reflect the brand’s commitment to innovative
industrial design,” said Dinesh Paliwal, Chairman,
President and CEO of HARMAN. “People who truly
appreciate beautiful sound – whether it is on the
go or in the living room – should not compromise
when it comes to performance. These refined and
distinctive headphones are built with the precision
that has always defined Harman Kardon’s highfidelity products.”
The headphones share several distinguishing
features:
harmankardon.com
Modern design meets sophisticated acoustic performance in five Harman
Kardon headphone models.
HARMAN International Industries announced availability of a new line of Harman Kardon® headphones that
deliver a performance destined to impress music lovers and longtime fans of the innovative and legendary
audio brand. The Harman Kardon headphones include five options: two sound-isolating in-ear models
tailored specifically for iPhone use and three on-ear and over-ear styles – including a wireless Bluetooth® and
noise-cancelling model – for music lovers seeking a refined industrial design true to Harman Kardon’s rich
acoustical heritage.

360 MAGAZINE
The three on-ear/over-ear models are framed by
a lightweight sand-blasted steel outer band that
comes in two sizes so users can swap for the correct
fit, while a leather inner band rests on the wearer’s
head for comfort. Steel hinges accentuate the
rugged feel of the headphone frame, which does
not include plastic. Leather ear pads float in an
enclosed steel frame, with only soft leather touching
the listener’s ears. The detachable ear pads are
connected by industrial-strength magnets to remove
for cleaning or replacement. The headphones
include 40mm drivers and have detachable
cables. The headphones fold flat to slip easily into
a briefcase or bag, a storage feature that will
appeal to travelers. Each model includes a premium
carrying case.
Both in-ear styles were designed for passive noise
cancellation so users clearly hear music and other
audio content at lower volume levels – healthier for
the ears. Multiple earphone sleeve options allow
users to find the right fit while blocking exterior noise
from disturbing the clarity of the audio content.
Each model includes a three-button Apple-specified
remote to make and receive phone calls while
controlling volume and playback features.
Details of the five headphone models include:
NI ($99.95)
An in-ear model that features 9mm drivers to provide
a wide-dynamic range and high sound-pressure
levels. This ultralight model has a rectangular black
housing – shaped like the back of an iPhone – and
a three-button remote with a built-in microphone
for calls. Three sizes of silicone sleeves offer a
comfortable fit and noise isolation.
AE ($149.95)
Acoustically enhanced in-ear headphones isolate
noise and are enclosed by a silver-toned aluminum
casing for superior acoustic dampening to provide
true low-frequency reproduction. The headphones
include premium 9mm drivers optimized to work
with the metal housing to deliver extended bass
response. A three-button remote with a built-in
microphone is included, while foam sleeves are
offered along with three sizes of silicone sleeves.
CL ($199)
These on-ear headphones are defined by precision
with metal hinges, a sand-blasted metal finish and
rectangular ear cups that reflect the iPhone’s iconic
design. The 40mm drivers are uniquely baffled to
create an air flow that extends the low frequencies
– bass – better than other models in their class. The
detachable cables feature highly finished metal
connectors, while the cables are made of a tightly
woven fabric to enhance feel as well as durability
and flexibility.
BT ($249)
These Bluetooth over-ear headphones include
an integrated microphone so users don’t have
to remove them for a call. Built-in playback
buttons sit along the side of one ear cup for easy
music controls. These high-performance wireless
headphones are charged via the included USB
cable, but also work in passive mode. That means
if the battery – which lasts 12 hours – is dead, users
can attach the fabric-covered headphone cable
for wired playback from an iPhone, iPod or iPad.
Competitive Bluetooth headphones do not offer
passive playback.
NC $299
Over-ear, noise-cancelling headphones include
HARMAN’s proprietary digital active noisecancelling technology the company developed
for acoustic installations in premium automobiles.
Slow-retention foam is used in the ear pads to
create a comfortable fit that also improves passive
noise cancellation by creating an acoustic seal. The
headphones have a 30-hour battery life and are
recharged via the included USB cable.

Clarity on
Zedd
He also produced the Eva Simons’ song “I Don’t Like
You,” and co-produced the track “Beauty and a
Beat” for Justin Bieber’s third studio album Believe.
Zedd was also chosen to be the only opening act for
the Asian leg of Lady Gaga’s world stadium tour, “The
Born This Way Ball” and rejoined her for the American
leg.
A musical prodigy from the start, Zedd is already a
powerhouse beyond the EDM realm. His originality
and momentum will unquestionably propel him into
the ranks of superstardom.
www.zedd.net
Born Anton Zaslavski, Zedd was raised in Kaiserslautern, Germany by two classically trained musicians.
He began playing the piano at age four and built up his knowledge of the classical repertoire
throughout his childhood (at times writing a song a day). When Zedd learned to play the drums, he
began performing with the post-hardcore/metal trio Dioramic, signed by Lifeforce Records, in 2002.
As a preteen, he was already composing and producing numerous rock songs in his band’s own studio.
As the aughts progressed, his awareness of other genres widened; in 2009, his interest in producing
electronic music was piqued after hearing the French electronic duo Justice. With his gift for musicality
and background in instrumentation, composition and production, the move into the realm of electronic
dance music was seamless.
2009 proved to be a watershed year for Zedd. As he produced a wide variety of remixes and originals
within an incredibly short period of time, Zedd amassed widespread critical and audience acclaim. He
won two Beatport remix contests, the “Armand Van Helden / Strictly Rhythm Remix Contest” and the
“Fatboy Slim/Skint Remix Contest” that gradually caught the interest of Skrillex who ended up signing
him to his new OWSLA label. In addition, Zedd eventually caught the ear of Interscope A&R Dave
Rene and Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman Jimmy Iovine. Soon after, he produced remixes for wellknown artists like The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, P. Diddy, Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex on labels
including mau5trap, Interscope and EMI.
In 2011, Zedd’s hit singles “Shave It” and “Slam The Door” (released through OWLSA) both held the top
spot on Beatport’s charts for multiple weeks at a time. He also produced the remix of Lady Gaga’s
“Marry the Night,” which appeared on the deluxe edition of the superstar’s latest album Born This Way
and his remix of the signature track “Born This Way” appeared on Born This Way: The Remix.
Zedd signed with Interscope Records in 2012 and released his debut LP Clarity in October to much
critical acclaim. Its first single “Spectrum,” featuring label mate, Matthew Koma, garnered massive
global attention. It climbed into the the Top 10 on the iTunes dance chart and held onto the #1 spot
on Beatport Worldwide for almost three weeks. Then, it soared to #1 on the Billboard Dance Club
Song chart and was ultimately named their “Dance Club Song of the Year,” and Clarity won iTunes
Breakthrough Album of the Year (Dance) for 2012.

performance crooning in French at the age of 6, to recording his first

Ariana Grande
Music has always been Ariana Grande’s first love.
In fact, long before millions of fans fell in love
with the singer and actress as Cat Valentine on
the hit Nickelodeon show Victorious, she began
professionally pursuing her musical career at
only eight-years-old. Overcome with inspiration,
she embraced her passion wholeheartedly and
followed this dream.
After performing with symphonies around her
native Florida, Ariana made her national television
debut, giving a powerful rendition of “The StarSpangled Banner” at the first-ever broadcast of
the national anthem for the Florida Panthers. In
2008, she appeared in the acclaimed musical
13 on Broadway shortly before joining the cast of
Victorious.
However, her breakout single for Republic Records,
“The Way” featuring Mac Miller, is the best way to
get to know Ariana. Over shimmering piano and
a slick beat, her voice echoes soulfully before she
carries an inescapable and impressive hook as
Mac Miller drops a sly verse. It’s an undeniable
and unforgettable anthem, and you’ll love the
way it makes you feel.
followers, 3 million Facebook likes, 3 million Instagram
followers, and 150 million YouTube/VEVO views.
Ariana never forgets where she came from either and
continues to give back. She co-founded the youth
singing group Kids Who Care in South Florida, which
raised over $500,000 for charities in 2007 alone. She
also traveled to Gugulethu, South Africa to teach music
and dance to children as part of Broadway in South
Africa.
Ultimately, the new album will welcome everyone into
Ariana’s world, and It’s a wonderful place.

Still, it’s simply a prelude to her forthcoming
full-length 2013 debut. Across the record, she
embraces influences as diverse as Mariah Carey
and Imogen Heap, while cultivating her own style
in the process.
She’s no stranger to standing out though. She went
from playing a central character on Victorious,
named “Favorite TV Show” at the 2012 Kid’s
Choice Awards, to garnering her very own spinoff,
Sam & Cat. In addition, she voices “Princess
Diaspro” on the Nickelodeon animated series Winx
Club and voiced the title character of the 2013
animated film, Snowflake.
Along the way, she built a staggering social media
presence, making her one of the “Most Asked Actors”
on the internet. The Huffington Post listed her as the
“Third Most Influential Actress Online” above Miley

dubbed her “Most Influential Person to Watch Online”.

Jake Bugg
By now, it’s likely you will have heard of Jake Bugg following on from his support slots at two of the year’s
hottest gigs: The Stone Roses’ miniscule secret London show at Village Underground; and a week later,
Noel Gallagher’s smallest ever solo performance at Camden’s Dingwalls. The latter legend also took him
on the rest of his “High Flying Birds” tour dates, in Europe, America and beyond.
Born in Nottingham and raised on a steady diet of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and the brothers
Gallagher, Jake Bugg started picking up his uncle’s acoustic guitar at the age of 12, and having learnt
other people’s songs, started experimenting with his own. It didn’t take long for him to start coming up
with worthwhile stuff. In fact, one of the best songs on his self-titled debut album, “Someplace” dates
back to this time.
He was in “a couple of bands,” but it quickly became apparent to him and those around him that this
was to be a solo thing. “I always wanted to do things on my own, really,” he says, “and because it took
off kind of quick, that’s how it ended up, thankfully.”
Bugg’s first brush with recognition came at age 17 when a local DJ began spinning one of the cuts he
uploaded to BBC Introducing, a radio program showcasing unsigned, self signed and other emerging
musical talent. Shortly after, he was invited to play Glastonbury where he supported Lana Del Ray,
Example and Michael Kiwanuka. Soon enough, Bugg inked a deal with Mercury Records. His first single
“Trouble Town” was dropped in early 2012, while his eponymous debut album Jake Bugg came out in
October of the same year (and featured production work from former Snow Patrol collaborator Iain
Archer).
“A lot of them are about my life before, and about not giving a shit about… numerous things,” he says,
“I’m not very good at explaining those sorts of things, but they’re all from personal experiences. I try not
to think about it too much when I’m writing, because I think it’s better to just let it flow.”
This is key to what Jake Bugg and his songs are all about: from the rough and ready, abrasive guitars on
“Lightning Bolt” to the wise-beyond-his-years observations of “Seen It All.”
To put it extremely simply, Jake Bugg is the most exciting new natural soulful singer and songwriter in the
UK. No contest.

WATTSUP
British fashion photographer Ben Watts
and Wine Awesomeness are proud to
announce the launch of WattsUp Rose,
a limited edition blush launching just in
time for summer.
WattsUp Rose marks Ben’s latest branded product
offering and the first of what will be a series of upcoming
collaborations for innovative wine producer and e-tailer
Wine Awesomeness. The definitive cocktail of choice
for the creative set, WattsUp is the perfect poolside
accompaniment, to be sipped in style.
The rose was first conceived when Wine Awesomeness’
four partners, Luke Correale, Brad Ball, Dale Slear and
Logan Lee, learned of Ben’s preference for rose and
infamous 4th of July Shark Attack Sounds party through
social media. One of Ben’s playful attempts to create
his own branded rose in Montauk last summer
prompted a call from Wine Awesomeness and a
partnership was forged.
WattsUp Rose is a natural extension of the
photographer’s vibrant, fun-loving personality. For Ben,
who spends his life in the sun, rosé is season-less:
‘Drinking rosé is like enjoying a piece of summer year
round. It brings you back to summer, and summers are
notoriously fun.’ He adds, “Rose is an in-between wine.”
Stylistically, WattsUp Rosé emphasizes balance and
finesse. Lifted aromatics of fresh strawberry, watermelon
and rose water pave the way for a vibrant, crisp palate
of tart cherries and crushed stones coupled with a
lengthy, high-toned finish.
Watts Up Rosé is a blend of old-vine Tempranillo and
Garnacha, hailing from the famed wine-producing
region of Rioja (but labeled as a Vino di Tavola due to
regulations). The wine’s grapes are pressed and left on
the skins for up to 48 hours to add color and complexity.
The juice is then drained off the skins where natural
fermentation occurs over the next 20 days at cool
temperatures.
A limited run of 8,000 bottles of Watts Up Rosé will be sold
online for $18 each and in packs of 3, 6 and 12 bottles at
wineawesomeness.com. The wine will also be distributed
in Montauk and Miami at select hotels and retailers.
Grab a bottle, relax and enjoy.

battery-powered FIAT® 500e yields zero
tailpipe emissions without compromising
style. Ugliness is the worst pollution of
all. And so, Italian styling, instant torque,
strong and smooth acceleration and
more aerodynamic bodywork result in
this environmentally sexy citizen.
