WHAT IS A DEMI-PERMANENT
HAIR COLOR?
The term “demi-permanent” refers to a relatively
new generation of ammonia-free colorants
that combine permanent and semi-permanent
technology. They have recently gained in
popularity for in-salon services due to their
gentle care action and hi-glossy, color result.
There are two types of demi-permanent
technology: an ammonia-free, mild-alkaline or
ammonia-free non-alkaline. When formulated
with a low hydrogen-peroxide (10 Volume), they
allow the undeveloped color pigments to oxidize
in the cortex with little-to-no effect on the hair’s
natural pigments once they have penetrated the
cuticle. The durability of the color will depend on
the hair quality and client’s home maintenance
regime.

Gloss Sync can be applied to damp or dry hair. For best results and more evenly saturated
color deposit, it is recommended to apply Gloss Sync to dry hair. When using as a toner, Gloss
Sync can be applied to towel dried hair for up to 20 minutes.

Mixing ratio is 1:1. 1 part color to 1 part 10 volume MATRIX Cream
Developer.

Strand testing allows you to preview your results before
applying color to your client’s entire head. When taking a strand
test, mix 1/8 oz. of the exact Gloss Sync shade (or mixture of
shades) that will be used with 1/8 oz. of 10 Volume MATRIX
Cream Developer. Apply the color mixture from the scalp to the
mid-lengths and ends on a strand large enough to view color
results. Process for 10-20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
SKIN ALLERGY TEST
Clean an area the size of a quarter in the bend of your client’s elbow with soap and water. Pat dry. Using a plastic utensil,
mix one part of the Gloss Sync shade (or mixture of shades) to be used with one part of MATRIX Cream Developer in a
plastic or glass container. Tightly recap the Gloss Sync and Developer. Do not use metal utensils. Apply mixture to the
test area with a cotton swab or ball. Let test spot dry. Instruct client not to wash, cover or disturb for 48 hours. Instruct
client to examine test area periodically over the next 48 hours. If he/she experiences any reactions- such as redness,
burning, itching, swelling, skin abrasions, eruptions or irritation in or around the test area, do not color your client’s hair
until he or she has consulted a doctor.
