Marcelli D, Brand K, Ponce P, et al. Longitudinal changes in
body composition in patients after initiation of hemodialysis
therapy: results from an international cohort. J Ren Nutr. 2015;
http://dx.doi.org/10.1053/j.jrn.2015.10.001. Data collected for this cohort spanned 21 countries and almost

Cankaya E, Bilen Y, Keles M, et al. Comparison of serum
vitamin D levels among patients with chronic kidney disease,
patients in dialysis, and renal transplant patients. Transplantation
Proc. 2015;47(5):1405-1407.
Serum vitamin D levels were evaluated in HD, PD and kidney

Ladda MA, Goralski KB. The effects of CKD on cytochrome
P450-mediated drug metabolism. Adv Chronic Kidney Dis.

cytochrome P450 pathway metabolism. This can be improved
through kidney transplant, and temporarily improved by dialysis.
Kohn JB. Stories to tell: conducting a nutrition assessment with
the use of narrative medicine. J Acad Nutr Diet. 2016;116(1):10-14.
Describes the concept of narrative medicine as a patient centered
approach to care and discusses the idea of narrative medicine being
a competence for RDNs.

between income and life expectancy in the United States,
2001-2014. JAMA. 2016 Apr 26;315(16):1750-66.

greater longevity in the United States during 2001-2014.
