Multitoned eye shadows—either pencils or powders—in light, medium and dark shades along with a highlighting accent shadow are the foundation for the perfect smoky eye. Stýli-Style’s It’s a Breeze Cooling Gel Eye Shadow Sticks and Flat Eye Pencil Blendable Liners make the job easy. Step 1: Sweep the second-lightest shade—It’s a Breeze Star Bright—across the eyelid just below the brow bone. Step 2: Apply the medium shade—Flat Eye Pencil in Shadow—into the eyelid crease, blending well into the brow bone. This shade frames the eye. Step 3: Use the darkest shade—Flat Eye Pencil in Hong Kong—to line the upper and lower lash lines. Step 4: Sweep the lightest, pearlized accent shade—It’s a Breeze Soft Silk—right above the brow bone and into the inner corner of the eye. This shade highlights the eyes and makes them appear larger. Step p 5: Use NYX Cosmetics’ The Curve eyeliner right at the top eyelid at its lash line. For a more dramatic look, line the lower eyelid as well. Steep 6: Ardell Professional’s Individual Lashes are easy to apply and give the eye a winged, retro look. Use one, two, three or more at the outer corners of the eyes to frame them and add a finished look to the smoky eye. Steep 7: Open up the lashes with a quick curl using Tweezerman Professional’s Super Curl Eyelash Curler. Step p 8: Complete the smoky eye look with a coat of Napoleon Perdis’ Mesmer-Eyes mascara. ■ Stýli-Style styli-style.com 845.225.2317 28 February 2014 | beautystorebusiness.com NYX Cosmetics nyxcosmetics.com 866.699.1004 Ardell Professional ardelllashes.com Tweezerman Professional tweezermanprofessional.com 800.645.3340 Napoleon Perdis Cosmetics napoleonperdis.com 888.732.9111 Model image: Thinkstock.com Shelley Moench-Kelly is managing editor of Beauty Store Business.
