Dundee City Council provides a FREE, special collection for your real
Christmas tree which will then be turned into Discovery Compost. To arrange a collection, call Waste Management on 01382 432776/432770.
Other ways to dispose of your tree are to cut it up into small pieces and
add it to your home compost bin, your kerbside brown bin or take it to a
recycling centre. Alternatively, if you have a garden why not buy a living tree
- then plant it outside for a little bit of Christmas all year round?

A simple, effective and nationally recognised scheme
for reuniting lost children now operates in Dundee
city centre, under the name Little and Lost.
It works by issuing wristbands to children
with contact numbers for parents/
guardians. Shops taking part in the
scheme display colourful window
stickers and children know they can go
there if they are lost. If parents need the help of
Security personnel when shopping, they can look for
the window stickers and ring the number displayed.
Free wristbands are available at Overgate.

The meaning of Christmas
The Dundee Nativity in City Square at 7.00pm on 19 November
is a dramatic presentation of the Christmas story using words and
music. The play features an African-style gospel choir, local actors and
musicians, and some exciting drumming! This colourful event is presented by the churches of Dundee in association with other community groups.
The scenes take place around City Square, the cast moving among the audience who become part of the crowd in Bethlehem that night.
See advert and Christmas Light Night feature on page 10 for more information.
It’s the party season so who wants to know about keeping fit and healthy at
this time?
With an average Christmas dinner containing about 2,000 calories not
including wine, beer and the little chocolate treats maybe we all need to be
thinking about it?

Throughout the whole contract one of the key drivers behind
the work has always been to make sure that the city is open for
business as usual, particularly at peak shopping times, and to try
to get that message out as widely as possible. Every consideration
has been given to drivers and visitors to the city in the planning
and phasing of works, and while activity will still be going on at
the latest stage of works to remove and realign the ramps on the
Tay Road Bridge and on associated services, disruption will be
kept to an absolute minimum.
For now and for the future Dundee is
a city that is open for business and
provides a safe, relaxed and engaging
festive experience. www.dundeewaterfront.com
Dundee Liftshare

and lives in the area. Just visit www.dundeeliftshare.com and
register your journey. The Liftshare database will try to find a match
from other registered users and let you get in touch with them.
Dundee Travel Information

towns and villages. In Dundee you will find modern fleets with
cctv and low floor entry. Real-time information at city centre

centre. It is always staffed and has a café, pub, a newsagent and

throughout the city centre. Disabled person badge holders may park
free of charge and without time limit in any council car park or onstreet parking bay. See page 4 for Shopmobility information.
