Short-term counseling services are available on a sliding-scale fee (Brea residents: $15$25, non-residents: $25-$35). Topics such as stress, depression and relationship issues

Free classes can help you learn the English language. Lessons are given each Monday
through Thursday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Brea Community Center.
If you are a Brea resident who has difficulty speaking or understanding the English language, we invite you to join ESL classes and improve your English skills. Classes are
funded by North Orange Community County College District, which means there is no
charge to our ESL students. Sessions are held in a relaxed classroom where other students share the same goal. All materials are provided. No registration is required; walkins are welcome. Regardless of the first language you speak, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, etc., this class is for you.

The City has in effect an Affordable Housing Ordinance, which requires most
new residential developments to provide at least 10% of their units for sale at
affordable below-market prices to qualified buyers. To participate, applicants
must be able to pay at least three percent of the purchase price toward the
down payment and related closing costs, and the applicant’s income must fall
within maximum annual income guidelines.

Several apartment complexes in Brea offer rents that are lower than market
rate. If you are interested in obtaining an application for Brea's affordable
rental program, call the hotline at 714-671-3622. there is no way to gauge
how long you will be on the waiting list, as there are no openings until a tenant who is participating in the program moves out.

The Family Resource Center’s Case Management Program can provide much needed
guidance, referrals, and information to help individuals and families navigate through
difficult and crisis situations. If you are currently facing financial difficulty, medical issues, stress in your personal relationships, etc., then consider scheduling a one-onone appointment with family resource center staff. This individual will help prepare a
personalized action plan to help guide you in your next steps. Utility and rent assistance on case-by-case basis.
