A Garage Sale Benefits The Intensive
Specialized Placement (ISP) Youth
W
hen youth in the ISP Program needed T- s h i rts for
an upcoming picnic, a group of staff members
decided to launch a garage sale to raise the funds. The
Southfield community, along with Spectrum employees,
came out to support this fundraising event. Garage sale
customers also had the opportunity to purchase bottled
water and barbecued foods “hot off the grill.” Consumers rolled up their sleeves and helped to set-up,
assist customers and price items. Overall, the garage
sale was a success and the ISP Program reached its
entire financial goal on opening day.
A HEARTFELT THANKS TO THESE SPECIAL DONORS!
We appreciate the commitment and generosity of the individuals,
businesses and organizations that donate funds and goods to support Spectrum’s programs and the countless individuals we serv e .

In addition to the garage sale, the fundraising
team held a Penny Drive for several weeks and collected pop cans for the ISP Pro g r a m .

4th Annual Canoe-A-Thon Brings Out the Best!
O
n July 31, the Eastern Region hosted it’s 4th Annual
Canoe-A-Thon in Milford, Michigan.
The day was phenomenal, the food tasty and the
atmosphere was just plain fun! Employees and many
kind donors helped Spectrum Community Services
(SCS) enormously, and with the holiday season being
just around the corner, the SCS Program raised
enough funds to purchase holiday gifts, clothing and
household items for consumers. ■

O
n June 25, 2004, Advance Building Managers held
a “Staff Appreciation Day” for employees at our
Southfield location. The management team spent several months planning the occasion and leading staff
members to believe that a mandatory training was
scheduled.
On the day of the event, staff members were tru l y
surprised when they learned that the mandatory
meeting was a celebration to honor their hard work
and eff o rts. Lunch, gifts and prizes were provided for
the staff and they genuinely enjoyed their special day.
The reaction from staff members touched the hearts of
all those who made the event possible. ■

The Annual Golf Classic is another fantastic success!
O
n June 25, 2004, Advance Building Managers held
a “Staff Appreciation Day” for employees at our
Southfield location.
