4.2 Medium voltage connections

12/20 kV 1x50 mm² conductors. Conductors are equipped with specific preformed terminals,
appropriateforthemaximumoperatingvoltageandfeaturingpressurecablelug.
4.3 Medium voltage transformer
ThemediumvoltagetransformerinstalledonthePSseriesismanufacturedwithepoxyresinand
bymeansofforcedcooling.
Ventilationisguaranteedbyfansmountedonthethreecolumns.Thefansfunctionautomatically
accordingtotheinternaltemperatureofwindings.
The transformer compartment is provided with appropriate openings allowing a natural air flow
fromthegridsfacingtheexternalenvironment.

4.4 Inverter Soleil 500
ThePS1000unitisequippedwithtwothreeͲphaseSoleil500withnoneutral(oneinverteron
PS500).
Soleil 500 inverter consists of a double IGBT type power module, with forced switching PWM
(PulseWidthModulation)controltechnology.
Thecurrent waveformdeliveredtothepowerdistributiongridisidenticaltothatofthe voltage
withaunitypowerfactorinanyoperatingcondition.
Each Soleil 500 uses a system which tracks the maximum power point of the photovoltaic
generator(MPPT)thusachievingthemaximumpowerefficiencyinanyoperatingstate.
Soleil 500 is controlled from two touch screen control panels allowing to view all system operating
parameters of each system module (electrical values, states and alarms) and to input the basic commands.

PS1000 is equipped with a supervision system which allows to monitor the basic operating
parametersofinverters,ofconnectedsmartstringboxesandofthesystem.
AnapplicationinstalledonaSIEL(TGS2)serverrunsthetestoftheHWpresentinthesystemand
maintainsanhistoricallogofallthecollecteddata.
Moreover,shouldanyfaultoccur,theTGS2systemcansendanemail/smstoaconfigurablesetof
recipients,indicatingthetypeoferrorsotheproblemcanbesolvedinthemostappropriateway.
Whenthefaultisrepaired,anadditionalnoticeissent(eͲmailand/orsms)toinformtheproblem
issolved.
The user is given an IP address corresponding to the Power Station and, using any internet
browser(e.g.MSExplorer),he/shecanaccessasetofgraphicalscreensindicatingconditionsand
diagramsofthegeneralsystem,ofthesingleinverterandofeachCSP12smartstringbox.
