A polyethylene tube runs through the centre of the assembly to which the tower, quadrants and top-section is fasted meaning that this buoy can be assembled in less than 60 mins TFL-3.0’s enhanced poly-tower is designed to provide a large visual area for navaid recognition. Almost entirely constructed in plastic, this buoy requires minimal maintenance and is 100% recyclable. Available in all IALA colours. Diameter 3000mm Focal Plane Height 4000mm, 5000mm, 6000mm and 7000mm options available Air Weight Depending on focal plane height Hull and Body Rotomoulded polyethylene, 18mm thick Radar Range (Nominal) 4Nm Maximum Current 6 knots Navigation Buoys – Modular Mooring Buoys Modular Mooring Buoys The main advantages of polyethylene mooring buoys over steel - The polyethylene is completely recyclable and environmental-friendly. Moreover the colour pigment is placed to the virgin polyethylene during moulding process, this ensures a greater life of the colour and a big help to the environment as it never requires painting and so no toxic dispersions in the water. - The polyethylene buoy has lower maintenance compared to the steel buoy, almost “zero”. - The polyethylene buoy is lighter in weight compared to the steel buoy; This ensure greater facility in handling, installation and assembling. -With Floatex polyethylene buoy is possible replace easily the floating modules (sectors) in case of accidental damage while with the steel buoy, in case of damage, is necessary replace the whole buoy with higher cost. - The design of floating modules permits the disassembling of the buoy which can be easily transported around the world. This operation is not possible with a steel buoy which is not easy to be transported, you need oversize containers/trucks and you have to make a lot of procedures of welding on site. - Polyethylene buoy does not need such tests as steel buoy. For example the polyethylene buoy does not need Hydraulic test as the floating modules are totally independent and ensure the floatability of the buoy also in case of small damages. Mooring Buoys Available For Every Application Modular Designs Pendant Style, Pad Eye, Swivel and Chain Pipe Catamaran Mooring Buoys Available for Large Ship Moorings Articulated/Elasticated Beacon Articulated/Elasticated Beacon Articulated navigation buoys have a reduced swing radius. These buoys are recommended for applications that require a highly accurate beacon placement and are typically found in narrow channels or inside the port itself, usually marking the limits of turning basins. These buoys are frequently used for marking the bases of quaysides or moles where there is an abrupt change in depth. Each buoy is comprised of a tube that extends from a universal joint attached to the sinker to the lamp located at the top. A hull that is located a few metres below the surface applies a constant upward force, which maintains the assembly in a vertical position. This type of buoy requires a detailed study of the location and will not perform correctly in applications with strong currents or where the variation in water level is high (due to the tide or wave height). The standard operating depth is between 12 and 60m.The Beacon ensures very low drifting and accurate marking of the place of installation in comparison to a typical navigation buoy. Low maintenance (no chain to be replaced) Positioning with great accuracy No watch swing radius No roll - although it may heel of some degrees under the action of strong winds and currents Possible accommodation for directional equipment Prevent oversized photovoltaic generators because well oriented High gain directional radio antennas can be used Much higher above sea-level nacelle compared to buoys hence providing a larger range to lighting devices and Racon. Its compact design makes it the ideal self-contained lantern for many applications including inland waterways, buoys and offshore platform marking to provide years of maintenance-free operation. Revolutionary optics and high efficiency solar panels make the SolaMAX-65 exceptionally suitable for northern and southern latitudes and low solar radiation applications. Up to 30-degrees vertical divergence making it the ideal lantern for rough waters and/or unstable buoys Options of battery capacity for demanding locations from 12Ah to 50Ah Optional GPS synchronisation 256 user selectable flash characters Magnetic On/Off switch for quick deployment & easy storage User selectable power and flash character settings via optional IR controller Battery test and lantern health check via IR controller Full monitor and control capability Theft deterrent design Range @ T=0.74: 5 - 7Nm Solar: 4 x 4.2W and 4 x 8.5W on “T” model Vertical Divergence @ 50%: 5°, 10°, 20° or 30° Battery Capacity: 12Ah or 18Ah/30Ah or 50Ah for “T” model Weight: 7.8kg – 9.5kg/15.7kg – 20.2kg on “T” model IP Rating: IP 66 and IP 68 WHY VERTICAL DIVERGENCE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN INTENSITY FOR BUOY LANTERNS Visual tests (as carried out by worldwide port authorities) have shown that the typical effective range of a buoy light is only 30% of its nominal range due to buoy motion. However, lights with significant vertical divergence can achieve an effective range that is 80% + of its nominal rated range on a buoy in a seaway. The unprecedented vertical divergence of the Tideland Signal SolaMAX-65 self-contained marine lantern actually increases the range at which a mariner can correctly identify a buoy by its lantern flash character. A 5 nm light with exceptional vertical divergence will be identifiable at a greater distance than a 7 nm light with a smaller vertical divergence. The reason for this effect is that the roll of a buoy with a narrow lantern vertical divergence confuses the flash character to a distant mariner. Sometimes he sees the light, other times he doesn’t as the buoy rolls. It is not possible to know if the disappearance of the light is due to a normal flash interval or the rolling of the buoy. So even though the mariner may see a lantern from some distance, he will not be able to identify the buoy by its flash character. The wider the vertical divergence the further away a lantern’s flash character can be correctly identified. However, the closer the mariner comes to the buoy, the dimmer the light appears until it is not seen at all when close aboard due to limited vertical divergence. The SolaMAX-65 lantern eliminates both these problems by providing a light visible with a 3o , 5o , 10o , 20o and 30o vertical divergence WHY VERTICAL DIVERGENCE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN INTENSITY FOR BUOY LANTERNS 5º 10º 20º 30º Marine Lanterns – Nova-250 Long Range Marine Lantern Nova-250 Long Range Marine Lantern >15NM The NOVA-250 features unique proprietary optics engineered to project a 360°, horizontal, high intensity, long range beam, in excess of 15NM at 115W of power and over 18NM for NOVA-250-3 at a transmissivity factor of 0.74. A constant current power source provides maximum lifetime of LEDs Range @ T=0.74: One-tier – 15Nm, Two tier – 16.5Nm, Three tier – 18Nm Vertical Divergence @ 50%: 2.4° Weight: 12kg / 22.3kg / 32.5kg IP Rating: IP 67 Port Entry Light (PEL) – TSL-100 TSL-100 PEL Light High Intensity Precision Port Entry Leading (PEL) LED Light Tideland offers a port entry leading (PEL) light solution that promotes safety and provides precise direction.
