From Liège EBLG - LXGB From Liège to Gibraltar
EBLG - LXGB
From Liège to Gibraltar
What is LGAV – LROP ?
It’s our next event, a joined flight, from Liège airport (EBLG) to
Gibraltar airport (LXGB).
Why this event ?
Some reasons :
- Most important : it’s time we get together on ‘TeamSpeak’
and get to know each other. Is there a better way to do so
than making a flight together ? Everybody (almost, anyway)
had some time to get familiar with TNT Virtual Airways.
- If we bring this event to a good end, TNT will be noticed in
the VA-world. I think it cann’t harm our Public Relations, and
even more, maybe more pilots will be attracted to our
airline.
- …………………..
Do I have to participate ?
No, but as I said here above, it would be nice that we meet, and that
we can exchange some tips, tricks, information and so among us.
Wich aircraft do I have to use ?
You can fly any plane of our fleet you like. In fact, the more different
planes, the more exiting it will be, aswell for us as for outsiders
(controllers). I’ve putted together a flightplan wich makes it possible
that we are flying together, same speed, altitude, and so on.
FS9 or FSX ?
Whatever. This isn’t of any importance for VatSim or Ivao, as you
already know.
What about Scenery ?
Aha ! That’s something else. Here below, you will find some links for
freeware scenery, wich I already installed, and I must say, they are
beautyful. Take note that these links are for FS9-scenery, but maybe
you can find scenery for FSX also. If you do, let us know on the forum.
Anyway, in this document are some pictures included, on wich gate
we will be parked for take-off. If those gates are not in your scenery,
park somewhere close-by.
- Scenery for EBLG - Liège :
o on our website.
- Scenery for LXGB :
o http://walhalla.mine.nu/fs2004.php
 Make the search for : > Spain > Gibraltar
These sceneries are very easy to install, but don’t forget to add and
activate them in your FS Scenery Library. I don’t know a lot about the
FSX-scenery, as I’m flying FS9, so I wouldn’t know if FSX-flyers need
additional scenery, sorry for that.
When takes the event place ?
The date has been set to “The 4th of december, 2009”.
We should be in the air at 19h00Z.
Let’s get on TeamSpeak at about 18h30Z.
Will there be ATC ?
VatSim should be staffed.
Ivao , we are working on , but normaly will be staffed also.
Charts
I have included old charts for Gibraltar , but they are still valid.
FLIGHT INFORMATION
Departure Airport :
EBLG : Liège , Belgium
Departure Gates :
Gates Ramp Cargo : 52 > 63
If these gates are not included in your scenery, park
your aircraft somewhere close (see picture EBLG)
Route of flight :
- EBLG SID LNO UZ707 FAMEN UQ249 KETEX
UQ237 LMG UN857 BAN R10 CJN UL27 BLN
UN869 PIMOS DCT LXGB
This route has been generated with : ‘Routefinder’
Flightlevel & Cruise-Speed :
- Shall we ask for all aircraft the same flightlevel? So we stay
(in a certain way) together. This would be a flightlevel no
higher than FL310, in that way the BAe’s can keep up.
- Shall we put our cruise speed on a maximum of 0.67mach ?
So, once again, the BAe’s can keep up.
Arrival Airport :
LXGB : Gibraltar , Spain
!!! Runway is only 6000ft of length !!!
LEMG : Malaga , Spain (alternate airport)

GENERAL
Main road crosses rwy at midpoint. Civil use PPR. Rwy 09 right-hand circuit.
Due to the lack of regulated airspace around Gibraltar, there is a possibility of unknown acft in the
vicinity of the airport.
WARNING:
Heavy bird activity and wind turbulence.
CAUTION:
The lighting on LA LINEA PIER and Ferry Terminal (NW of apt) may be mistaken for rwy 09 in poor
visibility and at night.
Sodium street lights 900'(274m) south of threshold parallel to rwy 09.

EMERGENCY ARRIVAL PROCEDURES (Applies only to MIL acft)
TACAN Let-down
for use in the event of Surveillance Radar Failure
A. The initial apch is to be from the East,
making good a track of 285^ at a safe
quadrantal Flight Level. The acft is to be
NOT BELOW FL 70 at 10 NM from the TACAN
and at FL 50 when overhead. From overhead
the TACAN turn LEFT on track 105^.
When steady outbound commence descent
to 2015'(2000'). Continue outbound to
MIM 10 NM. Turn LEFT inbound maintaining
2015'(2000') and reestablish a track of 285^.
Maintain 2015'(2000') VMC until visual with
the Rock.
B. When Rock or rwy in sight:
RWY 09: Turn left to position for a right-hand
circuit to land. The circuit is to be flown so as to
ensure no violation of Spanish Prohibited Airspace.
RWY 27: Continue with visual apch to land.
C. Aircraft using 2 Navaids (eg TACAN and INS)
need not overfly the facility and are authorised
to begin the outbound turn at range 3 NM,
continuing the procedure as above.
If unable to maintain VMC carry out
Missed Apch.
CHANGES: Twy 2 closed. Note.

TURBULENCE:
Turbulence around the rock is influenced by both
the surface wind and the 1000' wind. Generally a
1000' wind of less than 15 Kts does not produce
significant turbulence. However, with a wind
direction between 130^ and 240^ and speed in
excess of 15 Kts, the severity of turbulence
increases as the wind speed increases.
In some cases the turbulence may make conditions
dangerous or impossible for landing.
The area of turbulence can often be seen on the
water.
Wind speeds above 25 Kts from 090^ - 110^ may
cause severe turbulence and marked variations in
airspeed during the latter stages of an approach to
Rwy 09.
MISSED APPROACH:
Rwy 09: Continue radar pattern as directed climbing to 3900'.
When over the upwind end of rwy, or when passing 1900'
in IMC turn RIGHT onto 120^ (MIL acft) or climb on runway
heading (CIV acft).
Rwy 27: Continue radar pattern as directed climbing to 3900'.
When over the upwind end of rwy, or when passing 1900'
in IMC turn LEFT onto 165^ (MIL acft) or 180^ (CIV acft).

WIND EFFECTS
Pilots are to observe wind limitations for landing as published by their appropriate Operating
Authority. Where no such limitations are published, the following may be used for guidance:
