Wehr Constructors
Since 1945, Wehr Constructors has developed a portfolio of healthcare, worship, educational, judicial,
industrial and institutional facilities ranging in costs from $100,000 to over $75 million. Although our
focus over the past 20 years has been healthcare and worship facilities, we have completed numerous
educational and commercial facilities in the central Kentucky region. Wehr Constructors is owned and
operated by the Berry family which includes five generations of general contracting and engineering
experience. Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky with an office in Tampa, Florida, we are proud to be the
largest general contractor and construction manager in the Louisville area.
Many of our projects are negotiated utilizing the “integrated project delivery” approach with Wehr
Constructors serving as the construction manager. We are retained in the early design phase so that
we can assist the owner and architect with pre-construction planning, constructability reviews, value
engineering, project phasing and critical path scheduling. This process results in less downtime for the
owner’s operations, fewer changes during construction and an overall accelerated project completion;
saving everyone time and money.
An officer of our company works directly with the project manager and superintendent on scheduling,
phasing and managing subcontractors on each project. This management team approach is one reason
owners repeatedly come back to us for additional projects.
Wehr Constructors, has ranked in the top 100 construction companies in Metro Louisville and is also
licensed in Kentucky, Indiana, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia and Virginia. Our permanent
staff includes over 100 professionals committed to the quality and timely completion of each project.

Healthcare
Wehr Constructors holds a reputation as a leader in
healthcare construction in Kentucky and throughout
the Southeastern United States. We have more than
45 years of experience in the healthcare arena, with
the scope of our work ranging from one-story medical
office buildings to multi-story, state-of-the-art hospitals
and medical campuses in urban and suburban areas.

We understand that patient care is the most important goal at any medical facility and that this far
outweighs the challenges that a healthcare project may encounter. Knowledge of infection control
procedures and the ability to deal with restricted spaces, traffic flow and stringent deadlines is
paramount to the success of each project. Our clients benefit from the enormous amount of field
and office experience we have gained over the years, along with our vast knowledge of systems and
regulations specific to the healthcare environment.

Education
Wehr Constructors boasts experience in the
education arena dating back to the 1950s.
Education continues to be one of our key areas
of interest and expertise. Working in conjunction
with our clients, we ensure that our buildings
help provide a learning environment that is
unparalleled in preparing students academically
and personally for higher education and for the
challenges of thinking independently, respecting
individuality and acting with integrity.

facility was constructed to accommodate an influx of new
students.

Worship
Wehr Constructors’ worship-related construction work
began in the late 1960s. Today the company has evolved
into a leader in the construction of complex worshiprelated projects. We take pride in our culture of integrity
and honesty, and performance that is on-time and within
budget. Because of these traits, many of our clients in the
religious sector allow Wehr Constructors to be intricately
involved in the initial planning decisions, as well as in
oversight of construction process logistics.

Financial
Wehr Constructors has diverse experience in the financial sector and its past projects are recognized
for their ability to blend into surrounding neighborhoods. These comfortable facilities incorporate easy
traffic patterns that enhance and meet the demands of customers. As with all Wehr projects, project
managers collaborate with the owner and architect during the design process to ensure that a project
is constructed within cost and schedule parameters. Wehr Constructors is also able to coordinate and
integrate owner equipment into the new facility, minimizing transition time.

Specialty
Wehr Constructors is particularly proud
of our specialty construction projects.
These projects require the use of
additional skills, along with the ability to
anticipate unforeseen conditions. With
a speciality project, the contractor must
adapt to the owner’s changing needs.
Flexibility, proactive planning, materials
assessments and coordination are all vital
to successfully completing exceptional
specialty construction projects. Wehr
Constructors possesses all of these
qualities.

Wehr Constructors - Florida Divison
In 1988, Humana, Inc., with whom we were working across the country, requested that Wehr Constructors
send a team to Tampa, Florida, to assume a project from another general contractor. Wehr employed
the existing project manager and his team, all of whom are still with our company. Following successful
completion of the project, this team formed the nucleus of Wehr’s new Florida office. The original
project manager, John Gaver, is now Executive Vice President and leads the operations for the Florida
Division. Under his leadership, Wehr Constructors has been the construction company of choice for
healthcare facilities across the state.

relationships and have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of our healthcare mission.”
