BAMO is a San Francisco–based design firm founded in 1991 by Pamela Babey, David
Moulton, Gerry Jue, and Michael Booth, four colleagues from The Pfister Partnership.
The firm’s principals now total six, with the addition of Steve Henry and Dorothy Greene
in recent years. BAMO focuses on luxury hospitality and residential projects and its
commissions span twelve countries on five continents.
BAMO does not follow a single design style, believing it is more important to have style
than be a style. Its work ranges from traditional to contemporary, but each project
incorporates both an elegance and comfort level that make the spaces livable and a true
reflection of their context and occupants.
Imagining clients in “town” and “country” settings, BAMO selects products from the
SFDC to illustrate how fabulous spaces are created by combining textures, colors, styles,
and finishes.

An eclectic palette blends sophistication with casual comfort in this
garden room situated on a wine country estate. Our imaginary client,
an affable, eccentric world traveler, desired a cozy spot that expresses
his personality and loosely relates to the Japanese-style tea garden
just beyond the room’s expansive windows. Our scheme embraces a
refined balance of contemporary and traditional influences.

A modern high-rise penthouse is home to our imaginary “town” clients,
real estate professionals with a passion for philanthropy and fine art.
Floor-to-ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of San Francisco
from the Golden Gate to the Bay Bridge.
Their living/dining room was designed to accommodate entertaining,
both on an intimate and grander scale. An easy, refined chic defines
this space.
