From my first interactions with Mike, he and his team were professional, timely, and ensured that every detail of my event was taken care of well in advance. I appreciated his level of communication and a commitment to a quality performance for our students and guests. As the housing coordinator at The Ohio State University’s Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI) in Wooster, one of my responsibilities is to co-plan our “Up All Night” prospective student overnight visit in April. On this evening, we look for options to entertain our students while encouraging those who haven’t committed to ATI to do so. Being my first year on the job, I was looking for an entertainer who went beyond the typical magic show and could also appropriately entertain college students. After several blind calls, Mike was the first to call me back within just a few hours of placing my request online. Mike assured me that his publicist would be in touch. Catena called me later that evening and I immediately felt at ease with selecting Mike. The “trick-a-nosis” show was exactly what I was looking for. I was reassured that everything would be handled, including some free publicity that we were able to print and hang around the university. I appreciated Mike’s flexibility in working with our small budget as well. Our students and guests alike gave Mike rave reviews in their “Up All Night” surveys. Even though Mike went a half hour over his allotted time (which we did not mind at all), he was focused on giving a world-class show of a lifetime and he did just that. I enjoyed Mike’s personable approach, his humor, and his ability to connect with our student population. He and his team of videographers, sound technicians, as well as assistant, Catena, were fun and approachable. Most importantly, our students were laughing uncontrollably at times and making memories that they will likely never forget. Even after the show was over, I appreciated the follow-up and sharing of pictures and the videos that were posted on YouTube. I would highly recommend Magic Mike and his team to anyone who is looking for a comedian, magician, or hypnotist at an affordable cost. We look forward to having Mike back to Ohio State ATI in the near future. Sincerely, Mick Steiner Housing Coordinator The Ohio State University - Agricultural Technical Institute February 2014 What a great show for kids and adults! Magic Mike not only provided illusions and magic but also incorporated humor for all. The audience was completely engaged. I highly recommend Magic Mike for any school or family friendly event. JCT presents a magical production with Magic Mike Oct. 8 and 9 Photos MAGIC MIKE will perform tonight at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Jackson Community Theater. By Patricia Faulhaber The Suburbanite Posted Oct 07, 2010 @ 12:02 PM Jackson TWP, Ohio — The Jackson Community Theatre (JCT) will be hosting a magical fundraiser on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8 and 9. There will be a Friday night “Music and Magic” show, a children's matinee on Saturday afternoon and a special “Trick-a-Nosis” show on Saturday evening. “The JCT-OH is a new venue and we are trying to raise working capital. Magic Mike is a friend of mine that I recently made contact with and he agreed to do the upcoming show for us,” said Holly Roby, Executive Director, JCT. Magic Mike is really Michael Baldwin from Seven Hills, Ohio who performs illusions, magic and hypnosis for his spellbound audiences. He also works with a comedy magician, Brian M. Kehoe from Rochester, New York. Both have been entertaining for many years. “I really got interested in magic when I got a magic kit from my grandparents when I was five years old. I started performing magic shows at birthday parties and by age 14 I was performing at day care centers and nursing homes,” said Magic Mike. These days his regular gigs include performing weekly at Texas Roadhouse in Brooklyn, Ohio, corporate events and birthday parties. He has performed many escape routines and some mind sensing tricks. Last year he drove a $30,000 Mazda Miata blindfolded in a parade and at high speeds on the highway by using his mind and senses. The “Music and Magic” show scheduled for Friday night, Oct. 8 starts at 8 p.m. Magic Mike will perform a full magic and illusion show along with music from the group, Singers Without a Cause. There will also be some comedy magic on Friday night as well. Saturday afternoon's show will be an interactive kid's magic show that adults will also enjoy. The “Magic for Munchkins” matinee starts at 3 p.m. with time allotted for questions from the audience at the end of the show. Kids and adults will get to help Magic Mike perform magic tricks and will also help with a few mind sensing exercises. There will be a comedy painting easel routine where the kids do the magic and Magic Mike makes everything disappear at the end. Saturday night's show, “Trick-A-Nosis”, starts at 8 p.m. It is a PG-13 show because along with the comedy magic and illusions, there will be a hypnosis show where some of the participants will be wearing what they believe to be see-through glasses and will think they are seeing people in the audience without any clothes. Brian M. Kehoe will be performing comedy magic at the beginning of the show. Kehoe is the house magician at several Rochester restaurants and performs regularly at corporate events and private parties. He joined Magic Mike over the summer to present the Tick-A-Nosis show. “Brian does some really funny and outlandish stuff. He mixes humor with props much like those Carrot Top uses along with some really strong magic tricks,” said Magic Mike. The second half of Saturday evening's show is the hypnosis performed by Magic Mike. He promises there will be no clucking like a chicken or barking like a dog. Instead, people will be put under hypnosis for about an hour and will believe they are doing things like trying out for American Idol or Baywatch or they may think they are James Bond and need to save the audience. “People come out of the hypnosis feeling like they have just slept for a full eight hours or just had a full body massage. I always give positive reinforcement at the end of the hypnosis,” Magic Mike said. “I am only a small part of the second half of the show on Saturday night. I put the participants under and they become the show,” continued Magic Mike. Magic Mike recommends that families plan to attend all three shows because each show will have different magic routines. Also, going to a magic show makes for a great date night or family night. Jackson Community Theatre is located in the lower level of Siefert's Flower Mill at 7360 Wales Avenue in Jackson Township.
