Badall has seven years of real estate experience in the Washtenaw county area. Badall holds a number of designations from the National Association of Realtors, which includes Eco Broker and SFR (Short Sale & Foreclosure Resource). She currently serves on the MLS committee. Linda Nasset also joined the Ann Arbor office of Edward Surovell Realtors as a Sales Associate. She previously spent 31 years as a Vocational Evaluator teaching Special Education in Livonia schools. Founded in 1982, Edward Surovell Realtors is one of Michigan’s largest independent real estate companies. In 2008, the company exceeded $364 million in real estate sales, selling over 2,250 properties throughout southeastern Michigan. The company has eight offices in Washtenaw, Lenawee, Jackson and Monroe counties. n ForeSee Results, a market leader in scientific customer satisfaction measurement and management, announced that Walter Rothschild has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer, a new position created to help the company advance strategically in 2010 and beyond. Rothschild will be responsible for marketing strategy in the development of additional industry sectors and new international opportunities. Rothschild joins ForeSee Results with more than 20 years of senior management experience with high-growth companies and international markets. Rothschild most recently led marketing and product strategy at R.L. Polk. Prior to that he was Executive Vice President, Marketing at TransUnion where he led a global repositioning of the company. Earlier he held various leadership roles at MasterCard, including Vice President, Global Marketing, in which he had responsibility for brand strategy/management, and consumer and commercial product management. ForeSee Results captures and analyzes online voice of customer data to help public and private sector organizations increase loyalty, recommendations and website value. n Five full-time employees at Huron Valley Ambulance have been chosen from several company divisions as this year’s Stars of Life. They are: Operations Support Technical Paula Abbott from Administrative/ Headquarters; Paramedic Erik Arlen from Eastern Operations; Paramedic Steve Champagne from Central Operations; EMTSpecialist Tim Gallagher from Support Operations; and Paramedic Kevin VanDaele from Western Operations. Gallagher, who has worked in EMS for 30 years, recently representing HVA from May 25 at the American Ambulance Association’s annual Stars of Life event in Washington, D.C, Gallagher was awarded a Professional Achievement Award at HVA’s Annual EMS Recognization Awards ceremony in mid-May. He also received a Certificate of Merit in October 2009 for his assistance at HVA’s drive-through flu shot clinic. The “Stars” were selected by HVA management from a pool of applicants who received “exceeds standards” performance appraisals in the past year. They also received recognition at the mid-May event. The AAA Stars of Life celebration recognizes and honors dedicated ambulance service personnel. n The Washtenaw Community College Foundation has named Marianna Staples as a 2010 Honoree in their annual Salute to Women’s Leadership. Each year the group identifies and recognizes members of their Women’s Council, who have demonstrated strengths in community leadership, providing an example of excellence to the students of Washtenaw Community College. Marianna Staples, who devotes much of her time in organizing and coordinating The Festive Affair, exemplifies these characteristics. Marianna and her husband, Ken, have established The Festive Affair to benefit the Salvation Army family center, which is now named in their honor, The Salvation Army Staples Family Center. Over the last 18 years Marianna has helped raise over 2 million dollars to fund the center, which provides a home environment to families and individuals in the 35-bed shelter, while they receive the help needed to turn their lives around. n Takata Corporation announced it has been chosen by Ford Motor Company to be one of 13 new suppliers added to their Aligned Business Framework (ABF) for closer collaboration and a long-term relationship. Takata’s global leadership in developing vehicle safety systems provides Ford a partner capable of assisting the company as it increases global common sourcing under the ONE Ford transformation plan while continuing to provide the company the vehicle safety systems of today and tomorrow as costeffectively and expeditiously as possible. The announcement was made by Robert Fisher, executive vice president of Takata’s North American operations (TK Holdings Inc.) TK Holdings Inc., with more than 400 employees located in Auburn Hills, is a subsidiary of Takata Corporation, the largest producer of seat belts in the world. Takata’s global operations manufacture more than 70 million seat belt assemblies annually. n Ogihara America Corporation, a Thai Summit Group company, has been chosen as the winner of the 2010 Energy Saving Commercial Project of the Year presented by DTE Energy and The Engineering Society of Detroit. This award recognizes a company that has made the most effective contribution in reducing energy by implementing a significant project through “hard” equipment or technology that was installed in 2009. Ogihara America’s winning project was for the installation of a remote laser-welding cell for the upper door of a two-piece door assembly. Traditional resistance welding methods for automotive sheet metal joining consume electricity at an alarming rate. A spot weld, for example, consumes over 70,000 watts of electricity per second. A remote laser weld consumers approximately 94% less electricity to produce a weld as compared to a traditional spot weld. Janet Bottesi, Sales Engineer and Diversification Team Leader, accepted the award in early May at the Energy Conference and Exhibition in Novi. Ogihara America Corporation has been a leader in the sheet metal stamping industry for over twenty years. From their facility in Howell, they provide customers with engineering, stamping and assembly capabilities as well as tool and die design, construction, modification and refurbishment. n MedHub, Inc., signed an agreement with Duke University Health System to deploy the MedHub enterprise residency management system across all residency and fellowship programs, Graduate Medical Education and hospital finance. MedHub also signed an agreement with The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and The University of Oklahoma at Tulsa to deploy its MedHub enterprise physician trainee management system across both institutions to handle Medical Students. MedHub was already being used to handle all resident and fellow training. The MedHub system is an integrated web-based suite of modules developed to improve communication, information workflow and reporting for physician training and residency program accreditation and institutional Medicare reimbursement. MedHub’s residency management system has been expanded to incorporate integrated functionality to handle Medical Schools and Medical Students. The development of this functionality makes available to MedHub the potential for expanded market penetration for its flagship product. Melita has had various assignments as a civilian with DoD, ranging from hands-on technology development to serving as a Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, and concluding as the Director for Land Warfare and Munitions within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics. The Michigan Bankers Association, the voice of the banking industry since 1887, is comprised of Michigan financial institutions with more than 3,500 branches located throughout the state. n Huron Valley Ambulance has received reaccredidation by the national Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) for its compliance with national standards of excellence. This is HVA’s fifth reaccredidation since their original 1993 accreditation. The nonprofit service is accredited through February 2013. Originally accredited for five years in 1993 and reaccredited in 1998, 2001, 2004 and 2007, HVA was one of the first 21 ambulance services in the nation awarded this distinction. To date, 159 ambulance services in the U.S. are now nationally accredited. In order to be considered for reaccredidation, services complete a voluntary review process that includes completion of a comprehensive application and on-site review by national experts in emergency medical services. The Commission is a nonprofit organization that was established to encourage and promote quality patient care in America’s medical transportation system.
