All equipment must be placed within the race-issued bag in order to enter the start venue area race morning. If you arrive at the entrance to Monmouth Park with a bag other than the official race issued clear plastic bag, you have two choices: 1. Return to your vehicle and leave your bag there 2. Transfer all of your items into a race-issued clear plastic bag before being permitted to enter the venue. • Note: Fanny packs, hydration belts, water bottles and/or small hydration-only packs will be allowed but are subject to search at any time. FINISH LINE Athletes / Spectators / Volunteers • There will be NO bags permitted to enter the finish venue for both athletes and spectators. This includes the race-issued clear plastic bags, purses, backpacks, diaper bags, etc. • Post-race, athletes will be able to retrieve their clear, plastic gear bag from the Gear Check area. However, for security reasons, these bags will NOT be permitted within the festival area. Athletes will be able to retrieve what they need from their bags and there will be changing tents available for athletes to change their clothes. Anyone leaving the Gear Check area with their clear plastic bag will be directed to the venue exit. • Spectators should leave all bags in their vehicles. There will be police security checkpoints at all entrances to the Finish Festival. Any spectator who has a bag will be asked to bring it back to their vehicle before they will be permitted to enter the venue. 4 MARATHON INFO Run through the diverse neighborhoods and business districts of Oceanport, Monmouth Beach, Long Branch, Deal, Allenhurst, Loch Arbour, Asbury Park, and Ocean Grove. Bring a noise-maker and/or a strong voice to cheer. Below are suggested viewing locations: 1. Finish area: On the Ocean Promenade in Long Branch. 2. Eastern end of Broadway (Mile 9.4): A short walk across Ocean Blvd. from the finish line brings you to Broadway (the future location of the Broadway Arts Center). 3. Pier Village is at miles 12.8 (half and relay) and 25.9 (marathon): In addition to being a great vantage point, it’s also a great place to relax during the races as it is full of shops and restaurants right at the beach! 4. Corner of Ocean Avenue and Brighton Avenue, West End and Long Branch: This beautiful, tree-lined stretch is closed to traffic (park west of Second Avenue) and is at mile 11.5 of the marathon, half marathon and relay. At mile 24.5 of the full marathon it comes back north toward the finish line. This avenue is full of shops and restaurants. The beach is one block east. 5. Asbury Park Boardwalk: The Boardwalk in Asbury Park is another great location to watch the full marathon. The stretch of Boardwalk south from Convention Hall is lined with shops and restaurants and is another great location to relax and watch the race. 6. Ocean Grove between the Great Auditorium and Ocean Avenue: At this southern most point of the full marathon course the street is lined with B&Bs and pleasant ocean views. This is the point of the race when many of the marathoners start to have difficulty and would greatly appreciate your encouragement. Please cheer them on as they turn north toward the finish line, which is still about about seven miles away. SECURITY MEASURES There will be NO backpacks, purses, diaper bags, etc. permitted to enter the start or finish venues. 26 START AREA MAP x x ve kA N x Pec x Au x Port x x x GATE # 12 BAGGAGE TRUCK EXIT x x x x Residential Construction x x x W x ell sk Ha ay x Miniature Golf Park x E Sunday May 1 2016 in x Ma LIGHT TOWER #1 x lin Ise St BAGGAGE DROP OFF Ln x FLUID STATION Parking Lot Drawing Dated - 03/31/16 Version 1.3 Monmouth Park Oceanport Nj 70 TOILETS & 3 ADA START LINE VENUE x J x I CHARITY RALLY AREA H G x ve FLUID STATION D C B 40’ A x 10 30’ ST A ve rt A po x STORAGE POD (under canopy) SOUND TENT & ANNOUNCE PLATFORM Monmouth Park Race Track 8 A 70’ LIGHT TOWER #2 ean ck Pe E x Oc u tA r Po F CORRALS x RT Parking Lot OPERATIONS CENTER LIGHT TOWER #3 STORAGE PODS (5) x x x 30YD DUMPSTER 10 x x 20 VIP x x x x VOLUNTEER CHECK IN VIP PRERACE AREA & ELITE PACKET PICK UP 10 x SECURED EVENT ACCESS 20 INFORMATION 10 x 20 x x Grandstand - INCLEMENT WEATHER SHELTER WILL CALL PICK UP LIGHT TOWER #4 x x EVENT PARKING Parking Lot S S LIGHT TOWER #5 x S S LIGHT TOWER #6 SECURED EVENT ACCESS x x x 9 TOILETS & 1 ADA BUS TERMINAL x x for RELAY TRANSISITON & SPECTATORS or tA ve VIP PARKING x 300 Parking Lot Parking Lot S RENTAL TENT SECURITY 4’ EVENT FENCE 6’ FENCE TOILETS x x 200 SCALE IN FEET CORRALS 10 x np x 0 COURSE 4 TOILETS & 1 ADA x ea x Oc x EVENT PARKING Parking Lot 100 LEGEND x 3 TOILETS 27 FINISH AREA MAP N Ave Cooper Residential Residential Residential Residential Grant St Drawing Dated - 03/31/16 Version 2.1 Ocean Ave Boardwalk The FINISH LINE VENUE Residential Residential Marine Long Branch NJ Residential Terrac Grant St Residential Residential Residential e Grant St x x x FULL MARATHON FINISH FINISH AUDIO C x x x x x x x x S1 MEDALS (60’) WATER (60’) GATORADE (60’) BANANAS (60’) x x x x GRANOLA (60’) HARVEST FUEL FOR SNAPS (35’) FIRE (35’) TAFFY (50’) PRETZELS (35’) G FINISHER PHOTOS (100’) Promenade Beach Club AREA CLOSED x ACCESS ROUTE from EVENT PARKING DIRECTIONAL SIGNAGE POLICE CHECK POINT x MUNK PACKS (35’) x x MEDICAL TENT - inc COMMAND x x 30 x 80 1 & 1 ADA x x x STORAGE PODS TIMING TRUCK TOILETS + x A HALF MARATHON COMMUNICATIONS TRAILER x 15 x C S3 COMMAND STAFF PARKING x A Ocean Ave Boardwalk x GREEN ROOM MERCHANDISE x x 10 x 20 C VIP Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant S5 EMT STAGING Ave A CTF SECURE ZONE EXIT x LIGHT TOWER + + MEDIA 15 10 ENTERTAINMANT STAGE 20 x 40 THE WINDMILL HUMC S8 ROONEY’S GATE ICLES STAFF TENT C 20 x 20 10 10 10 10 x 20 2 x A ENTRY ONLY Cooper FMG x S7 EMS VEH 10 x 20 RESULTS 10 ADA x x C CAFE DIEM MOGO x x ICLES A G EMS VEH SNOW CONES 10 x 20 CHARITY VILLAGE C 10 x DIRECTIONAL SIGNAGE S4 FAMILY REUNION A 10 x NOVO OATMEGA x 10 ALEXANDER TnT x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x 10 YMCA JDRF EXIT ONLY ICLES 10 S6 EMS VEH 10 SYTA BAGGAGE PICK UP x 10 S9 ATHLETE AREA inc.
