Classiche Cup for Outstanding Factory-Certified Ferrari: The 1973 365 GTB/4, s/n 16993, from Billy Weaver, presented by Marco Arrighi.
On Saturday during the day, the Ferraris were judged by expert
Judges to the exacting set of standard criteria formulated by the
International Advisory Council for the Preservation of the Ferrari
Automobile (IAC/PFA), founded by Ed Gilbertson. In the early
evening, the results of that judging were made known at the gala
Concorso d’Eleganza Awards Reception and Dinner in the Ponce
de Leon Ballroom. The two Best of Shows were a surprise, in that
a GTO was a sure winner of the Best Competition but the Best
GT was won for the first time by a sumptuous 275 GTB/4. The
mid-generation Ferraris are now garnering top awards. On hand
from Ferrari SpA was Marco Arrighi with the Classiche Award,
but also with the latest Yearbook signed by Piero Ferrari for all
the Major Awards winners. We thank Ed Gilbertson, our Chief
Judge, and the honored Judging staff for all their fine expertise.

The 21st Cavallino Classic was finished in fine form on Sunday at the elegant Classic Sports Sunday
at the lush Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida. Aston Martin was the featured marque and a rare
collection of new and old Astons graced the lawn. Rolls-Royce Motorcars had a fine display and the
remaining pre- and early post-war cars were true examples of the stylish automobiles of the Mar-aLago era. Benefiting from this day is the American Council of the Blind. Donald Trump was on hand
to host the guests, at this his Palm Beach home. Light judging of the cars, presided over by Russell
Glace, CSS Chief Judge, adds to the relaxed mood of the day and the guests also get to vote for
their favorite cars. All are awarded over a huge brunch in the ballroom in the early afternoon.
We thank Bernd Lembcke, Director of the The Mar-a-Lago Club, and his staff for a fine day.
