All Ages Cub’s Life/Instincts for Survival: Role playing games help kids learn about predator/prey relationships Life in the Pond: Kids dip-net for pond creatures and investigate their findings Wildlife Detectives: Hunt for signs of animals and learn how they adapt to the environment “Lost in the Woods” Wilderness Skills: Learn valuable life skills and how to prepare for outdoor adventure Outdoor Recreation: Orienteering, Snowshoeing and/or kick-sledding, Maple Sugar Bush Visit Children Youth Programs for children ages 3 to 8 involve indoor and outdoor activity and culminate with a craft: Nature Discovery Hike: Using their senses, children explore nature hands-on A Chickadee Feeling: An introduction to common winter birds and their habitats while hiking in the woods Land of the Three Bears: Discover the world of hibernation Programs for children ages 9 and up involve outdoor activity and skillbuilding: GPS Geocaching: Learn orienteering skills to find hidden “treasures” Team Dynamics and Low Ropes Challenge: This program challenges participants to work together to succeed at fun, safe, co-operative games Don’t see what you’re looking for? Tiffin Centre for Conservation 8195 8th Line Utopia, ON, L0M 1T0 705-424-1479 ext.263 www.nvca.on.ca Our Facilities The Tiffin Centre is made up of more than 300 acres of conservation lands including wetlands, forest, meadows and ponds, connected by a series of groomed trails. The hub of the Environmental Education program is the beautiful John L. Jose Environmental Learning Centre. Additionally, the Tiffin Centre features a number of other facilities to help make your visit fun and educational, including an outdoor classroom, picnic pavilion, operating maple sugar bush and low ropes challenge course. We also have equipment available for groups to participate in show-shoeing, kick-sledding and GPS geocaching. All of our facilities, and most of our trails and programs, are accessible to children of all physical and developmental abilities, and all-terrain wheelchairs are available for use. How to Reserve Your Party Step 1: Call to speak with our education staff at 705-4241479 ext. 263 to select a date and program. Step 2: Obtain a booking form on our web site at nvca.on.ca (click on the Environmental Education button and select Birthday Parties), or call us to request that it be sent to you. Step 3: Complete your booking form and send it by fax to 705-424-2115 or email to [email protected] Your deposit can be provided by mail, phone or in person. We accept cash, cheque, debit, VISA and MasterCard. Party Prices & Policies 3 hours - $270 for up to 20 children ($13.50/add. child) Includes 2 hrs of programming conducted by Tiffin staff, and 1 hr in the party room to be planned and facilitated by party hosts. 2 hours - $185 for up to 20 children ($9.25/add. child) Includes 1 hr of programming conducted by Tiffin staff, and 1 hr in the party room to be planned and facilitated by party hosts. Additional hours - $95 per hour for up to 20 children. Parents and adult volunteers attend free. DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION POLICY: A 50% deposit is required to reserve an event. If an event is cancelled with two weeks’ or more notice, the deposit will be refunded minus a $50 administration fee. If a cancellation is received with less than two weeks’ notice, the following cancellation fees apply: 3-hour party, $135; 2-hour party, $92.50. Food Options Party hosts are welcome to bring their own food, either homemade or catered, and must supply all tableware and linens. Please see our booking form for complete terms and conditions. Campfire lunch available! Let us provide hot dogs with all the fixings for $2.00 each. Location The Tiffin Centre is situated on the 8th Line of Essa Twp. in Simcoe County, just 4 km south of County Road 90, and 10 km west of Barrie.
