First of all some Feedback:
This weekend was the RATEL RALLY 2016:
The Ratel Rally was powered by the Dirty Dozen in aid of the Bikers Benevolent Fund.
As always The Ratel Rally was a well organised rally with plenty assistance if required. The attendance
was a little disappointing from the Port Elizabeth Bikers. But I suppose thats Because the Buffalo Rally is
next weekend and the way the rand is now it makes it difficult for most of us to do two Rallies in a row.
But the 500 + that were there had a great jol. I met lots of brothers from other mothers there, and we
consumed huge amount of liquids. The weather started off a bit wet but this was an old school Rally’ and
all old school bikers don’t even look at the weather.
There were a lot of long distant travellers, Different clubs from Namibia, A couple from Upington, the guys
from the Westrand, a few from Jhb and from Cape Town
This Beautiful Foxy Lady rode alone from past Cape Town.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Mark A Redhead all the way from Australia at the Ratel.
E’tienne Le Roux rides for Ulysses SA Durban
On Friday night even in my slightly intoxicated state I was not too stupid.
I met this gent and when he started telling me about his biking life I thought dam I must remember this so I
video recorded the interview with him about his travels. When I played it back On Monday I was disgusted
at my slur and surprised, wondering how he even understood what I was asking him. Anyway here is what
it was about:
E’tienne Le Roux comes from Natal and is almost 70 years old and spends most of his retired life travelling
from Rally to Rally. Etienne is living the dream a lot of us would love to do.
Etienne rides a Dyno Switchback Harley Davidson, with 184 000km on the clock.
Etienne has been to the 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Sturgis Bike Rallies in America and the amount of
bikes been recorded at these Rallies have been up to 1500 000. But these are not rallies in one campsite
these are Bike Rallies that take over the whole town and the surrounding areas. Etienne says “Everything in
America is Big”
Etienne has also ridden the South African route 62 and the American route 66 from the East to the West
Coast right across America.

Early Saturday morning Avril De Klerk left the Ratel Rally on his Bicycle and went for a 120km ride to
raise awareness and funds for the BBF.

The whole weekend was a blast and the music was great and the bar prices and service was fantastic.
And thank you to the CMA for always being there for us with your coffee tent.
Thank you Eddie, Rob, Franco, Natasha, Owen and all the Dirty Dozen for all the hard work and making
this the Ratel Rally to remember.
Bikers of the Eastern Cape; The Ratel Rally is organised to raise funds for the BBF.
The BBF is there to Assist Biker in Need. Nobody plans to be in a position when you require help.
So remember the more you help the more it will be noted and if you suddenly need help then it will be
there... Support the BBF and the Ratel Rally it is a great cause.

Knysna Speed Festival_ May 6

Guys and Gals, PECBR would like to support Bill in Knysna in his efforts to put together some bikes for the
Knysna Car Show and Demonstration rides at the Simola Hillclimb route.
Imagine being in the pits at this prestigious event, and get a chance to ride up the route once or
twice. Probably a run (maybe 2) at lunchtime each day.
So what an opportunity! You will get pit space; a pit pass and lots more. There is no better way to see this
event than from the inside, in the pits.
So let’s see if we can make a weekend of this.
Please RSVP to myself or directly to Bill, but it would be great to put a team together, and support the event.
GRMC Car/Bike show:
All historic (pre 1989 as a guideline) and interesting (classic) racing bikes are invited, but due to space, a
selection will be made for display bikes.
We are hoping to have a bigger tent than last year for the bikes.
Date: Sunday 1st May (Monday is public holiday) Requirements/Entries:
We would like to have a list of all interested owners with details and pics of their bikes by 15 th February.
Simola Hillclimb
We are currently looking into getting a tent for this event to use as pits.
This will be a ‘Parade’ to display the machines to the public, there is no timing allowed.
Only bikes pre 1985 will be considered for selection.
Bike numbers will be limited and selection done by the committee.

Advice From Women To Men

3. If we're watching football with you--it's not bonding--it's their butts.
4. Whenever possible, please try to say whatever you have to say after the movie.
5. Lay off the beans several hours before bedtime.
6. Please don't drive when you're not driving.
7. If you were really looking for an honest answer, you wouldn't ask in bed.
8. The next time you joke about female drivers, research the number of accidents caused by rubber-necking miniskirts.
9. If only women gossip, Then how do you and your friends keep track of "who's easy"?
10. Stop telling us most male strippers are gay: we don't care.
11. When you're not around, I belch loudly, too.
12. We don't mind if you look in the mirror to check your appearance – in fact -- please do !!!
