Attendance was 95 adults, 9 youth, 4 children (3 royal comps). Hocktide 2016 bids are being accepted now. Please submit a bid if you are interested. Other Business: Baronial Discussion – We talked about a lot of issues at the Shire social, including the perception the Honey Badgers are running the Shire. We set several goals for going forward. We agreed to move forward when we have achieved $7,000 in the bank, with an average balance of $6,000 for six consecutive months; and we have all seven required baronial office positions filled, plus warranted deputies for Seneschal, Exchequer, and Marshal who do not already hold another office. We want to make sure that our officer pool and event stewards are diverse; it’s important to have a good time and not burn out. When those goals are met, we would request polling to see if the populace supports the idea of becoming a barony. Twelve members present were in favor, with one abstention. To address the perception that the Honey Badgers are the majority of active members, the idea was raised that we try to set GD camps apart with GD Banners or other recognizable identifiers. This led into a discussion about changing GD heraldry with lesser-used charges. Mistress Caterlin and Duchess Verena have several ideas for possible replacement heraldry; please contact Cat if you have ideas. Archers! This year Tain Bo will host Glyn Dwfn's inaugural Archery Championship! What could be better than being the Archery Champion? Being the First Archery Champion! And here's your chance... You will face off against your challengers in an archery Battle to the Death! Each archer will have a representative, poseable figurine on the target in front of them; shoot all your enemy's figurines before your own bites the dust! The last archer standing is clearly the champion. This is not an opportunity to miss. If you want to compete, I need a letter, Facebook message, or text message of intent before August 7, so I know how many archer doubles I need to make. Earn yourself undying glory as the First Champion. This chance only comes once. Lord Hroðric of Fenwald Archery Marshal, Glyn Dwfn The Fine Print...
